EQ_Guy Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 (edited) What's the present costs of garments - top and bottom? I've heard they're sold separately, so I'd like to know the price for each piece. Also, the current price for the ceremonial clothing? Also, do they just come in small, medium and large, etc? I've read that garment sizes are different than regular underwear sizes... how true is that? Also, how many styles are available for men? Also, do they keep their size or shrink after washing and drying? Feel free to share any additional information. Ps. When/if my Stake President signs my recommend, will he then laminate it or is that something I have to do on my own or what??? NEXT UPDATE: I now have access to the private area of the site, so I can see all the prices. Thanks to everybody that added good things to this post! :) Edited January 2, 2010 by EQ_Guy another comment Quote

Jbs2763 Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 most everyhting G wise is under $5, most under $3 for mens stuff Quote
john doe Posted December 26, 2009 Report Posted December 26, 2009 Prices do vary by material, but they are generally in the range that JBS said. As for sizes, the mens tops are done by size and length, for instance I wear a large long top. Depending on the fabric, bottoms sometimes are done by waist size and some are done by S-M-L-XL. Some sizes are not available in some fabrics. Scrawny guys can wear just about any fabric available, man-sized men sometimes have to settle for something they don't entirely love. Quote
annamaureen Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 I've read that garment sizes are different than regular underwear sizes... how true is that?I'm sure it's different for everyone, but I'm a women's size 8 and I wear an extra-small garment top. Odd! Quote

You will get your first set when you are at the temple. You need to talk to your bishop. Must stakes have people that go over all of this with you.I've noticed over the years to quality has gone down, but fortunately they only cost a few dollars per piece. Quote

I seem to remember buying my garments at the same time that I bought my temple clothing with my mom.Or do you just have to have your recommend? Quote
pam Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 That was my question Honor. I thought you had to at least just have your recommend even for the first time. Quote

applepansy Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 You have to have your recommend. You buy your first pair and take them with you in the unopened package to the temple when you go the first time. The people at the distribution center will ask for your recommend or will look you up in the computer system to see if you're an endowed member. For your first time buying garments you will need your recommend. Quote
pam Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 That's what I thought apple. Thanks. Quote
Jbs2763 Posted December 27, 2009 Report Posted December 27, 2009 and if you live no where near a beehive clothing...you can have your bishop order htem for ya, or some kin Quote
Churchmouse Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Whenever I order either by phone or the internet I have to give my record number and confirmation date. When we went to the temple in Washington D.C. we bought them at the temple, we didn't order them ahead and take with us. Of course, that was back in 1979. Things could be done differently now. Quote
pam Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 You haven't bought new garments since 1979? Quote
Hemidakota Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 You can order online and requires a membership number. Your membership number will be checked to see if you are endowed or not in order to make a purchase. Quote
Wingnut Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 They also used to let you try unmarked garments on for sizing purposes, but they don't anymore. Quote
Guest Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 Okay, I want to make garments. There are just too many things that can be improved on all the current material available. But it seems like it is easier to get a constitutional ammendment made than to get a new garment style. Waaaa! Really, Pres. Monson, I love to wear garments. But do they have to be so uncomfortable and inconvenient? Quote
jmcic Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 When i Went to the temple my Escort was able to order them for me and i just paid for them Quote
Hemidakota Posted December 28, 2009 Report Posted December 28, 2009 I didn't know we are back to the full ankle and wist cut garments. ThermaxThermax is a thermal, rib knit polyester fabric. The fibers are hollow so they trap body heat to warm the wearer. Thermax garments are made in only long sleeve tops and ankle length bottoms. Care: Machine was warm, permanent press. Non-chlorine bleach as needed. Tumble dry medium, permanent press. Quote
