The money is great of course, but it’s a hollow victory. The parents got their day in court and now Jones has to live with what he did for the rest of his life. Maybe Alex should have been a little smarter. Jurors frown on those who try to exploit dead children for fame/to feed their ideas, etc.

Is anyone a role model in 2022? No, because the masses look for any reason to tear someone down. We place foolishly high expectations on people than act shocked when we find out they aren’t perfect. So we’ve created a society where no one can be a role model. I find his personal behavior reckless, and yes,I’d call it morally troublesome. But, I’ve got my own issues so I’m in no position to lecture him. I also see the fruitlessness of it. Elon Musk loses no sleep over people calling him immoral. So what’s the point? Yup, religious people find having babies out of wedlock immoral. Nothing new here.

Those are all great points. To me, this is like when Utah voted to repeal probation in 1933. You might think you know how “the people” will vote. But never ask a question you don’t want the answer to!

@NeuroTypical-check out what happened in Kansas recently regarding abortion. This is Kansas, one the reddest states out there. Can’t blame “the left”’ for this one. https://ballotpedia.org/Kansas_No_State_Constitutional_Right_to_Abortion_and_Legislative_Power_to_Regulate_Abortion_Amendment_(August_2022) Not only did it not pass, it got slapped in the face. This should be a major red flag (no pun intended) for the GOP. If the right wants to put gay marriage on the ballots…well, I call their bluff. Go for it.

Hopefully he learned something and will be more careful with his words next time.

I’m just glad they haven't shut TH down yet. The reactions are frosting on a cake.

When Warhol said every man gets his 15 minutes of fame, he was thinking exactly of Milo.

That’s just really sad. It’s one thing to have people hate you. Honestly, if everyone likes you you probably aren’t that interesting. But when immediate family has feuds like this, it’s more sad than anything else.

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/amp-video/mmvo145428037989 He just did the impossible. He finally admitted the shooting was 100% real. Sure, he’s only doing it now for jury appeal and PR, but it’s still a step forward I guess.

Fair question. Yes, I watched his show before. I also heard him on the Joe Rogan show. Twice was enough. Having said that, you don’t need to watch/hear his show regularly to know his views. I’ve only heard “Mormon Stories” a few times to know that the host is an anti Mormon. I don’t need to hear any more of either show, frankly!

You are, of course, kinder than I am. He’s part of a conspiracy all right. One to take away the money of good people who mean well but are deeply misguided.
-
Wrong again. Your part about W and ketchup I found particularly invigorating. I’m having Sonic for dinner tonight.

@Ironhold-it’s not personal, but let me try and explain why I’m highly skeptical of 99% of conspiracy theories. Here are a few of my reasons. They (adherents to conspiracy theories) don’t understand what happened. Ie-they don’t understand the temple so they’ll create some whacky anti-Lds conspiracy because helps then “understand” what they don’t comprehend. So it feeds their ego because they think they have the answers It’s how they view the world. If THEY had the power they’d want to hide “secrets” from the poor, deluded masses, so they assume everyone else feels the same way, and accuse others of hiding things because they’d do the same. They want to view themselves as “enlightened” or “smarter than everyone else” or “informed” so they believe whacky conspiracies that the majority of us dismiss, just so they can feel “special” and more righteous than the sinful and blind sheep. Stupidity/ignorance. A certain amount of people still think Elvis is alive and that the world is flat. If you think that way, it’s based in a low intelligence, and like all people with a low intelligence, they think they are geniuses. Raw hate. If you hate a certain group of people (Jews, LDS, Homosexuals) you are far more likely to believe whacky conspiracies about them. They lack critical thinking skills. No one taught them to be skeptical. Oh sure, they’ll say they are “skeptical” but 100% of time they lack the self awareness/critical thinking skills to be critical of their grand conspiracy claims. Now, I didn’t even mention the theories themselves. Again, it’s fruitless to discuss individual ones. These are just aspects of all conspiracy theorists. A generality? You bet. But it’s also true. Every single conspiracy guy falls into one of these categories. Maybe more. Finally, you have the inherent silliness of conspiracies. If these grand organizations exist, are controlling everything and covering it up…why does everyone know about it? If I was that powerful I’d do a much better job hiding my grand plans. hope this helps. Again, it’s not personal. Sorry @JohnsonJones, I think I beat your record for longest post possible!

With all due respect, no. I don’t believe you. Though it’s an oversimplification to say that of course. I could be here for hours poking holes in conspiracy theories, but, I learned decades ago that trying to reason with the true believers is like trying to get Gollum to part with the ring. All I can say is you have free speech*, as do I, and we can both believe what we wish. *free speech obviously doesn't mean I can yell Fire, blah blah or slander someone.

I can’t decide if Jones is an innocent dupe who honestly believes this garbage or if he is laughing all the way to the bank because he makes money off stupid people who believe him. I think it’s a bit of both? I wish I had even less morals than I have. I should seriously consider starting a podcast promoting conspiracy theories and picking on parents who just lost kids in school shootings.

Did you see my FB page today? Check it out. He’s a lunatic who is getting exactly what he deserves. Play stupid games…

One more thing about the Dream that he doesn’t get credit for is that he carried the 94’ team to their championship ring. No offense to Kenny Smith or Mario Ellie, but he had no sidekicks that year.
-
@Vort-I remember the Rockets with Hakeem sweeping the Magic in the championship. Hakeem vs Shaq was great to watch.
-
Two great picks. And let’s not forget that the Admiral missed out on some years in his prime due to his Navy obligations. You are right about Ewing too. Great player. It amazes me that a guy with two rings is underrated but he is, vastly so. In his prime he was basically toying with other centers, making them look foolish. Yes, maybe the best pure center of all time. Totally agree, 100%.
-
Where would you guys put Kareem? I’m too young to have watched Russell (or Wilt) play. But I’ve seen a ton of videos of Russell. I’m also a big big Celtics guy, so I have an inherent dislike of Kareem. But, I do think he was great. I’d also put Hakeem up there too. Russell, Wilt, Shaq, and Olajuwon are my top centers.
-
He’s absolutely in the mix as well.
-
Oh, you could easily make that case. Easily.
-
Inarguably the best center who ever played. 😞

I saw that movie years before I joined the church. Haven’t thought of it in awhile.
