Just_A_Guy Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Happened across this story in the Deseret News today. It seemed a little noteworthy because this is the first photo I've seen of any apostle since David O. McKay who was wearing a suit that wasn't black or navy blue. Quote
pam Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Might I say he looks very dapper in that suit. Maybe that's his "non general conference" suit. Quote
Iggy Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I will have to show that to my husband, he doesn't think that it is allowed to wear any color(s) other than navy or black. He would look so good in light tan, or light camel or even a light sage. thanks for the link Just_A_Guy Quote
Moksha Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I will have to show that to my husband, he doesn't think that it is allowed to wear any color(s) other than navy or black. Gray, navy and black suits with white shirts were all that used to be allowed at IBM Corp. Quote
jameslentz Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 when i was with MIB we were only allowed to wear white shirts and black suits...crap, i always forget i can't talk about that stuff.....where is that neuralizer.....<**FLASH**> Quote

But, it is GA culture to wear something conservative. Quote

He would look so good in light tan, or light camel or even a light sage. I wore a dark olive suit for one of my suits on my mission (I thought it worked rather well for my complexion and hair color). Never wore a light suit, but then the call booklet said no light colored suits (though I did wear a pair of light grey slacks for the summer).Just a random thought, my current suit is black (but mostly because of limited selection at the price range I was seeking at Burlington Coat Factory). Guest Alana Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 I've never seen my husband in a suit. I've seen him in a tie except when I saw his pics from his mission. I've got my work cut out for me. Quote
Dravin Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 More often than not I just go to church in a white shirt and tie and don't bother with the jacket these days, of course the jacket needs dry cleaned which provides the perfect excuse. Quote

bytebear Posted July 8, 2009 Report Posted July 8, 2009 Unrelated to your wardrobe discussion, but... My dad grew up in Springville and was eventually laid to rest there. We would go to that museum a lot when I was a kid. So, this story brings back a lot of memories for me. Quote
Ezequiel Posted July 9, 2009 Report Posted July 9, 2009 its weird to think that GA have other clothes... I mean, I thought they were born in their dark suits! Haha, have you ever seen a picture of them wearving CIVILIAN clothes? Quote
