  1. I don't know any Mormons who refer to themselves as "practicing Mormons". The usual term is "active". Hmmmmm
  2. There are also many writers who happen to be LDS who write books that are not intended for LDS audiences, mainly for content reasons. Sometimes their characters might happen to be LDS, and others might not be. My wife's books would not be read by most LDS for this reason, but many LDS do read them. My wife writes romance....steamy romance. Like the bodice rippers. But many of her characters are LDS. Being LDS is not what the stories are about. I guess my point is this: Do you want to be know as an "LDS Author" or an author who is LDS?
  3. congrats....see, what did i say earlier?
  4. Does that mean we should regularly compliment all the women in the ward about how nice their breasts are so they will have a good self-image?
  5. I would have smiled and said "I'm sure they won't mind sharing"
  6. Pam, they sent them so early so you would have time to finish reading them
  7. Melissa, keep in mind that there is a huge difference in being a SAHM and a WAHM. My wife work from home in her own business. She puts a lot of hours with our media company primarily converting books into different formats (kindle, mobipocket etc) for other authors to sell online. She also is writing her 3rd book to be published next April. Many people (VT's, sister missionaries, and other people) are under the mistaken impression that because wife is home that she is available at the drop of the hat for teamups, visits, phone calls etc. They do not understand that she is WORKING, not just sitting around. Big difference. We are blessed that she can work from home to help provide for our family.
  8. Next up....Bishop.
  9. You did the right thing.
  10. My family went to NY for 3 days. I won a trip that included airfare but of course did not include baggage. For a family of 4 we had 2 checked bags, my 2 children each had a backpack, and my wife and I each had 1 carry-on.
  11. welcome

  13. Many times blessings come out of things unexpectedly.
  14. I'm often focused on my 4 yr old son, trying to make sure everyone else is not focused on my 4 yr old son.
  15. Give the notice. It's the right thing to do. They may say they don't need you, and release you. If so you can walk away with a clear conscience.
  16. PC...how many are you in for so far? I'm trying to schedule when to have a couple of nice young men in white shirts and ties to come visit you.

  20. I grew up watching Little House on TV and once met Melissa Sue Anderson at a Library reading many many years ago. I loved the show and think my wife missed out.
  21. huh?
  22. The LDS temple or her personal temple?
  23. My wife is a huge fan of Little House, but refuses to watch the tv show in fear that it would spoil (substitute a word similar to mustardize that starts with a ba) what she read in the books. She is such a huge fan that the setting for her second book is a fictional Inn called Whittaker House located in Mansfield, MO where Laura lived after leaving The Prairie.
