I was in favor of Roe's overturn, to return the matter to the people.  Kansas is off happily voting what they want into law on the matter.  Good for them.
Kansas law allows for an abortion up to 22 weeks after the last menstrual period. After that point, only in cases of life or severely compromised physical health may an abortion be performed, with this limit set on the belief that a fetus can feel pain after that point in the pregnancy.  It's more than just legislation, it's written in to the state constitution.  Honestly, that ain't bad reasoning.  If God's gonna allow humans to make up their own minds on when life is worth protecting, "as soon as it can feel pain" seems like something folks wouldn't mind being judged by the Almighty about.
Kentuckians wanted to enshrine such things in their constitution, so whims of whatever legislature is in power currently can't just change things with legislation.  Kentuckians have what they want.
Many Kentuckians wanted to change their state constitution to kill abortion entirely, they couldn't find enough to get it done.
Good for Kentucky, getting exactly the law they want, with exactly the hurdles they want to change things.  Get bent, federal government, and bad SCOTUS decisions.
Hooray for states rights!  And hooray for protecting the life of the fetus once it can feel pain!  It doesn't exactly align with my personal take on things, but it's not bad.

@NeuroTypical-check out what happened in Kansas recently regarding abortion. This is Kansas, one the reddest states out there. Can’t blame “the left”’ for this one.

Not only did it not pass, it got slapped in the face. This should be a major red flag (no pun intended) for the GOP.

If the right wants to put gay marriage on the ballots…well, I call their bluff. Go for it.

Looks like either way he's paying for his mistakes. 5.6 million owed...and damages still to come. Ouch.

That’s just really sad. It’s one thing to have people hate you. Honestly, if everyone likes you you probably aren’t that interesting.

But when immediate family has feuds like this, it’s more sad than anything else.

He just did the impossible. He finally admitted the shooting was 100% real. Sure, he’s only doing it now for jury appeal and PR, but it’s still a step forward I guess.

Fair question. Yes, I watched his show before. I also heard him on the Joe Rogan show. Twice was enough.

Having said that, you don’t need to watch/hear his show regularly to know his views. I’ve only heard “Mormon Stories” a few times to know that the host is an anti Mormon. I don’t need to hear any more of either show, frankly!

With all due respect, no. I don’t believe you. Though it’s an oversimplification to say that of course.

I could be here for hours poking holes in conspiracy theories, but, I learned decades ago that trying to reason with the true believers is like trying to get Gollum to part with the ring. All I can say is you have free speech*, as do I, and we can both believe what we wish.

*free speech obviously doesn't mean I can yell Fire, blah blah or slander someone.

One more thing about the Dream that he doesn’t get credit for is that he carried the 94’ team to their championship ring.  No offense to Kenny Smith or Mario Ellie, but he had no sidekicks that year.

@Vort-I remember the Rockets with Hakeem sweeping the Magic in the championship. Hakeem vs Shaq was great to watch.

Two great picks. And let’s not forget that the Admiral missed out on some years in his prime due to his Navy obligations. You are right about Ewing too. Great player.

It amazes me that a guy with two rings is underrated but he is, vastly so. In his prime he was basically toying with other centers, making them look foolish.

Yes, maybe the best pure center of all time. Totally agree, 100%.

Don't forget David Robinson and Patrick Ewing. (Ignore Ewing's lack of championships. He never got the help he needed, and no one not named Chamberlain can win a game all by himself. Not even Jordan.)
Never liked Kareem. 7'2" of crybaby. But he was a great center in an era of great centers. He stood out, literally and figuratively. Easily a top 5 all-time center, and easily a top 30 all-time player.
Olajuwon was always, always, always underrated. He may have been The Best Pure Center Of All Time No I Am Not Joking Even A Little. I absolutely loved the guy; maybe my favorite player, certainly among the top few. Unbelievably athletic, freakishly smart (basketball-wise), and HE NEVER PLAYED BASKETBALL UNTIL HE WAS FIFTEEN YEARS OLD. Despite being billed as 7' or 6'11", could not have been more than 6'9" or 6'10". Just look at him standing next to other centers of the time. Abdul-Jabbar looked to be four inches taller. Olajuwon played like he was 7'6", while my man Shawn Bradley (always pulled for him), who really was 7'6", often played like he was 6'9". Difference in temperament and mindset.

I loved watching Russell play, but my GOAT for center, and probably for all-around player, remains Wilt.

By the way, the pic and quote is from a movie called "Salt Lake Punk".  It earned it's R rating so I can't really recommend it.  But the main character eventually comes to the conclusion that out of all the posers pretending to be punk, he's the biggest.  Movie ends with him shaving his head and removing all other symbols of is punk resistance, and accepting his father's offered full ride scholarship to Harvard.

For those who might be a new member of the Church, or not even a member at all, or just lurking, this stands for Ezra Taft Benson who was a Prophet and president of the Church many years ago.

I would make the argument that this is only one contributing factor. The massive expansion of 24 hour media and the need to always have something new and fresh in order to stay relevant (and profitable) means that media companies are digging a lot deeper. So I think we hear about more of these things because the entertainment news industry reports more of them to get more eyes.
