There are quite a few fun videos on the channel featuring this Angry Ram against one thing or another.

My ink review story (The Adventures of Quin and Makhabesh) had a goat adventure (part 3). Ricky Cha - an obnoxious little goat - was one of the most popular characters. The goats were let by the goat wizard, Kri Nachi, the Ancient of Goats. And if you're lacking for entertainment, you could do worse than "Angry Ram destroys a punching bag":

(hit submit too soon) The first requirement here is to figure out what worship means - specifically, where it came from (and perhaps what it meant way back in the day). But for this purpose, etymology is sufficient: To worship someone is to acknowledge their worth. Some people worship wealth or fame - pursuing them with a singleness of purpose. Some worship their career. Etc. We worship that which we consider to be of the most worth. That which is of the most worth is our "god". God our Father wants us to worship him ("thou shalt have no other gods before me") for the reason @Vort gave - it's the way to ensure the immortality and eternal life of man. Worship of anything else before (over, more than) God will lead us elsewhere. Next, my recommendation is that you turn to the Topical Guide entry for Worship and study what you find there. I have found this to be a very effective technique for clarifying my own thinking. And often, I don't even have to leave the Topical Guide (though it's better to read more than less of the scriptures cited). In this case, just from the entry, I see a few interesting things: When Abraham was on his way to sacrifice Isaac, he told the men with them to stay behind while "I and the lad will go yonder and worship" - so making sacrifices to God (these days, a broken heart and contrite spirit, aka humility and repentance) is considered worshiping God. The word "serve" is frequently treated by those who created the index as synonymous with "worship". Ditto with the idea of loving God Psalm 95 suggests prayer as a form of (or companion to?) worship (Alma 33:3 makes them synonymous) Follow the Jeremiah link and you'll see that discipleship is treated as worship (similar in other citations) Accepting/receiving/following The Zoramites are an example of how not to worship (vain / lying words - hypocrisy) "...grant unto them their sacred privileges to worship the Lord their God, yea, to support and maintain the cause of God all his days..." (Alma 50:39) D&C 93 may warrant a deep dive: Other than these things and what's already been expressed by others, I have no clue what "worship" could mean - there are lots of verses where it says something like, "...he/they worshipped...", but these verses give no details as to what that means. Somehow, I doubt it involved Hollywood-esque idol worship style behavior. You'll have to excuse me now, Klaw is demanding that I worship him.

All the ones I know are YouTube. Please don't let YouTube + laziness / convenience replace the Holy Ghost and personal revelation!

Why does ownership of property matter? He's not saying they have to own property, he's saying they have to have a residential address (aka live) in the voting district - not be transient. The why for this should be obvious - we elect people to represent the people in a geographic area. If you can't prove you live in the geographic area, why should we let you vote on who represents said geographic area?

Magic AI plan to create bus route fails miserably
zil2 replied to Backroads's topic in Current Events
Yeah, it's not enough to know the roads - you have to know the traffic patterns, how the lights work, how the drivers behave, etc. It doesn't take that long to learn all that - if you're driving 8+ hours a day all over the whole city, but folks these days think computers can do everything. -

I just love when the computer tells them something and they ask it to verify / re-check what it just said, without any further input - as if a computer could come up with a different answer without further input. Meanwhile, as to the school buses... I agree, this seems like an "easy button" problem. As a former driver and dispatcher, it's not that hard to plan routes, assuming you have all the data you need and know the city. I wonder why it's so hard for them to hire enough bus drivers. Perhaps the feds are paying too many people not to work. I would consider being a bus driver (I did that in Moscow, Russia, after all), but only if there were another adult on the bus whose job it was to watch after the children - you can't do that and drive - and I'll bet they can't afford that, either. -
Stop ruining my fun with your verb tenses!

Well, after 2000 years, your memory probably isn't what it was...

Person probably assumed outsider would know Salt Lake but not Holladay, so they kept it simple and said "Salt Lake". I've done that just so I don't have to explain where my little part of Salt Lake County is. But I definitely do not consider myself to live in (or even that close to) Salt Lake City.
-
I don't live in that heathen city! I bet you'd love our stake, @Vort Not SLC, that's for sure, and seriously good folk. Though @mirkwood's ward could do with some improvement, so yeah, you should consider moving in and helping them out. My ward, on the other hand, is practically perfect. Those of us who live here don't. Salt Lake valley, OK. SLCounty, OK, but not part of the city.

Or as Nibley puts it in Approaching Zion: Brutal, man, brutal.

Reading Xenocide right now. Amazing...
zil2 replied to CommanderSouth's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Ah. Well, we can hope they're false, but as I said, I don't pay attention to authors outside their books. And what's more, I haven't read his latest work because I'm not starting another series that isn't finished. If he ever finishes the magnum opus, then I'll try the first volume. (Assuming my kitten ever grows up - little dude's exhausting me. I have no time for anything unnecessary these days.) -
So annoying! (speaking of garden weeds) But back to the talk - it really was exceptional, IMO. These were the bits that caused me to go read the whole thing:

Is Sanderson is the opposite, or you're just saying you know these things about Card? (I haven't ever followed Sanderson, or any other writer, on social media, so I wouldn't know. I only know the dude has an amazing imagination and can write fantasy fiction.) -
In that training I was in by Brother Camargo, one person mentioned that maybe those who aren't using CFM at home really don't know what to do or how to do it, and to help them, the class could do a pretended home study of the lesson. This could go any number of ways, but perhaps it might help - on the assumption that those who aren't participating also aren't studying at home... Dunno what to tell you, Carb. Sounds frustrating.

I have found that being excited about the material and happy to be leading the discussion - and letting that be seen - is one of the best ways to engage a class. (Being guided by the Spirit is, of course, always the highest priority and first requirement.) I also sometimes break out the dry erase markers and have folks spit out answers while I'm writing them on the board, with my back to them much of the time, encouraging them to keep 'em coming - this tends to build and once people say something, the energy tends to keep going and we can get into deeper questions. Pre-class encouragement, questions to consider, and similar things (including individual assignments, though I've never needed to resort to those) can also help. If I were in your place @Carborendum, I'd try every technique in the book - rearranging the chairs, breaking into small groups and having one member of the group report what the group concluded; taking turns reading a passage (just to get them used to speaking in class), a variety of questions. Trying to develop relationships (where appropriate) with class members, etc. I think I would even try the sit in silence for an hour, but with specific passages selected for us to read silently and perhaps an invitation to share something that the Spirit emphasizes as they read - even to share it just with me, quietly, and then I'll share it with the class. I think I would also spend a lot of time on my knees for each individual not participating, asking God what, if anything, I should do to help them. (Fact is, for a percentage - which should be less than half - leaving them alone may be the right thing, but I can't believe that's the case for the majority.) Regardless, you have my sympathy.

I learned after Robert Jordan not to start reading a series until it's finished - or rather, I almost learned - a J.V. Jones series appears to have been abandoned, too. Farland's son died before he finished the last book, and I guess he just never recovered the energy to finish the project. -

Yeah, but the series isn't finished and it appears it never will be. I believe this guy was one of Brandon Sanderson's professors at BYU.
