sister_in_faith Posted November 18, 2011 Author Report Posted November 18, 2011 Did you know there is actually only one place where tame foxes have been bred? You can read about them here. It is a very interesting research/genetics project that was developed to help us understand the domestication process of our current dogs. As it says on the site, the now domesticated and tame foxes are "''as devoted as dogs but as independent as cats, capable of forming deep-rooted bonds with human beings", so they would make a good happy-medium for someone who would like a dog-like cat or cat-like dog. It is a project that I have been following since I first heard about it a couple years ago, and I think it would be awesome if the domesticated fox became a regular pet.Yep, this is exactly what I was thinking about. Very cool PBS show about this research. Amazing how the gentle ones were so gentle, and the not so gentle ones were, well, not. Quote
Traveler Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Okay - I can say I like cat and I like dog but I am not sure I love either. I have thought about writing a little book titled "Best Way to Wok Your Dog or Cat." The Traveler Quote
JudoMinja Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 If I were to choose a dog based on nothing more than the cuteness factor, I think I would go for a Yorkshire terrier. Quote
mordorbund Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 I prefer kittens. The soft fur on their pelts makes a superior coat. Quote
pam Posted November 18, 2011 Report Posted November 18, 2011 Can we try and use smaller pictures? :) Quote
