  1. Adding to others posts...I was asked several times in the earlier part of my church conversion, so I really feel your great distress friend. "READ....READ....and READ (study)". You will put in more hours in doing exactly that and only give a small portion of it to the students. A good friend, Elder Gonzales was a seminary for 15-years in the Los Angeles area and did such a wonderful superb job at this calling that in a sense, it was sad to see him become a Seventy. It took much of his time with always with "preparation." What I found that his students love about him, was his genuine love for them and of Christ. So to add from his past, love your students and focus on the Savior for guidance and aid in your calling.
  2. This is true but there are is another step from leaping from the "second state" of the celestial glory after receiving such ordinances to the third state as I already pointed out in the last post.
  3. I was going to post but thanks... Adding to your post, what is important first is carrying out the ordinance then comes the process of "sanctification" and later - "justification". This is done before anyone enters therein within the highest state in the celestial glory. There is long a winded thread concerning what, why, and how it is done here that can help those who desire to enter into the third state of the celestial kingdom. If not, we have also have the second state within this same glory. But to summarize "sanctification", it has an eye to our own preservation for usefulness—for executing, carrying forward, and perpetuating the work of the Most High God with humility. Of the state of sanctification, Brigham Young said: ". . . it consists in overcoming every sin and bringing all into subjection to the law of Christ. God has placed in us a pure spirit; when this reigns predominant, without let or hindrance, and triumphs over the flesh and rules and governs and controls as the Lord controls the heavens and the earth, this I call the blessing of sanctification."
  4. True, you can move on but don't stop in being a friend.
  5. Adding to other posts....as a friend, you can only love him but it requires patience, being an exemplar before him, and allot of fasting with sincere prayers. For me, if GOD was patience with me over the meaningless things I did, I can be patience for my enemies and friends in finding a greater truth.
  6. Hymn 302? Don't you get emotional when that is part of the sacrament closure hymn? I do...
  7. The Japanese have difficulty pronouncing the church name in their own language also...
  8. Who cares...at least you have the depth of humilty where some here really don't. You are loved Maya, now, and forever.
  9. D&C 93:24 "And truth is knowledge of things as they are, and as they were, and as they are to come" (this is Omniscient) Bytor, do you have Apostle Maxwell's book, "All These Things Shall Give Thee Experience"? If so, read chapter 2. So to answer this, it would be YES.
  10. It is not that the temporal (mortal body) is likeness (copy) of our spirit image, it is the spirit image that molds (more like elasticity) to our temporal likeness (this is according a Joseph Smith statement).
  11. I didn't read this before I posted my remarks concerning this Apostle. But you are right...most do not understand that they do not always agree on everything. I learned this from one of the Apostle a few years ago when someone asked about this.
  12. I will have to say, I truly marvel of the depth and great knowledge of this wonderful Apostle but only the brethren would know the inside knowledge of what transpired. Does this take away anything that he accomplish? Not one bit. I still have and will always retain, the Mormon Doctrine in my own collection. Thanks for standing up in his behalf...I do stand next to you. This also includes, Martin Harris, Oliver Cowdry, and others who fell away and came back to the fold.
  13. Ram, Prophet we do know will not lead us astray but not the apostles. It has already seen in the church a few have fallen. But to continue on here, same members here cannot be bother to search or even research for themselves but always seek a quick easy answer.
  14. If Adam and Eve had almost 60 children, 90-percent of them failed...could Adam and Eve still celebrate? No! Sad day...
  15. One thing I did learn from this professor, the Savior had already been doing miracles long before this day recorded event.
  16. If the bible was complete, there is enough room in my house to facilitate the massive amount of printed pages recorded since Adam until now.
  17. Agency has always been in this universe or what I term, our small domain. It has been with our progression forever in different levels and will continue on into the next state of life. It is the very existence on how we progress to this state as Spirit Children. Even most members won't give credit to many sermons that Joseph gave, but, it was a method for Joseph to expand the mysterious received to those who "eyes are open" and "ears that can hear". Others? Well, as the Savior use to teach parables in His ministry, it was not for the general public but those who are ready to see and hear it. Justice, there was a period of time where the few who did not cross the line in the pre-mortal world, had to go forth and be missionaries to save those whose pride was not hard enough to fully accept the plan. There was no quick judgment after the this counsel. We will learn a great deal when the Lord returns concerning this matter on what transpired before we came here. I believe it was not even in Adam's capacity even to approach the tree of life. We are missing alot of written journal from Adam on the details of his daily life and emotional impact it had on his life. Even when I read the non-canonized version of the Book of Adam, it talked a great deal of trying to return back to the garden on many occasions and giving his experience of trials he faced and failed. Though, there is no way of telling how much is fable without having Joseph Smith in translating it again, it gives some form of problems Adam did face and not having a complete knowledge of the life and the world. So the answer would be 'no' to eating the Tree of Life. Until it is more clear with further writings from him, we just have to wait to see if this was true. Remember, GOD gave him a commandment. He was aware of what to eat and what not to eat. The best part, being a-mortal, he still require to eat food. :) Even GOD did not call it a sin but a transgression, it was do to the fact GOD told him. Yes! He was accountable for this simple fact. Not finishing on this note, there maybe other instructions that GOD gave him and them afterward that we are not aware of and the day will come, the complete dialog will be there for us to read or even to see it for ourselves.
  18. I was surprise to hear a comment by President Packer concerning his stay in the spirit world (gave at the funeral). That was an eye opener.
  19. Nice but not according to Joseph Smith.
  20. We are even told to love our enemies. This can include other LDS members.
