We bought the pedipaws when it was first shown on tv. Waste of money.

DH has considered getting one of those for our pets (cat and bird). I worry about it being noisy enough to scare them (and in the cat's case, that could get a human injured).

More detail on your experience with it, pretty please?

It scared my dog and really didn't "pedicure" like it said it would.

Sometimes when I can't sleep, I watch TV and at 2 am, these infomercials are on. I've wondered if the claims can be true. I've been interested in the globe thingy that waters plants, the bra shelf thingy that provides more shape for a woman, facial stuff, etc. Basically girly stuff. I did like that animal grooming thingy--basically a vacuum cleaner for pets. And I must say some of those *ahem* personal things look interesting. :P If I get married, I'll send ya'll my registration info for some of those interesting info sites!

we got a sample of a sham-wow in one of our "grocers magazines" at work. it was cheap. i wouldn't spend my money on it.

i almost bought the magic bullet one morning. buy one get one free. then i remembered i have a perfectly good blender that i already hardly ever use. so there went that thought.

My sisters got the Big Mean Green Machine- great product! It really does what the infomercial says it will.

One sister has the Magic Bullet- The Niece and Nephews(3) use it all the time. It is easier to use than her blender- considering her blender is an attachment to her food processor.

I got the FlowBe. You attach it to your tank vacuum, plug it in and cut your hair. It works just fine. Used it for three years and when I left husband #1, I left it for him. He used it more than I did, and needed it more than I did.

The rule of thumb that my extended family goes by: If they say "...It really, really works..." then it is guaranteed that it will NOT work and you are throwing your money away.

I got a Magic Bullet after lapband surgery. It works well, especially for blending things into a protein drink.

I have a vidalia onion chopper that works great. cut an onion in 4 and put a piece on the blade section and slam the lid closed. i use it regularly. my wife uses it to for pickles when she makes tuna.

I'm a sucker for as seen on tv products

Wonder steamer: Skip it, get an Iron

Magic bullet: Shotty construction. Tried to blend a smoothie and the "teeth" on the motor drive shaft broke leaving it worthless. Only used 10 times max. Wife made smoothie, forgot about it and the kids "hid" it (their like squirrels:)) After fermenting for a couple of day the pressure became too much and the "shatter resistant" cup exploded. Kind of cool except for the mess.

Wonder pancake maker: 2 small skillets joined with a hinge. Flipping it spills mix everywhere.

Wonder ear (?): Works but i lost the headphones

Scunci Steamer: Crap. 409 cleaner wins hands down.

Water globes: Gave them away for Christmas and the in-laws swear by them.

I forgot about this one. I didn't buy it on tv but in a store with the "as seen on tv" sale sign. Piece of junk. It didn't do anything it promised to do on tv.

I don't usually do the "as seen on TV" aisle, but do own some EZCombs (hair accessories, for the men present ;)). They're easy to use, comfortable, and do the job. They're also nice-looking, IMO (several sisters have commented to me they like them too). Got those at Fry's, of all places.

I also own a Steam Shark I bought at Sears. Love that thing. Does a great job (and I can even get DH to help clean by letting him use it ;)).

Yeah i don't deal with the shipping and handling and wait till they make it to the store as well.

I do know the concept works, my in laws have a steamer that works great for cleaning. Of course it weighs 60lbs and cost them $200.

Are those the butterfly looking hair thingys? I've wondered about those. I have very fine hair and find that most hair holder thingys don't work well in my hair. I wonder if these would. Off to my local electronics store to find them....:P

I think we're talking about the same thing. Involves two combs connected by beaded elastic. My hair's quite fine and these do well for me. You can also find them at places like Walgreens, Rite Aid, etc. and possibly at Wal-mart.

I think she meant Fry's Food store. Also known as Fred Myers, Kroegers, etc.

I see a lot of those items at Target, CVS, and Bed, Bath and Beyond, as well as at the "As Seen on TV" store in the local mall. Someone gave my brother a Snuggie as a gag gift because he loves to laugh at those commercials, and his cat loves to sleep on it. The only things I really got were a Ped Egg at Target, which I do like, and the replacement blades from CVS. I do use Bare Minerals makeup, but I got that at a local salon/beauty supply store after my aunt mentioned that she uses something similar. A friend of mine has the Pancake Puff pan and they like it.

I've purchased in the past:

Silver Lightning Tarnish Remover Tray - no good. was trying to take tarnish off of clarinet keys (removed from the clarinet).

Buttoneer - have yet to use it, but I've got it!

The Bean (like an exercise ball) - just like the buttoneer - have yet to really use it, but no holes in it yet!

Magic Bullet - have used it. Works a whole lot better than the Ultimate Chopper did (which broke rather easily). The Miracle Blade knife that came with it works quite well though!

George Forman Grill - who doesn't have one of these?

MagicJack phone service - works well with a computer with a fast processor & memory directly connected to a cable modem router. Otherwise, it's spotty at best.

I've bought other "business books" and stuff, but I never worked them and didn't see myself succeeding with those materials.
