  1. Your opinion is shared by many people! Lol!
  2. @Vort-This is just a shot in the dark here, but if you like cover albums from that general era, Guns and Roses have an album called “The Spaghetti Incident?” which is loaded with cover songs.
  3. Agree 100%. Word for word. My personal favorite in that album is their cover of Diamondheads “Am I Evil?”. I also really like their cover of Astronomy as well.
  4. @Vort-that Metallica album is filled with covers. You might enjoy it.
  5. Agree totally. My mom likes Bob Seeger too, and has not heard a Metallica song since I lived at home. However, she enjoyed the cover song when I played it back then.
  6. No disagreement, though I don’t think the “youth” of today hate those things as much as those of us on the right think they do.
  7. Anime is just a style, even though it’s not my thing. It’s a great idea actually to share the gospel that way. The BOM or the origin story of the church would make a great comic!
  8. Thank you for sharing this!
  9. https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/china-protests-against-xi-jinping-spread-to-many-cities-101666114416384-amp.html Another fascinating thing he said. I know not everyone cares about the conversations him and are having, but this is some “on the ground, live” reporting. China is rapidly changing. Perhaps the war that everyone is planning/hoping to have won’t be as epic as we think.
  10. China has some big “problems” now, especially with their youth. Right now hordes of young people are disgusted with communism. My brother (who lives there) and I were talking about this over FB today. He sent me this message about a tattoo artist he knows: He mentioned that the government is “scared to death” that the youth are lost. Also, both exchange students we hosted spoke out vehemently against the government. I know my experiences don’t represent all of China, but they are interesting. China is realizing that the internet can’t be censored, and it’s glorious to see. The leaders are beginning to understand that in 2022 you can’t control information like you could in 1991. Once again, I wonder how effective a nation can be if your troops are starving (NK) or hate the system they are under (China).
  11. Some grim humor regarding North Korea
  12. No it isn’t. Remember that kid in high school who always talks about tough he is but the moment an 8th grader takes him up on the offer he runs away and tattles? That’s North Korea. If you can‘t feed your troops they generally aren’t that great at fighting a war. Have you read Nothing to Envy by Barbra Demick? She talks in depth about a North Korean solider being blown away by a….set of nail clippers. Granted, this book is older, but if your troops can’t figure out technology from 1955, they aren’t a threat.
  13. Those things are vile. I remember reading one as a child and being terrified for years that my parents and I were going to Hell because we were Catholic. I’m 100% certain Chick felt the same about LDS. Even the most hardcore atheist could not poison religion as much as he did. Thank God he’s dead.
  14. Yes, agree totally. It’s fun to throw around doomsday scenarios because it doesn’t cost you anything to be wrong. You can also just dance around when you are proven incorrect. If you say Tuesday will be judgement day then come Wednesday when everyone is still here you can claim it was a “hidden rapture” or something, just like Harold Camping.
  15. To be clear, I think there will be a literal mark of the beast. But Christians have cried wolf so much over it that the townspeople have every right to ignore them. As a believing Christian, I wish we were far more careful with end time predictions like this. You can only scream alarms at people for so long until they have every right to ignore you.
  16. This is just an allegation right now. But even if it is true, it’s just a company choosing who it does business with-something that conservatives have preached that companies have a right to do for decades. I understand why it’s concerning though now that the shoe is on the other foot. This is hardly an indicator of the mark of the beast. Or, if it is, “The Beast” is getting pretty lazy.
  17. Those are wonderful stories. Thanks for sharing them.
  18. Amen to that, but to be fair, there is no bad time to get out of debt!
  19. Oh, agree totally.
  20. Lol. Maybe. It does fascinate me how life works. I have many friends talking about God kept them safe, and maybe He did. Seems pretty nasty to say to those that lost everything that God just wasn’t paying attention to them though. It just comes down to luck I guess.
  21. All legit points, as usual. How does ticketing for GC work?
  22. My first in depth conversation with an LDS missionary was via Facebook.
  23. Just fine my friend, thank you for asking. It was expected to be a direct hit but we didn't even lose power. I’d love to say God saved us-but there are far more holy men out there than me, and they lost everything.
  24. I’m certainly no expert, but Indonesia is like 80% Islamic. Are there any other temples in heavily Islamic countries?
  25. Okay. So, why the low attendance then? I’m confident that GC can draw far better below 50% for attendance. Heck I’d go if I was in Utah
