How does home/land ownership affect your country?
applepansy replied to Bini's topic in General Discussion
well I guess that makes my friend delusional about her land lease. :) additionally: I've learned to never be 100% certain about anything. There are exceptions to everything. -
Would he qualify for a service mission close to home?

Thank you for posting this Skippy. I've been attending temples for 37 years including a lot of open houses. I don't know why yet but watching this brought tears to my eyes this morning. I appreciate the opportunity to feel the spirit.

Don't let this experience make you cynical. There are people who can be trusted. There are people who are exactly who you see them to be. Just be aware from now on.

Really 100%? Yes property rights are a big deal and they do differ from state to state. -

I haven't read the whole thread and maybe someone has brought this up. Not all states in America allow land ownership. A friend who lives back east told me they can't own land, they rent it for 99 years or something like that. -

Feeding the missionaries -- need ideas!

I feed the missionaries whatever we're having. The only thing I might do different when we have the missionaries over is make dessert. :) Oh and ... I set the table and use a table cloth. LOL -
Can anyone help me find material for nonmembers?
applepansy replied to CiVi's topic in General Discussion
The missionaries have small booklets on the core principles of the gospel. -
Several years ago I read the book that goes into more detail about the birth order traits. There are a lot of variables, which is why I have to last born. LOL

If you haven't seen the laughing bride video just go to youtube and search laughing bride. But you don't need to see it to watch the follow up: Its amazing how Heavenly Father's hand is in all things. How many people will watch the follow up and hear how chastity before marriage will make marriage so much more wonderful!

The Achiever, the Peacemaker and the Life of the Party: How Birth Order Affects Personality | Dr. Gail Gross I'm a first born (which I think is complicated by being the first born grandchild too), married to a second born, living with my last born-married (to a 2nd born)-adult child and raising an only born in a house with FIVE adults. The only child's father is sort of a last born too, he was my last son. We need a full time live in therapist. Its a little overwhelming in my house.

Christianity & Homosexuality - What's Fair?

I found it: As for the question in the subject of this thread. Fair doesn't play a role. -
sometimes we need a laugh button on this board. LOL

Christianity & Homosexuality - What's Fair?

I'm going to paraphrase a quote from Jeffery R. Holland: The outcome of good and evil has been determined. All that is left to be decided is which side you're going to be on. Does it matter if we're losing in the public square? In every dispensation the followers of Christ have had to stand against great opposition. I don't think it will be different in this dispensation. I saw a meme on FB that someone who stuck to his conviction was applauded but today someone who stands up for their convictions is labeled with hate filled names like rascist or homophobe or etc. "Go and sin no more" can be said with love. -
I'm glad there is a ray of light in the middle of everything else.

What was the last live production you saw?
applepansy replied to Wingnut's topic in General Discussion
Its amazing. I love it. But...why doesn't it count. Its a live production. -
I think taking your RS Pres with you is smart. Any other impartial 3rd party would work. Remember to pray before the meeting. I wish you all the best.

We can all think our life is too hard when we stop being grateful and expressing thanks to our Heavenly Father for our very breath. I heard another John Bytheway talk. In it he told about going into a friend/mentor and saying "I didn't deserve _____________" His friend responded "Did Christ deserve to be crucified? Did Joseph Smith deserve to be in Liberty Jail or killed? ...." And he went on. Our scriptures are filled with stories of people who did their best to follow Christ and suffered horribly. Did they deserve what they got? What makes any of us think we're better enough that we don't deserve trials? From what the OP has said her husband is whining. If he will stop whining and start being thankful his life will change and when it does his wife and family's life will change too. I understand what you're saying though. It would be helpful if she could find out why he's feeling like he does. Feelings are neither right now wrong, they are just feelings. Its only when we act inappropriately on our feelings that we get in trouble. This husband is in trouble. But...it might take a counselor to help him when he's blaming his wife. -

When he uses the term Molly Mormon. Say Thank You. Think about it. What is a Molly Mormon. She's a Mormon woman who is trying her best to serve her husband, her family, her neighbors. She's a woman who is trying to follow Christ. Molly Mormon is a compliment. There was once I was offended by being called a Molly Mormon for feeding the child of an abusive mother who was renting our basement apartment. I was only offended for about 5 minutes. That's how long it took me to think through the hurt and anger and realize it was a compliment. Stay close to the Lord and continue to be a Molly Mormon. Your husband will come around, or not. Its his choice.
