  1. Such a good kid, he was trying so hard to accept it. I'm sure he'll be a blessing to those he sees in San Diego. I'm jealous too, that place is wonderful (from the Imperial Valley myself )..
  2. I agree with almost all of it, except Italy also sent troops into Afghanistan. I'll have to look harder but more than a few sent them into that country, including Canada.
  3. He's an arrogant idiot
  4. Hey, I do that! It's just that good What I dislike intensely is when people know I want to watch a show on TV and they do the little huffing noises because I don't change the channel. I want to watch 1 hr of Bridezilla and by gum I will watch it!
  5. No no no no, I'd rather have bad drivers go slow in snow than bad drivers go fast in snow. I want to reach 100 years in this mortal life!
  6. Wouldn't it make more sense to get the taxes you have to pay taken out as you get your paychecks instead of saving the money to pay the taxes not paid during the year? Unless your savings account is a lot better than mine If I did that I'd earn probably about $0.50 through the year lol.
  7. I find it funny that the same arguments against MSNBC can be used against Fox news by those on the other side of the political spectrum. People are a lot alike in their reactions, proof we are all a part of the same family
  8. Wheee! I'm excited for you Welcome and enjoy.
  9. Yes, if they can have ties for the guys they should have a ready supply of cardigans for the girls. IDK what to do about a too short skirt though, do they safety pin the material to the dress hem? I can see the point of not wanting the other kids to think it's ok to wear inappropriate clothes, but teens are touchy creatures, prone to hurt feelings and grudges. Handle with care should be stamped on the foreheads of all teens, boys and girls.
  10. I would have tackled him
  11. They need to go to another dance, this time with a whole posse of fellow LDS kids to shield them from unthinking adults. Seriously, don't these people have sense enough to have a nice little chat with the kids instead of humiliating them?
  12. Strangling doesn't seem to be a very efficient way to kill a massive amount of pork, poultry, and beef. I don't know if any of the prophets have said anything about it. Interesting, question, I'll have to research it
  13. I was going to list all the different threads on this topic but my computer told me it was too much work If you look at the top of this page you will see a list of options like User CP, FAQ, etc. One of the buttons says 'search'. Put in WoW and you'll find a virtual cornucopia of opinions, links, and various tidbits of knowledge you can use to impress your friend. Enjoy!
  14. Luke 10 38 ¶ Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus’ feet, and heard his word. 40 But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. 41 And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: 42 But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her. It's always been one of my favorite lessons
  15. I was reading something in Mormon Times when I noticed an ad that kind've offended me. Missionary Depot - Liahona Bikes (Missionary Clothing-Missionary Supplies-Missionary Bikes) is the link to the website, but what the ad said was 'Never get lost on a Liahona'. I'm pretty sure you can get lost on a bike no matter what the name is. The sheer blatancy of the ad was striking. Here is the page I saw the ad on (but it'll probably change soon) MormonTimes - Mormon Media Observer: LDS politicians in spotlight Am I making too much out of it?
  16. Do you wear ponytails? I started losing hair about 1 month after I went on a ponytail kick. It mostly grew back except a little bit around the temples
  17. This is a chance for a priesthood holder (bishop, stake president, etc.) to have a nice long chat with all the boys on proper behavior in Church. It's not fair that your kids are bullied, and it's not fair that the other boy gets away with poor behavior. All three of them need to learn the lessons and feel the Spirit, after all.
  18. Interesting question, OP. I guess we'd do whatever was required by God. I wonder what would be more palatable to modern sensibilities, plural marriage or animal sacrifice?
  19. I know I need a personal time-out when I notice more clutter than normal in my house. My living space is a direct reflection of my mental state. However, other people in the household have a responsibility to step up as well. It cannot be the responsibility of one person to keep a household on the straight and narrow. And the definition of chaos can be different for every family. In my family order is most stuff off the floor and dishes done within a few hours. Some families might rely on military cleanliness. Each to their own
  20. I've been totally paranoid about paying the right amount in taxes ever since the year I had a $400 tax liability Talk about scared straight!
  21. I know about adjusting my tax rate too. I feel it's safer for my income to have just a little bit extra going to the gov't in case I made a mistake, and it's a little bit patriotic to give my gov't a loan for a year The sad thing about the EIC is not that it's 'woah free money, we're going to Disney Land!', it's more 'thank heavens we can pay rent and buy food this month' for a lot of people.
  22. Speaking as a single mom for wow 8 years I have to agree with you, bmy. The problem would be getting use to the husband being intimate with another woman.
  23. Awesome waves there, I'd go
  24. I remember the old days where you had to mail your 1040s to Fresno or Ogden then wait over 6 weeks for your refund (if you get one). This e-file took me about 1 hr (cause I messed up a link lol) and I'll get my refund in a few weeks. I've e-filed for about 6 years now (basically when it started). I guess what I'm saying is, WAHOOOOOO! Am I the only one that does tax forms for fun?
