Is that link that saintish posted a new tech thing?

Has anyone used it? how fast did it take to get a copy of your blessing?

I did the email thing (from the link I posted) and it took ~ 2 weeks. Of course I live in Utah so time spent in the mail was minimal.

I think it came about with the changes to LDS.org. its under the tools menu. after you log in it gives you the option of requesting you own blessing or a direct line deceased ancestors blessing. pretty neat stuff, have no clue how long it takes i'd imagine a few weeks at the fastest.

I'm considering getting another Patriarchal Blessing once I have my blessings restored. I spoke with my Stake Patriarch and I know this can happen but has anyone heard of this happening?

It's actually common in the Community of Christ church, they now call it an evangelists blessing as that's a gender neutral term. As for the LDS church I have heard of it but its definitely rare.

i've not heard of it but i guess anything is possible. i had mine twice because the recorder was messed up and the patriarch couldn't transcribe the first blessing. i know of a patriarch that got his blessing twice. once when he first joined the church and the second was after he out lived the first.

When I ordered a copy of my husbands about a year ago it came in less than a week. I was impressed.

I lost my patriarchal blessing. I cant find it, since I've moved around a lot. Is there a way to get a copy of it ?

I beleive that patriarchal blessings are recorded and are stored now, so I think you just need to ask your bishop for who to contact about it, and he can get ya started on getting a copy. Edited by Blackmarch

he's really old and after much prayer and fasting etc he realized everything in his blessing had been fulfilled. he waited around a few yrs to die when it didn't happen he figured he needed some direction on where to go from there. so he talked to the stake pres and got permission for a second. i'm sure being a patriarch influenced the decision. he was recently put on inactive status because being a patriarch was proving to be to draining.... now he's on the high counsel and travels nearly every sunday. (note: out here where the stake can be 2.5 hour drive from one end of the stake to the other that's not a lazy man's calling). lol

i love it when he speaks, he's fun to listen to. his conversion story is one of the best i've ever heard. lol

People have provided links on how to obtain a copy.

https://apps.lds.org/pbrequest/security/login.jsf this link will take you where you need to go. as long as you have an lds.org account you should be able to request a copy without needing any information about where you received your blessing/ who did it.

I just used the link provided ... took about 15 seconds. This has been an answer to a prayer ... I had on my to do list to get a copy of my blessing ... thanks so much.

I think your ward secretary should be able to get a copy of it. Good luck!
