In trade for a fountain pen and accessories, @NeuroTypical sent me some My Little Pony music (surprisingly good stuff) and this: (Which is currently hanging out off to my right.)

Gross Tithing, Gross Blessings. Net Tithing, Net Blessings
zil replied to Backroads's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
If I believe the D&C to be true, and I do, then I have to believe that there is correlation. Therefore, it must be that we do not understand the laws upon which blessings are predicated, or do not know what is and is not a blessing. -

@MormonGator, Did you remember to check the, um, door latch? Ahem. You know what I mean.
-
Right, I'll get on that in the morning. Or maybe the afternoon (it is New Year's Eve). Dang cops. And I'll put the "Come Back With A Warrant" doormat back out.
-
A common New Year's resolution.
-
I have no idea what that means. (Sorry if I ruined your clever response.)

Anyone know where I can get some of this free masonry? I was thinking about having one of them fancy barbeque pits built in my back yard.

Releasing from callings, "those who need to know"?

As opposed to hollow ducks floating every which way in the bathtub. Those solid ducks may not float, but they're much more orderly. Ouch. But better than not knowing you were being called as Primary President until they announced it in Sacrament meeting. -
Pretty sure it's more about making a point, reminding Joseph of something, rather than literally asking a simple yes/no question. He's saying, "Get some perspective, Joseph. I've been through worse. I'll help you endure this. If you're humble."

The honest, unironic feminist mindset: Nature is sexist

Can we just pause here to thank whoever it is that made the thing that attaches the seat belt hanger to the doorpost adjustable? There's an awkward sentence! Here, have a photo: Saves my neck from getting sawed through by the seat belt. We now return you to your regularly scheduled unironic feminist mindset post having little to do with cars (other than, perhaps, what some people do in their back seats). -

(Emphasis mine.) Response from hypothetical person: "But it's so much easier to use a mathematical formula than to prayerfully seek the Lord's guidance!" -
A) I wouldn't have seen it if not for the use of @zil B) I have no idea who "Darth Stevan" is, so how do I draw them (and make them recognizable) as a cannon without doing research on who it is (which I don't want to do)? C) Not sure how to draw a person as a cannon (and don't really want to think too long about the possibilities). (It appears too late to prevent too long, unfortunately.) D) Two of my characters are having an interesting discussion in my head, and I'd prefer to continue eavesdropping on them.

You'll be waiting a looooong time - I don't pay any attention to threads like this - I have no idea what this thread is even about, other than assuming it's about YASWM.

"infantry blue" means nothing to me. Off to google. Hmm. In some pictures, it looks like a baby blue, in which case, the answer is "no". In other pictures, it looks like a grey-blue, in which case, Diamine Misty Blue or Sailor Sou Boku (in a dry pen) might, maybe come close.

Exactly how many names do you have? PS: Wine was declared healthy long before tea was, can't believe you waited. :SMH:

Opposition is a necessary part of learning and growth

We have no knowledge of what Heavenly Father's mortal experience may have been like. I recommend reading this article: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/ensign/1982/02/i-have-a-question/is-president-snows-statement-as-man-now-is-god-once-was-as-god-now-is-man-may-be-accepted-as-official-doctrine?lang=eng ...it seems to contain the beginning and ending of what has been revealed thus far on this topic. Also, God is more than "God of Earth" - He is God of everything - see here, especially the 3rd paragraph: https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/study/scriptures/bd/god?lang=eng -
Not to my knowledge.

Sorry, I just can't stand the man. But I will say that he's an exceptional writer. (I just think what he writes isn't worth reading - and yes, I know, not a popular opinion, even in the Church.)
-
Arg. That sounds like an insult to me.
-
Not even close.

I figured maybe Germans would look it up in the dictionary and be confused, so I decided to head that off at the pass. PS: A favorite line from book one: "You mortal-whelped son of an Aat!" (Not that I expect anyone, even you, to understand what that means (yet), but it's still one of my favorite lines.)

Whelp, s/he declined to provide a gender, so I couldn't use a pronoun and still have it be clear who I meant, so, ya know, the username thing seemed to be the best option. (After the fact, I did think maybe I should have just made up an abbreviation and used a footnote1 to explain my made-up abbreviation, but by then, it didn't seem worth it.) 1You know how I love footnotes.

@person0, I think Traveler is presenting what would logically follow if one believed things we do not believe. Not sure why he's not clarifying that for you (or any other reader), but that's what I suspect is happening. Of course, I could be all wrong. (I also suspect he subscribes to a different definition (or understanding?) of "all powerful" than you and I do, but that he's not actually arguing his definition - at least, not directly, but perhaps by demonstrating the (il)logical end of a third party's definition of "all powerful". This kind of hard-to-follow approach is why I tend not to engage with him.)
