AngelLynn
We don't get liquored up on Christmas anymore.I suppose sparkling cider doesn't count. Frankly, I like Egg nog myself. Although nothing added to that, as some people do. :)
Moksha
What channel can we find it on? If I remember right, last year it was on ABC TV. One thing that would be rather meaningful for Mormons in the Salt Lake area is to try to attend Midnight Mass at the Cathedral of the Madeleine. However, such Midnight Masses are held throughout the world. Some are so popular like the SLC one that you need to get your free tickets ahead of time. Palerider
I always thought Fruitcake was the one everyone hated......I agree with what Johnny Carson always said.....that there is only one fruitcake and it keeps getting passed around every year. Its so bad no one eats it they just pass it to someone the next year.
August
One difference is that other Christian churches have some type of service on Christmas Day, regardless of when it falls. LDS buildings are closed unless Christmas falls on Sunday. Why is that? Christmas is pretty much the biggest day of the year for most churches. WillowTheWhisp
I was just about to mention the same thing about the cider and egg nog. Both can be very strongly alcoholic here in the UK. It quite shocks some members when they read articles in 'The Friend' suggesting that small children drink apple cider for refreshment. Guest Alana
Before and after joining the church Christmas is exactly the same. Well, there is one difference, I think more of Christ. Well, I think more on Christ on a daily basis than before being LDS, so it wouldn't make sense for Christmas to be an exception.

Aesa
We have Christmas Midnight Mass. The Church starts with being totally dark-then the Christ candle is brought in-the only candle lit and -from that candle-everyone is holding a candle-and those candles are lit from the Christ Candle. Soon the whole church is being lit by hundreds of Candles-quite a wonderfull way to begin the Christ-Mass.-CarolOh my, I remember going to that with my mother once. But obviously it was a negatively powered experience along with others because I'm not in the church today.Does the Church have a 25th December service? ADoyle90815
Here's something interesting, astronomers now think that the Christmas star was visible in June of 2 BC, so that would put Christ's birth in that month as well.Christmas in June?
