  1. Well, at least it beats hawking Amway on Facebook.
  2. It’s common to get “compassion fatigue”, especially with gofundme. For a slightly different perspective: Pre covid when we saw Make a Wish kids at Disney both LG and I would be incredibly moved, often to the point of tears. Now we see them so often that it’s become normal. We still feel bad for them, but it's now like “Yup, good luck kid. See ya’ in line for Space Mountain.” Cruel? Not really, we just adapt quickly to our circumstances. It’s almost impossible to not have subconscious mental barriers up.
  3. It’s nice to see the hard left go into breakdowns over this, but the moment anyone on right gets any kind of infraction, no matter how justified, I’m assuring you that the same people celebrating today will lose it and claim Musk “sold out” or “became woke”.
  4. In twenty years Mole rights activists will demand this becomes a national holiday!
  5. When I lift a gallon of milk at the store, I always take a selfie and post it on my insta. After all, not everyone can lift a gallon of milk and put in the carriage. I am SO buff. That’s my genuine flex. 🙂
  6. Is it just me, or is this an incredibly odd “flex”? I’m sure there are some people out there that won’t get it (there are people out there who think Elvis is still alive) but am I wrong in thinking that 90% of people will easily get this? This isn’t even a math problem! Maybe it’s some kind of meta joke about not everyone getting a slice? Are the actual numbers for Pi wrong?
  7. It breaks my heart to hear this. I’m sure parents and grandparents take it personal when a kid struggles with their testimony, but it’s not your fault. You can’t force anyone to believe something.
  8. With Vince Neil as the driver.
  9. Fascinating. Thanks.
  10. Are you saying grunge didn’t kill hair metal?
  11. Oh, agree. It also followed the spectacular Use Your Illusions albums-so fans were expecting a lot.
  12. Your opinion is shared by many people! Lol!
  13. @Vort-This is just a shot in the dark here, but if you like cover albums from that general era, Guns and Roses have an album called “The Spaghetti Incident?” which is loaded with cover songs.
  14. Agree 100%. Word for word. My personal favorite in that album is their cover of Diamondheads “Am I Evil?”. I also really like their cover of Astronomy as well.
  15. @Vort-that Metallica album is filled with covers. You might enjoy it.
  16. Agree totally. My mom likes Bob Seeger too, and has not heard a Metallica song since I lived at home. However, she enjoyed the cover song when I played it back then.
  17. No disagreement, though I don’t think the “youth” of today hate those things as much as those of us on the right think they do.
  18. Anime is just a style, even though it’s not my thing. It’s a great idea actually to share the gospel that way. The BOM or the origin story of the church would make a great comic!
  19. Thank you for sharing this!
  20. https://www.hindustantimes.com/world-news/china-protests-against-xi-jinping-spread-to-many-cities-101666114416384-amp.html Another fascinating thing he said. I know not everyone cares about the conversations him and are having, but this is some “on the ground, live” reporting. China is rapidly changing. Perhaps the war that everyone is planning/hoping to have won’t be as epic as we think.
  21. China has some big “problems” now, especially with their youth. Right now hordes of young people are disgusted with communism. My brother (who lives there) and I were talking about this over FB today. He sent me this message about a tattoo artist he knows: He mentioned that the government is “scared to death” that the youth are lost. Also, both exchange students we hosted spoke out vehemently against the government. I know my experiences don’t represent all of China, but they are interesting. China is realizing that the internet can’t be censored, and it’s glorious to see. The leaders are beginning to understand that in 2022 you can’t control information like you could in 1991. Once again, I wonder how effective a nation can be if your troops are starving (NK) or hate the system they are under (China).
  22. Some grim humor regarding North Korea
  23. No it isn’t. Remember that kid in high school who always talks about tough he is but the moment an 8th grader takes him up on the offer he runs away and tattles? That’s North Korea. If you can‘t feed your troops they generally aren’t that great at fighting a war. Have you read Nothing to Envy by Barbra Demick? She talks in depth about a North Korean solider being blown away by a….set of nail clippers. Granted, this book is older, but if your troops can’t figure out technology from 1955, they aren’t a threat.
  24. Those things are vile. I remember reading one as a child and being terrified for years that my parents and I were going to Hell because we were Catholic. I’m 100% certain Chick felt the same about LDS. Even the most hardcore atheist could not poison religion as much as he did. Thank God he’s dead.
  25. Yes, agree totally. It’s fun to throw around doomsday scenarios because it doesn’t cost you anything to be wrong. You can also just dance around when you are proven incorrect. If you say Tuesday will be judgement day then come Wednesday when everyone is still here you can claim it was a “hidden rapture” or something, just like Harold Camping.
