  1. In that case, you need to determine what the laptop's video-out jack is - probably HDMI - and get an adapter that goes from that to VGA-male - they make them, I have a few. Take a picture of the laptop's video-out jack and I can find what you need on Amazon and you can either buy online or take the picture to the store.
  2. Actually, the top is a (male) VGA cable. The bottom is a (female) power cable (plugs into the computer or monitor power port). VGA is quite old and you may not be able to find a new monitor that takes one (you may need a VGA-something adapter if your computer's only video-out jack is VGA). The power cable is pretty universal and should work on any monitor that uses removable power cords (but then, new monitors always come with their own power cords).
  3. Zil's formula for calculating tithes and offerings: (Hopefully God doesn't punish me for thieving his formula.)
  4. No apology needed - just letting you know why I don't interact a lot and why I haven't updated that spreadsheet. I'll ponder this. Part of me thinks forcing myself to do the counting is good for me - I live in my head, nearly exclusively, and forcing myself to do something other than think up stories is probably good for me. Yeah, that's a pretty good summation.
  5. I just updated my tab on the habit tracker from my bullet journal, but as mentioned there, in answer to your "update weekly" comment - since I have a bullet journal, I see no reason to update the spreadsheet. I'm in my bullet journal every day. Also, I don't respond well to other people telling me to do stuff - either I find my own reason to do it and hold myself accountable, or it doesn't get done. As for results - I have considerably better balance on the reverse lunges, and every now and then a knee touches the carpet now. Otherwise, remember that my mental focus is just on making a habit. When this becomes (mentally) as easy to do as treading on the trudgemill, then I'll think about other goals. I've also changed the sequence of the exercises to do the reverse lunges first, then push-ups, squats, and pull-ups last. I'm also doing this before trudging rather than after. That sequence seems to work better for me. I'm also doing it earlier in the morning than originally. (The only negative for me at the moment is that I have to count, thus preventing me from thinking about other things - my biggest complaint about exercise - my brain has better things to do.) Also, FYI (because you're not going to see me checking in unless someone explicitly quotes or pings me), during the YNN week, my computer crashed hard. It took all week to bring it back to minimal functionality (still haven't finished), and in the process, I got a significant amount of my creativity back (honestly, I was worried it was gone forever). And also restored (if not completely, to a significant degree) my ability to concentrate (as in, read for hours on end without losing focus). In consequence, I discovered that nothing on my computer (including forums) is nearly as interesting as what I can read or make up in my own head. And I decided that forums and social media aren't good for my head. Therefore, I haven't been paying much attention here and don't intend to. (No offense intended, dear reader, but what happens in novels and stories I make up in my head is far more interesting than forums and other social media.)
  6. Guess what! Not all styles have cups. Some are in fact flat. For those of you not as well endowed as @mordorbund.
  7. Last I heard, Daybreak is sinking (and lots of folks regret buying there). But that could just be a couple of isolated incidents - do your research!
  8. I'm confused by your confusion. Puzzled by your bewilderment. I mean, it's not like we can all be clear on how incomprehensible other people's incomprehensibility is, but it's perplexing that you're not confused by other people's baffling befuddlement. I'm stupefied. Mystified. ::walks away shaking head in astonishment::
  9. (Yes, I know, I can't draw a monkey wrench - will practice next time - unless the robots assimilate me before then.)
  10. What, like insisting people provide you and your companions desserts at 7pm? Say in a church meeting?
  11. Nope, just some of the manufacturers have been predicting the pens and inks used elsewhere in the universe.
  12. You could use it to write Carb a letter - he appreciates green.
  13. OK, and this time, you get two options:
  14. Fortunately, our current robotic overlords were born in Sacrament Meeting 3 weeks ago, and haven't had time to become corrupted yet: Pretty sure that's Sailor Tokiwa Matsu in a Wing Sung 601.
  15. I could only guess, but... 1. The Book of Mormon, D&C, and PofGP were all comparatively new to them - they were probably far more comfortable citing the Bible. (And I'm not sure how long it was before it became common for everyone to have these volumes and get familiar with them.) 2. Perhaps they were oft trying to show investigators and new members the truth from the Bible, because that's what their audience was also familiar with / accepting of. I have no idea though. Others who have studied Church history could give a better answer than I can.
  16. As far as I can tell from TPJS, he (and I assume his culture) wasn't obsessed with exact, cited quotes from scripture. There are lots of footnotes that link things in TPJS to verses from the Book of Mormon - implying that's where he got the idea, but he himself doesn't cite the Book of Mormon or quote it directly. (Peruse through the Citation Index, and you'll find lots of such footnotes.) No idea whether the Joseph Smith Papers project has a useful way to search for such things - I only have TPJS and Lectures on Faith. PS: He mentions the Book of Mormon in some way or other many more times than above, but above were the only direct quotes I found.
  17. Our stake was rearranged into smaller wards in order to lighten the load on the bishops.
  18. The first session will start with prayer and the last session will end with prayer. Whether any other prayers will be said in between, I'm not going to guess. There will be singing, talks, and some sustaining. Something will be announced. No fewer than 5 people will take notes with fountain pens.
  19. Hmm. I'm thinking you meant this to go in your YouTube Apologetics thread.
  20. You should have gotten a border collie - then it would be like having a permanent teenager.
  21. No, I just liked what you wrote - I've mostly been ignoring this thread because the OP is obdurate.
