Over the past few days there have been instances where I'll successfully pull up Third Hour, read it, post, and then an hour or two later go to check on a conversation I was in only to find that Third Hour either won't connect or won't load.

These outages seem to be sporadic, but have a higher chance of happening in the evening US time.

Is anyone else having spotty connectivity with Third Hour?

Trying to figure out what's me and what's what.

Thanks.

Yes.  It's not you, it's the server (or something between you and the server that's also between me and the server).

Back around the time of the Vice Presidential debate last year my cable provider (I have an all-in-one cable / internet / landline phone package) did some work to "upgrade" the 5G service in my town, and since then the 5G has been slower and less reliable than my 2G, which in turn is also periodically dropping out now.

Because we're able to reliably access the 5G on our mobile devices my parents don't want to make waves, but it tends to make a hash of things when I'm on the desktop.

They're clearly doing something on the server.  Yesterday after a gateway timeout that indicated it was indeed the server itself, trying to load the forums took me back to the ThirdHour home page.  Clicking the forum link there jumped away and right back to the home page...

I suspected that the server for the website was hacked.  When I attempted to connect I received a screen indicating that I had been banned.    Since I am able to post at this point – I assume that either the hack banned me or cleared me.  😁

As long as we're filing bugs, I made a post in this thread pointing out that the AI that wrote the article didn't keep track of the numbers correctly. @zil2 mocked me over an apostrophe, suggesting that I posted mid-sentence. My side-splitting response defended AI's and suggested that one may have ended me and taken over my account. Zil replied as though my response was in earnest, and I was fully prepared to resurrect this old thread.

I was having fun with the fact that AI looks exactly like "AL", with the "L" in lower case, which happens to be a man's name: Al.  Thus, instead of "AI's" being the abbreviated plural (I object to that style guide) for Artificial Intelligences, I was pretending like it was the possessive for some dude named Al.

If you're gonna be a historian, you really need to check your facts with primary sources, dude.
