Fether Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 My wife and I are looking to move to Vegas for my work. What are the safe parts of the city? Or maybe are there good areas just outside of Vegas to live? Quote
NeuroTypical Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 I don't remember any specifics, but I've visited active LDS folks in Vegas before. Good folks, nice neighborhoods, church wasn't hard to find. There's been a Vegas Temple for almost a full three decades, so us Mormons shouldn't be too hard to find. Quote
mrmarklin Posted June 14, 2018 Report Posted June 14, 2018 Avoid North Las Vegas. The East area near the Temple is a good area. Henderson and boulder city are close to LV and there is a lot of housing there. workingonit and Fether 2 Quote

And actually, if you are renting, one other tip is to see where the missionaries live! . i've found the mormon housing coordinators have a really good handle on the balance between cost, value, and safety. it's like they've done a lot of your work for you. Good luck in Las Vegas, Sir! http://www.city-data.com/forum/las-vegas/ https://www.trulia.com/real_estate/Las_Vegas-Nevada/crime/ Quote

No doubt! https://www.unlv.edu/barrickmuseum/exhibitions#current-exhibitions They have this museum that is good at getting traveling exhibitions from big art galleries for modest prices. Quote
BeccaKirstyn Posted June 15, 2018 Report Posted June 15, 2018 (edited) Summerlin, Henderson/Boulder City, and Centennial Hills. Also depending on where you're commuting to work, double check what freeways you will be using. The I-15 is a mess anytime of the day. Stick to something accessible using the 215 and 95. Or no freeways if you can make that happen. Vegas native. Also, it has a very large LDS community. My dad is the bishop in a stake that just got realigned for the 3rd time in a year because of how much the area is growing with new LDS members moving in.
