  1. I agree Just_A_Guy. And the reason we keep those secrets is because they are sacred. So maybe the phrase should go, "Its not secret, its sacred secret." :)
  2. Of course Raised up to the Jewish nation could be interpreted that these two witnesses wherever they are from were raised to to go unto the Jewish nation. Now if it said Raised up IN the Jewish nation then it would be a bit different. But it's not like I'm going to leave the church if the two witnesses are Jewish. The important thing is that there will be two witnesses.
  3. Hmm. That's interesting about light. For me the seven days of creation are more like phases rather than consecutive time periods. And they are undefined time periods, they maight not even be the same length as each other. I find it interesting how science and religion come closer together as they both improve.
  4. Yes he was. Masons is not an evil organization.
  5. I think that essentially that is true. All we need to be saved if for Christ to give us his "stamp of approval" if you will. Anything other than his stamp of approval can not save us. Nothing we do can ever save us. So the question comes, "How do we get His stamp of approval?" By having that relationship with Christ. So the next question is how to we have a relationship with Christ? Can we simply say I believe? Is that enough? If we believe in CHrist then we should obey Him shouldn't we? John 14:15 15 If ye love me, keep my ccommandments. Doctrine and Covenants 82:10 10 I, the Lord, am bound when ye do what I say; but when ye do not what I say, ye have no promise. So in order to be saved we need to have Christ's grace(aka His approval)>We get his approval by havinga personal relationship with Him>We have a personal relationship with Him by coming to know Him and obeying His commandments. So can works save us? No they can not. Only the grace of CHrist can do that. But works are needed so that Christ will give us His grace.
  6. So which principle are we following now that is a mistake? How do we know that what we are doinf right now is what God wants us to do?
  7. One interpretation I've heard is that they wont neccesarily be preaching but will be holding back the invading army. But from what I've read it seems more to me that they will be preaching in an already occupied Jerusalem.
  8. So if polygamy was a mistake then it was against God's will(since He had not commanded it). So then God will allow His prophets to lead His people in opposition to God's will.
  9. Thanks everyone. I should be able to post some pictures soon. It's pretty busy around here ya know.
  10. Said what he said she said they said, said said said said said!
  11. My daughter was born today: July 28, 2009. 7 pounds 13.5 ounces, 21.5 inches. She's my wife and I's first child. It's really amazing.
  12. Blessing require the faith of those receiving, giving, and present for the blessing. Volunteering someone to give a blessing doesn't allow the person who is sick or injured to have faith and request one. If you just went around asking people if they would like a blessing chances are very few(members) would say no, regardless if they had faith or not. So for me, even if I think about giving someone a blessing I won't do it unless they ask for it.
  13. If God commanded it through His living prophet and my wife and I recieved personal confirmation of it I would not have a problem. You still haven't told me what is wrong with a man having more than one wife. So you're saying we can't trust that anything a prophet says is from God. I'm not asking what is wrong with in view of modern revelations. We all know that God has forbidden the practice in our day. What I want to know is what is so horrible about the practice itself. Yes I'm married almost a year now. My baby daughter should be arriving any day now. Here's a message I posted in another thread that explains why I don't have a problem with polygamy: Honestly I wish polygamy was still acceptable in the church(not refering to one wife dying and marrying another). I'm sorry if people get upset at me for saying this but honestly I do. While serving my mission in the Philippines I saw this over an over. There were way more righteous women than men. In one branch I served in there was the Branch President, us two missionaries, the branch president's teacher and decon aged sons, and about twenty women. Most of the women were not married. So they face the option of marrying an unworthy man(chances very likely) or waiting for a righteous men to marry(very reasonable but less likely). Another woman I knew didn't marry a member and committed suicide after her husband had an affair. Another woman had her husband (who was working in canda) break it off with her(they got married in the Phils and there is no divorce so technically they are still married). Now apperently she is a prostitute. there are tons more examples. Sure you can say that if these women were really righteous they would have worked through the situations better. I'm not saying the men are all to blame but how much better would it have been if they had a righteous husband. So for me I wish there was polygamy so that righteous women in the Philippines(which by far outnumber the righteous men) could have a righteous husband. Even if it wasn't me they were married to, they deserve something better than what they have right now. Of course it would be a nightmare if I could marry more than one woman and they were from the Philippines. The government fees and immigration paper work for my one wife was insane. I'd go insane if I had to do it for more than one woman. I'm sorry if this makes me unrighteous or a bad person. They need rightous men so badly and I wish I could do more. But having said that I did marry a Filipina and we are happily married. She is pregnant with our first child, a daughter. So while I wish I could do more, I am more than happy to be a righteous husband for my wife. I'm working to be the best I can be for her. Since we have been married Oct 08 I have become much more responsible, and I have a long way to go. I'm thankful for the opportunity to be married to such a wonderful woman. At least I can be a righteous husband to her. I asked here[sic] once what she [and] where she would be now if we hadn't gotten married. She said she probably would be living in Manila(she's not from there). She also said she probably would not have married in the temple neither woud[sic] her husband have been a member.
  14. So all the Old Testament prophets were just horny too eh. I guess the twelves tribes of Isreal weren't really in Heavenly Father's plan he just had to put up with them cuz one of his prophets couldn't keep it in his pants. BTW, what is wrong with having a "bunch of wives", anyway? Not considering it is forbidden by the church right now. I mean inherently wrong in the practice.
  15. Prophets have said men live on the moon...and the sun.
  16. That must be the magical egg that Mormon spoke of in 4 Nephi 2:12
  17. So how about contributing positively and posting YOUR list of signs of the End Times.
  18. Yes, In preparation for the Dawning of the Age of Aquarius.
  19. Aren't two members of the first presidency already incharge of that area?
  20. Could you provide scriptural references?
  21. There they're green now. Is that better? Sorry, I didn't think of green in the first place.
  22. I wouldn't have a problem if God revealed it through His prophet and confirmed it to me through personal revelation.
  23. Ah that's it! All celestialized planets merge together and form a sun. Brilliant! Hehehe.
