Bini Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 I'm sure I'll get a lot of different opinions on this, which is great, I'd love to hear them. Long story short. I'll be meeting The Walking Dead's, Norman Reedus, and I'm wanting to pose a staged kiss for my photo-op. My friends like the idea but there's been an opinion that it's super inappropriate. Really? I can totally separate reality from "not real", and this, isn't real. It's all done in fun, nothing more. I see little difference from a married actor kissing his on-stage or on-screen costar. None of it's real :) What's your opinion? omegaseamaster75 1 Quote
Guest Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Not something I would do. There are tons of other great photo op ideas that doesn't involve my having to sit my daughter down to explain... I mean, if it's my job and I get millions of dollars for it, it would be worth the talk... Quote
NeuroTypical Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) My take on the issue involves choosing based 100% on the comfort and ease of your husband. If he has even the slightest hint of an issue with it, even if you might suspect he's keeping it to himself in order to support you in this fun thing, I'd think twice about going through with it. I do have a very cool video about the time Nick Santonastasso teamed up with the cast and crew to prank Norman. Edited November 2, 2014 by NeuroTypical Quote
PolarVortex Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Actors on the stage are known to be acting. A single photograph in isolation could originate from a variety of contexts and situations that the photograph viewer, especially viewers many years from now, cannot be expected to know. If you want to stage something fun, simply swoon and roll your eyes, or shake his hands with an ear-to-ear grin. Seeing both your faces clearly will make for a much, much better photo, especially if this Mr. Reedus appears to be jubilant in your presence. Quote
Dravin Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 It's a real kiss if you're going to be kissing as opposed to some sort of stage kiss where it's just the appearance of kissing going on (faces close together, twist away from camera or what have you). This is a separate issue from if it's acceptable or not. Quote
NeuroTypical Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Something else I was wondering - does Norman know you, and does he know you're planning on staging this kiss? mordorbund 1 Quote
The Folk Prophet Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 I'd be okay with it for my wife, but I'd trade it for one free kiss from the female celebrity of my choice. Quote

I don't think I would personally do something like that. but I don't think you'll go to hell for doing it either.....I'd say check with your hubby. thats the important person. Quote
Bini Posted November 3, 2014 Author Report Posted November 3, 2014 LM, I remember when I first saw that "scare". He's a good sport and encounters crazy stuff almost everyday it seems. No, he doesn't know me. But he'll do the kiss. I'm certainly not the first fan. To clarify, no saliva will be swapped, at least that's not what I'm planning...Haha @ TFP! That's a fair trade. NeuroTypical 1 Quote

Crypto Posted November 3, 2014 Report Posted November 3, 2014 Aren't kisses supposed to be something special between people in a relationship?(not referring to on the hand or cheek) Quote
Bini Posted November 3, 2014 Author Report Posted November 3, 2014 Crypto, I think that depends on your upbringing and culture. omegaseamaster75 1 Quote
Silhouette Posted November 4, 2014 Report Posted November 4, 2014 (edited) I wouldn't do it. Too much potential for it to crop up later somewhere and cause a problem. I'd avoid the "appearance of evil".Having said that, I would be hard-pressed not to make the same request of my favorite actor Alan Rickman. Edited November 4, 2014 by Silhouette Quote
