pam Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 This is probably the most shallow website I've ever seen. I understand they can hold their own standards..but I, for one, wouldn't want anything to do with a someone from this site.Dating site for beautiful people expels 'fatties' after holiday weight gain - CNN.com Quote
Bini Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 How do they know how fat or thin someone is? And, I'm not surprised. I've seen other sites that only want "beautiful" people etc etc. Quote
Dravin Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 This is probably the most shallow website I've ever seen. Not that I don't think it's crass, and pointless. People can lie, as Bini points out, and you can easily design a feature to let people filter based on weight so all this does is remove potential revenue. Unless of course they think this gimmick will outweigh that.Oh, wait, where was I? Ah, yes. Are there non-shallow dating websites? admittedly my experience is minimal, but I just assume that was the nature of the beast. :) Quote

pam Posted January 5, 2010 Author Report Posted January 5, 2010 That link didn't work. I don't know what it was to link to, but I would hope that we wouldn't make fun of people that perhaps don't fit into what we might find as attractive. Quote
FairChild Posted January 5, 2010 Report Posted January 5, 2010 Although there may be too much me, I am pretty useful when cleaning needs to be done, a sandwich needs to be made, a boo-boo needs a bandaid and if you are young or old enough if it is in the right spot, lightly and lovingly kissed. Let's see a beautiful person pull that all off. Quote

I don't know what it was to link to, but I would hope that we wouldn't make fun of people that perhaps don't fit into what we might find as attractive.LOL - it wasn't intended to be a proper link Pam - I was only kidding. The joke I was making (perhaps not very funny really, but I try) is that "ugly" people should fight back by excluding these self-styled "beautiful people" from their own circles. We all know that *real* beauty is what's inside a person.Makes me think of a version of Cinderella from one of my daughter's bedtime books. The king, queen and prince are discussing who to invite to the ball:"We must invite all the pretty girls of the kingdom!" said the king."No," said the prince. "We must invite all girls whether they are pretty or not. For not all nice girls are pretty and not all pretty girls are nice!""Well said!" exclaimed the queen, who was not at all pretty herself! Also if you could see me (I'm glad you can't!) you'd know I'm in no position to accuse anyone else of being a fatty!! New Year begins with a severe diet for me! Edited January 5, 2010 by Jamie123 Quote

Never heard of this site from any single. "Every year we see that some of our members from Western cultures eat and drink to excess over the holidays, and clearly their looks suffer," he said in a statement. "The U.S.A. has been grossly over-indulging since Thanksgiving. It's no wonder that so many members have been expelled from the network. We hope they will be back after shedding the festive pounds.""Is it elitist? YesSo what? I could gain 7.8lbs in a given day by drinking a gallon of water. You wonder what the world is looking for in civil marriage that seemed to fail shortly thereafter. Quote

The best thing for a guy to do when he sees a group of ladies is to ask the prettiest one to dance (assuming he's at a place where dancing is going on, Do it in the mall and he will look like a weirdo:D) or at least this is what i learned from Maxim (the male equivalent to Cosmo). As superficial as it is i think there is some truth to it.When my classmates and I had to choose a state to do a report on i got California because i was the only one who picked it. Everyone else wanted it but thought it was the oblivious choice so they all picked Florida. Quote
