    Slc

I'm so glad that you had a fun time! I love vacations that are flexible and you can let cool things happen as they come. I was surprised to read that you made it to Olympic Park AND that you actually rode the zip line, slide and bobsled! Way to go! You sounded like such a wuss in chat when it was mentioned! I totally agree about how clean SLC is. It's one of the things I noticed the most too, and I moved here right as the Olympics started and there were people EVERYWHERE! I'm glad you guys enjoyed yourselves minus the almost laying on of cars by a priesthood brother. Hope you're having or will have a safe trip home!
  3. You're making me nervous to drive in the entire North Salt Lake/Bountiful area! Just look out for my car and please don't end up under it ok? :) Looks like you guys had fun! Thanks for sharing!
  4. Very cute!
  5. Woah Maxel! You've got an awesome voice! Thanks for sharing! Don't take this the wrong way but it sounded a lot more like a... MAN than I expected! LOL
  6. See, now Bishop Ginn would be all over it! jk Good luck!
  7. SLC Points of Interest - Google Maps Made this for Marshac who came to visit this past weekend. I've been adding to it, but it's pretty much the general sites to see.
  8. Yes you are correct. You could also call her your 2nd Great Aunt. Just keep in mind that it might make the 3rd and 4th Great Aunts slightly jealous, but such is the pecking order!
  9. Will do! Should have asked him at the Conference Center when we were both there on Friday. But seriously, they just sent you an addendum to your call?
  10. Wow, how did that come about?
  11. Moe's ego being pumped up with each "thank you" he gets on his posts. Surely it's much bigger than that by now! Next:
  12. Honor - when I sit here and read all these threads that I want to respond to, but then start typing... read it over, and decide that it's pointless. Next:

  14. If people aren't governing themselves, someone is always happy to do it for them. If they don't like it, they should have been turning off their phones before now. Man, to think of all those poor people who died in movie theaters before we had cell phones!
  15. I'd be careful in situations when you're asking God for a sign. I think most times our Heavenly Father would like to communicate with us through prayer, study, and personal revelation. His spirit speaks to our hearts in a way that is more clear and personal than a sign. If missionaries don't show up, will you take it as a sign that it is not the true gospel? So often in life I think of my Heavenly Father watching me and, like a loving parent, shaking his head and smiling as I try to pretend like I know better than He, in the decisions I make. Often times those experiences come with disappointment, but now in hindsight, I can see that He knew it's what I needed to overcome my pride and to turn in humility back to Him instead of leaning on my own understanding or my own personal wants. HOWEVER, this is a personal matter, between you and God. You set the terms of the deal. I guess what I think you need confirmation of, is if God agreed to the deal as well. When God makes a promise, he fulfills it, although most of the time it is usually action on our part that - a demonstration of our decision and faith, that brings about the confirmation from Him. I sincerely hope that you find what you're looking for. I know that God has power to do all things. His power has worked miracles MUCH greater than missionaries being in the right place at the right time. He CAN do this. Just don't miss all the other ways that He might be trying to communicate with you because you're looking for two white shirts to come walking up to your door. He sure seems to like to answer my prayers in the way that I least expect it.
  16. Anybody else look at the pictures on the story and think, "Holy cow, they look like they just graduated from Primary!!!!! I mean, I've adjusted pretty well through the phase in life where you realize that missionaries aren't really your peers anymore, but do those kids really look old enough to be leaving on a mission to you guys or is denial setting in as I work my way toward 30? Maybe it's a primi thing.... HAHAHA Get it? Yeah ok, lame, I know.

    Hi

Welcome! I hope you find the motivation to get back soon. I often take the opportunity to feel the spirit for granted, but it makes a big difference. Hope you enjoy it here! :)

    Puppies!

Sooo very cute T! Although I must say, in flipping through, I think I "awwwwww"d over the picture of Cakes from Easter even more than I did the puppies! How in the world do you attract such adorable little creatures to your home the way you do?! :)
  19. Well at least the first 3 lines sound simple enough. Sorry to hear about #4. Hope you enjoy yourself here.
  20. I know this sounds like some comment that might be made in Relief Society, and I am fully aware that as a Mother, you are not required to entertain your children EVERY minute of the day, but might I suggest brainstorming alternative activities with your child? Probably not when he's whining about the TV, but put all the ideas in a jar or something. It can then be where you point him when he is bored. Still stick to your guns, but it would at least be offering him a solution rather than a "deal with it!" Then if he doesn't choose to take advantage of your suggestion and is disrupting the shared areas of your home, the consequence might be that he goes to his room until he is ready to cohabitate in peace. I believe that setting up a situation where children will already know the consequences for their actions is best. We all (children especially) do what works for us. If whining, moping and complaining gets him anywhere, he'll do it, but before sending him to his room, I'd at least offer some kind of stimulating alternative. My son is almost 3. Maybe I should be asking you for advice instead... :)
  21. I dunno Dravin, I'd still be a little worried about exploding at some 320 lb, 6'4 woman... Although... come to think of it, I've never really had anybody blow up at me and i'm 6' (but slightly less than 320). I never made the connection!
  22. I mean that I don't always want to remember my dreams and since Moe was so upset by his, it made me think that I'm probably better off not having them weigh on my mind.
  23. I'm like you most of the time Maureen, but I dunno, sometimes I wonder if we're not better off just not knowing...
  24. Can we say "what the hell" on the boards now? /me waits for Pam's confirmation and I'm SO ready to go. Can we get a WTH button?
  25. I tell ya Wing, I really feel for her.
