If you were bishop of the LDS.net ward

9% will get you out of few callings too. I suggested that once to a member of the SP and he did not find it humorous. -

In the event of the Zombie Apocalypse...

I intend to bug in at Fort Mirkwood in the event of the zombie apocalypse. This one of my favorite places in the whole world. Thomas Canyon outside of Elko and Lamoille, Nevada. -
I thought we all lived in the mission field. I'm just a Mormon. I happen to live in a particular state, but my belief's are no different, doctrinally, then any other state or country. What I find most interesting about "Utah Mormons" as a label is when I press people for what they mean, they usually can't answer. When they eventually find something to say, always derogatory, I have had the exact same experiences in every state I've attended LDS services. I have found the behaviors they pin on "Utah Mormons" in Utah, California, New Jersey, Nevada, Arizona, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Kansas, Delaware, Idaho, Wyoming, Maryland and Oregon (those being the states I have most often gone to LDS services in). The worst offenders (in alphabetical order) have been Arizona, California, Delaware and Utah. I'll be in AZ for a couple of weeks. The ward I attend there has stopped using that term when I am in attendance. I hope because they have matured as opposed to being afraid of what I will say when they use that term.

I guess the first question is what does your dad mean by "orthodox Mormons?"

What's your basis for using the Thank button?

Usually because I agree. Sometimes for thoughtful or thoought provoking comments. Or to pad my stats.... -
Yep, tacky. I'd provide them with a toaster instead.

Find out which ward they are more comfortable with (probably going to be the one where they are living) AND that they will actually attend on a regular basis. That is where I would put their records and have them attend. Occasional attendance in the other ward would not be a big deal. Consistent attendance is much more important.

The war in heaven has become politicized on earth. It has never ended. Ezra Taft Benson, BYU Speeches, December 10, 1963, p. 17. “The scriptures tell us about the war in heaven over free agency—similar to the war we are going through now, where the devil's program was guaranteed security as opposed to the Lord's program of letting each choose for himself even if he makes the wrong choice. Once you understand these scriptures you will understand why the Presidents of the Church have opposed Communism, Socialism, and the Welfare State and you will see why you must oppose them, too, if you are in harmony with the word of the Lord.”

I bought what I could afford in my first home. I doubled it's value and moved into my current home. Any profit you make above your first cost is a good reason. You make some money to put towards a new home instead of wasting money renting.

Why don't you rent the car only long enough to drive there. Take a taxi to the port. Take a taxi from the port back to the car rental place when your cruise ends. Which cruise line are you going on? Where you going? We went in February to Haiti, Jamaica and Mexico on Royal Caribbean. Lots of fun.

Personally I would tell the coach that you are unhappy with their behavior and that you will be moving to a new team...and then move to a new team. I would not tolerate that.
-
I would meet with the coach and make it very clear that your family does not participate in sports on Sundays. I would tell him/her you would appreciate his/her help and support in this AND in getting the team to understand. I would also let him/her know if this was a problem and the support for this decision from the coach/team was not there, that you would take your child and play for a different team. If she is as good as you say, they will either take steps to accommodate you in this request, or another team that will make this accommodation will be happy to have your child on the team.

Money isn't everything. Take a job that you love. Professionally that was the best decision I ever made.

What Professional Sports Games Have You Been To?
mirkwood replied to EarlJibbs's topic in General Discussion
Utah Jazz and a variety of thier opponents here over the years. Real Salt Lake, Real Madrid when they played Real Salt Lake, Kansas City Royals, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies. A couple more MLB teams, but I was quite young and don't remember who. I hope some day to see Manchester United and Miami Dolphins games. -
Confronting her was not a problem, the moment and venue were not the best choice. Sometimes yelling has it's place.

Scary little box with a red x inside.

First off, drug tests are not cheap. Second, your child can not be tested without your permission and/or without a court order.
