19nazzy Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Yesterday I finally got the answer I've been looking for for an awfully long time. I hadn't received an answer as I've been praying about it over the past couple of months and I had doubts as to whether I would actually be able to serve a mission. So yesterday I decided to pull one of the tactics used by some prophets in the Book of Mormon and I prayed until I received my answer, which I did. It was undeniable and the confirmation I needed to move forward with it. I know it isn't going to be easy but now I know for sure that it is what I need to do. Quote

Garden Girl Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 Hello 19nazzy... I hope your missionary experience will be wonderful for you... attitude has a lot to do with it... and willingness to really put your heart into it. The Garden Girl Quote
avatar4321 Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I knew a guy, real social, but I dont think he really had a testimony. Said he wouldn't go on a mission. I remember because several of us were praying for him to be inspired to go. and then two days after he said he definitely wasnt he received a strong answer that he should. it took him nearly 8 months to get the papers in and get his call. But once he knew the Lord wanted him to go, he went. It was amazing to watch. Now from what i hear, he is on fire. Don't be discouraged regardless what happens. Just remember the revelation. It will sustain you and you will see miracles happen. Quote
rickg Posted November 13, 2007 Report Posted November 13, 2007 I'm very happy for you! B) Don't forget that answer. You-know-who also knows that you got such an answer, and has some nasty tactics to discourage you. I grew up never wanting to go on a mission. No way. Wasn't gonna do it. Couldn't see myself spending 2 long years knocking on doors. But I did. Went out almost a year late, but I did it. And am very glad I did. Quote
19nazzy Posted November 13, 2007 Author Report Posted November 13, 2007 Thanks for the kind words everyone :) I've been working on my papers online for a while (just in case I decided to go so I wouldn't be completely starting from scratch) and I've got an interview tonight so things are looking good. 19nazzy Posted December 15, 2007 Author Report Posted December 15, 2007 Well certainly. Finished my papers about a week and a half ago, sent them to the bishop, he finished them and I have my interview tomorrow. Then it'll go to the stake president and I hope that he can have them done by the end of the month. Preferably by Christmas if possible. Quote

Still_Small_Voice Posted December 16, 2007 Report Posted December 16, 2007 Congratulations on making an edifying choice. It was serving a full time mission that I really began to start understanding the teachings of Jesus Christ. You really learn by doing. Quote

19nazzy Posted January 21, 2008 Author Report Posted January 21, 2008 you will hear something within 2 weeks.....:)I'm actually up in Canada so it'll take a little longer for me. They told me the average to wait is about 4 weeks although it could come faster or it could be slower. Trying not to think about it though Quote
19nazzy Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 I got my mission call today! I'm so excited right now. Nice to come home for lunch and have my call waiting. So I opened it up and read that I will be going to..... The Florida, Ft. Lauderdale mission. I leave for the MTC in just under 4 months. Something that I am looking forward to will be the weather. Here I am in good old Canada with a bunch of snow sitting outside my window. And I'll be going to sunny and warm Florida. I'm very excited. Quote
