Yes. They did have physical bodies. And those bodies HAD to be immortal because physical death was one of the results of the fall. I don't know. But (coming from LDS belief and my personal opinions) Heavenly Father and Heavenly Mother both have Physical bodies that are immortal yet they cannot produce offspring with physical bodies. They produce spirit offspring. Don't ask me why or how, that's just my observations. They aren't. Physical bodies by their very nature are physical. But a physical body can be immortal and mortal. True. Yep. Keep asking.

Why did satan tempt Adam and Eve to eat the friut?

Brigham Young also said that Adam was God and that men live on the moon and in the sun. -

How is gaining the ability to procreate greater than losing a perfect immortal body? You should also recall that Eve was cursed in child bearing. All effects of that fall. Changing form a state of near perfection to mortality. No matter what advantages a mortal body has it is still a lesser(cursed) state. -

Exactly, Why would they be punished for something they did right? -
Well fo rthe sake of discussion tlets say that Adam and Eve could not produce children in the Garden. The only way they could is by changing their bodies from an immortal perfect state to a mortal state capable of bearing children. This could only be accomplished by eating thr fruit of the tree of knowledge. If Heavenly Father would have commanded them to eat of the fruit He would be an unjust God. Because eating the fruit changed their bodies from an immortal state to a mortal one. And such an action would have been a punishment for an immortal being. If God commanded them to eat they would have been punished for following God's commandment. It makes even less sense that God would punish somebody who follows His commandments. He HAD to command them not to eat of it or else He would have been an unjust God.

Why did satan tempt Adam and Eve to eat the friut?

Well I believe Satan's plan was for Adam and Eve to eat the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil and then have them eat of the fruit of the Tree of Life. That way they could not die and would have been stuck forever in their fallen state. God's plan would have been halted since there could not be an atonement. Because if Heavenly Father would have commanded them to eat of the fruit He would be an unjust God. Because eating the fruit changed their bodies from an immortal state to a mortal one. And such an action would have been a punishment. If God commanded them to eat they would have been punished for following God's commandment. What kind of just God punishes someone for following His commandments? He HAD to command them not to eat of it or else He would have been an unjust God. -
That's because it's a mix of doctrine and personal opinions. Becuase without intelligences God wouldn't have a kingdom. And without God intelligences couldn't progress. So it's mutually advantageous. Intelligences agree to obey God's laws. Sure, whatever. Well if God did choose the lesser intelligences for anything then there wouldn't be animals, plants, rocks, or any world. So we couldn't progress. Also why would God but a greater intelligence in a rock. Rocks can't progress to become like God. Just like us. If we don't make the right choices than we can progress. The level to which we progress is based on the choices we make. It's the exact same thing. A rock itself can't make choices but the intelligences who are attached to the matter that make up the rock can. And the choose to follow God. For example When Moses parted the Red Sea. All the water molecules(or whatever amount of matter an intelligence controls) are attached to an intelligence. When God commands the intelligences to move, they move. They moved their tiny bits of water out of the way and the Sea parted. Without intelligences the water just would have sat there. But if you want to get technical without intelligences the water never would have been there in the first place. It would all be free floating prticles of matter out in space. Well why does he give all of us a chance? God knows which ones of us will make it to the Celestial Kingdom. Why didn't he just pick out those ones and forget about the rest?
-
What I believe is that as intelligences we were not created by God. So God had no hand in our making. We were learning and growing and choice making intelligences. At some point God made a choice as to which ones would become his Spirit Children. At this point all the intelligences were divided into classes or groups. The most intelligent became His spirit children. The lesser ones gained spirits that would go into the "pre-human"(Neanderthal, ape-like humans, etc.) bodies. Lesser intelligences went into different types of animals spirits. Even lesser intelligences went into the spirits of plants. Still lesser went into the spirits that would form rocks and things. So depending on our level of intelligence we were given different levels of spirit bodies.

I think it would be an interesting experiment to try and build and ark. Load it with supplies and animals, float it and try to maintain it for the necessary period of time.

I have to agree with that. But personally I think mixes tend to be the most attractive.

I met my wife while on my mission. And I have to say on MY part the interest was there. But she didn't remember me at all when I called her three months after returning home. We dated over the internet for about a year. Then we were engaged for about three years. The whole time we were only together for one month every year. My dad's companion in England married a Sister missionary he served with. I heard that one of the missionaries in my mission had it in his patriarchal blessing that he would meet his wife on his mission. We always thought it would be a local. But it turned out to be an American sister missionary he despised while on his mission. They met at BYU I think. There were another pair of local(Filipino) missionaries that got married after their missions. But they served in the same mission. That's all the "missionary" marriages I can think of. I have some "great" stories of missionaries who dated while on their missions.

What did Jesus teach his Apostles that is not in the Bible?
deseretgov replied to Traveler's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Well it must have been much easier to keep secret things secret back then. The Apocrypha was formed of book considered too sacred for regular people to read. That how the word Apocrypha came to mean "not as good as the rest of the Bible". People who hadn't been part of the group that could read apochryphal books became leader of the church and looked down on the books. The Secret Book of Mark sounds interesting. I love Non-Biblical stuff. -
Because God's wife cannot produce children with Physical bodies. Now we have no idea how the production of children in Heaven occurs but We do know that it results only in the production of spirit children. And God's wife was already involved in the creation of Jesus' spirit. Well Christ had to have the ability to remain sinless, which must be a godly power. He also had to have the ability to have immortality. That way he could suffer for all the sins of the world. If not he would have died in the garden. But He also had to have the mortal ability to die. Because he had to willingly give his own life. If we was purely immortal it would have been impossible for him to die. So in a way he was sort of half and half. Some believe this. It does seem to be a natural conclusion to many of our actual doctrines. Because being a God isn't a requirement to being in the God head. the Holy Spirit isn't a perfected mortal. he's only a spirit, yet he is still a part of the Godhead. Hopefully some of that helped.

There already are four sides triangles. You're forgetting time.

Well I should get a picture of a rainbow and put it in my wallet. So I can constantly check to see if he second coming is near.

Poor auntie.

Well it is like the force after all. With a light side and a dark side.

Adam-ondi-Ahman and Far West Sacred Ground
deseretgov replied to Hemidakota's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
That's cool. Learn something new every day. About the fiber optic cable box stuff. If you look on the website about the temples you'll read that ground was dedicated for one in Adam-ondi-Ahman. You'll also read that there were plans to build a city of zion there named the City of Seth. -
He will be bound because we will no longer give in to his temptations.

Well while I was a missionary I saw a girl at our meeting house. It was my first time to see her. As soon as I saw her I almost heard a voice say, "She's the one." I talked to her and found out she was from a neighboring area and was in the district relief society presidency. I only saw her a couple times after that but about four years later she became my wife. I'm thinking that was probably a sign. And since I was a missionary I wasn't looking for a future spouse. I don't know why I recieved that inspiration at that time, but I did and it came to pass. Of course after my mission when I contacted her I didn't use what happened to try and convince her into liking me. I didn't tell her that until after we were already together.

Newly found revelation of Joseph Smith

So was the revelation that "some revelations are from God, man, or the Devil," from the devil? So what are they? -
Letter from Clement on Secret Book of Mark

This makes it sound even more like the temple. "wearing a linen cloth over his naked body...Jesus taught him the mystery of the kingdom of God."
