  1. Best of luck Searcher in finding what does work for you.
  2. Censorship would be a bit subtler.
  3. Messing with sasquatch
  4. I ran into this post on one of our sister forums and the wisdom of the reply seemed so good, that I brought it here in case it could help:
  5. Gaia, this is very profound stuff. The wisdom of what you have said is both obvious - once I read it - and inspiring as well.
  6. I am uncertain whether in needs to be secular. For instance, the followers of Ayn Rand seem a bit cult-like.
  7. We seem to be continually gathering information and refining our belief system throughout our life and that is good. Unexamined beliefs may not be worth having anyway. Sometimes taking an inventory of exactly what it is you do believe (not what you think you should - but what you actually do believe) helps to provide some clarity for you. You must realize this spiritual pathways stuff is an individual journey, and what is spot on for someone else, may not be right for you. You are in the driver's seat for your own beliefs. They are yours to choose.
  8. Anthony, could you be more specific as to the doubts you have been having?
  9. I always need to rely on my gift of discernment when dealing with marketing and investment schemes.
  10. One thing I have noticed about various Bibles is that they all tell the same stories. However my very favorite English language Bible is The Message Bible/remix. It is definitely the most readable. If I follow both that and the KJV during the Gospel Doctrine Class, I get more out of the lesson.
  11. Chaplin, do you see any hard and fast moral principles that need to be observed in this regard? Also, would there need to be a distinction made between the torturous interrogation of someone suspected of having knowledge of a plot or crime, and someone being interrogated to extract a confession? Finally, were those Geneva Convention people just a bunch of wusses or were they trying to outline a viable way of conducting ourselves?
  12. Is there any chance that sharing this information could lead to being ostracized by the other members at Church? If so, I would caution against sharing this information.
  13. Anuna - Greensleeves, Scarborough Fair
  14. We don't really do in-depth Bible study in my Church, so I can't tap into that feeling Prisonchaplin has going on. Not much in the way of discussion either, but I can very well understand the appeal. The closest we LDS have to this, is the internet. To me, it is a great adjunct to the 3 hour tour. I suppose I like the communion with God aspect of the weekly Sacrament, the best.
  15. CHICKENS??? - sorry, that is the punchline to an old aggies joke. Planning on practicing some animal husbandry?
  16. They are not the Magyar?
  17. Look for the French Darby Bible or the French Louis Segond Bible. You can download both for free at E-sword for your computer. http://www.e-sword.net/bibles.html
  18. Is there some form where the cows get to raise their hoofs to the square?
  19. I don't see how offering her own thoughts is anything but appropriate on a discussion board. If followed closely, the Thumpian School of Thought could lead to a fairly bland reading experience.

  21. Ran into this the other day and downloaded it. It is a program called Ocean, and it is a free computer collection of religious resource materials, including the Mormon Canon. I checked it for viruses, trojans and tracking cookies and it was clean. I am impressed with it. Ocean Program - English edition (for Windows - or Mac and Linux that can run Windows programs)

  23. In my own life, I believe that through the Atonement of Jesus, God has already forgiven us. I sometimes insist on being more picky till I reflect on the Atonement and ask myself why I have to be more picky than God. I suppose it is because I do not process information as effectively. However, with prayer and meditation, I am able to bring myself around. I realize the existence of anger is necessary part of completing the grieving process and I suspect it is a part of the being offended process as well. It is good however, to never get hung up in an endless loop with these processes and hopefully prayer and meditation can help break these loops for you as well.
