  1. What is their position on other electric appliances? Have they commented on "Dark Toast" as being a fence sitter in the "Kitchen Wars in Heaven"?
  2. That is now. Back when you may have simply been the genitor of a soon to be repeated religious custom. BTW, I imagine autism existed way back when as well.
  3. The invite for the Banquet goes out to all, eh?
  4. I think this is the best proLDS blog I have run across: Mormon Teachings
  5. While I seem to have the duties of a pew sitter in Sacrament meeting down well, I am lamenting the lack of cushioning on the folding chairs in Gospel Doctrine and Priesthood Meeting.
  6. Religious hatred is certainly not conducive to a good working relationship between groups and individuals. It has been the source of wars and individual strife. It would seem that this hatred can be bred of both familiarity and unfamiliarity. Either way it is dysfunctional.
  7. Doctrine and Covenants (58:4-11) talks about a great feast that happens some time in the future. "Yea, a supper of the house of the Lord, well prepared, unto which all nations shall be invited. First the rich and the learned, the wise and the noble; And after that cometh the day of my power; then shall the poor, the lame, and the blind, and the deaf, come in unto the marriage of the Lamb, and partake of the supper of the Lord, prepared for the great day to come." However in Luke we find: Luke 14: 16 Then said he unto him, A certain man made a great supper, and bade many: 17 And sent his servant at supper time to say to them that were bidden, Come; for all things are now ready. 18 And they all with one consent began to make excuse. The first said unto him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused. 19 And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused. 20 And another said, I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come. 21 So that servant came, and shewed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind. 22 And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room. 23 And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say unto you, That none of those men which were bidden shall taste of my supper. Does it seem like the concepts have been changed?
  8. Imagine if religious hatred were a thing of the past. Being introspective, do you think it would change your life? What about everyone else's lives?
  9. Jell-O is a dry packaged gelatin mix, that when water is added and allowed to cool, becomes a wobbly semi-transparent dessert confection. It is one of the staples of the LDS diet, just like Fosters and Vegemite are to the Australian diet. :D:D
  10. Jesus as the Terminator! Should have looked the instructor square in the eye and said, "You feeling lucky Preacher? Well do ya? But, before you answer, you should know this is a .44 magnum quad in my hand...".
  11. A meal of tuna casserole, funeral potatoes and green jell-o would have been a just sentence.
  12. I am wondering why I have had to redo my password twice today. Is the server having trouble remembering passwords? Perhaps the computer memory is getting old.
  13. Change happens all the time throughout the universe. Consider this: Church missionaries are reaching out to Black people as I type this.
  14. The biggest pitfall was being able to watch the tumbleweeds blowing by as the only action around. When Beliefnet (which is the largest religious site in the world) changed their format, they lost a huge number of members. The strictly Mormon forums there seemed like a ghost town for a few weeks. The good news is that they eventually will come back. I am glad you will keep things running much like LDS Talk. The proviso to not speak derogatorily is a very good one that should not really interfere with discussing issues. :)
  15. As long as there are so many moderators, theoretically this board will not dry up and blow away, however, I think the biggest challenge for this new site will be maintaining the degree of participation that LDS Talk had while avoiding the pitfalls of LDS Forum. :)
  16. Here is a simple analogy: Trinity - Think of Pokémon: They can at different times be in one of three different states of being. Godhead - Think of the Three Stooges: While one comedy troop, they still remain Larry, Moe and Curly.
  17. Might not be so weird, I understand all the buses at Murdock Travel have been booked in advance for the back to Missouri Trek. That the conestoga wagon could always be hitched to the SUV. In the meantime, think of the Lady of the Salt Lake lifting her liahona and urging the tired, poor and huddled masses to her shores.
  18. Is there any type of penalty for new members who have not received one of these blessings? Are they purely optional?
  19. You know, in the LDS hymnal, each song has a tune name. Perhaps we could refer to the candidates by their tune name. For instance, the current leader of delegates for the red party could be known as polyurethane. The leader of the blue delegates could be called, that woman.

  22. This is a metaphor for profuse sweating.
  23. As far as man tampering with the human genetic code, I remember an article suggesting that the gene that allows sturgeon to survive at 50 degrees below zero, might be very handy spliced into the human genetic code during the next glaciation period.
  24. Could they bring back the capacity to see you last 10-50 posts?
