I miss that comic strip. I used to have a lot of the Calvin and Hobbes book collections but I've lost them in moves

He is pale and has very light hair.  On the line between blond and light brown.  The thing is that my wife was REALLY blonde.  As a kid, she was a toe-head.  She was almost an albino.  So, our kids are somewhere in between us.

By the time I met her, she had cornsilk or lighter hair.  Now she has graying light brown hair.  Our kids as they get older also see a darkening in their hair.  My oldest kids have dark brown, but not black, hair.

When I was ten-years-old, I wrote Bill Watterson a letter.  He actually wrote back a very short, but personal reply written on Calvin and Hobbes stationery.

I also lost most of my Calvin and Hobbes books over the years, but my wife got me this for our one-year wedding anniversary:

A boy I know once dressed as Harry Potter. This was a while back; it could have been before any of the movies came out. Another little boy thought he was the real Harry Potter, he looked so much like the illustrations.

That's a good idea.  I'll see if we can find some calvin-like clothes (not to be confused with Calvin Klein) and a big stuffed tiger.

The more I hear about Bill Waterson, the more I like him.  He seems to be a sensitive, caring soul, willing to put himself out there to help folks.  I used to be ticked at him because he didn't defend his IP, which led to a generation of Ford trucks showing Calvin urinating on Chevys, but that was before I had learned some pretty cool stories about him from firsthand sources.
