Statism removes my free agency at many levels. It is the plan Satan offered up in the pre-mortal existence. Compulsion, the removal of agency, is a devilish principle. "There can be no compulsion in the kingdom of God. In the very beginning the Lord gave to man his freedom to act for himself to be an agent unto himself with the privilege, but not the right, to choose evil if he so desired, or to accept the truth which would make him free." Joseph Fielding Smith, Church History and Modern Revelation, Vol. 2, p. 191-192. Support for socialism/statism is support for devilish principles. If you support Obamacare, then by default, you are in support for socialism. God will hold anyone supporting such principles accountable. It is up to Him to decide what that entails, not me, but there will be an accounting for it.

MOE: I posted quotes that are damning to both sides of the political spectrum. The fact that you felt it was a direct attack on you and your political philosophies is very interesting and suggests you may be uncomfortable with some of your positions and where they line up with gospel principles. I know I felt that way at one time with some of my political positions. At the very least anyone should be using such quotes to examine where you stand in your support of politicl ideologies. If it makes you feel better, I was attacking devilish principles wherever they may lie or in whichever parties philosophies, not you. I do not consider myself a member of either party. I hold to a certain set of values and impose them into politics (much to many people's chagrin). I have voted left, right and center in many elections. I do as our leaders have counseled and seek after good leaders and then support them. I generally don't care what party they belong to as their principles will be their principles no matter what letter they put after their name. In some cases that letter will dictate thier principles. Both parties have issues. I believe one party has greater issues within it's principles and tend to be more supportive of devilish principles. I also believe the groundroots members of one party strive harder to correct such problems then the other. The idea that you would want members of a message board to contact your local leaders seems to me an attempt to validate your political positions. Such a call should be rebuffed on the spot, whetjher it was right or not. I think if you commit adultery that you will be held accountable too. Neither of those beliefs involve me calling your local leaders, who if I (or anyone else) were stupid enough to do so, would hopefully rebuff me on the spot.

I believe we will be accountable for our votes. If we vote for things and/or politicians whose agenda are contrary to God's prinicples then how can we not be accountable? Look at the quotes below and tell me that an indvidual who supports devilish principles will not be held accountable. You can not support Satan at no cost. Easy Preparedness: Why Food Storage and Emergency Preparedness?

I would suggest anything your family will eat. If it was me, I'd probably be doing rice and potato pearls.

I suffered for a year with a serious case of PTSD. Is that a good enough set of moccasins? I deal with dopers and the damage they inflict on those around them regularly. So I get to wear two different sets of moccasins on the issue. Good enough for you? I didn't toke up, drink booze, or use any other substance to deal with my anxiety or depression or any other mood swings I experienced. I would guess I've walked more then a few miles in those moccasins.

I've missed some concerts I wanted to attend over the years. I might go to one if it was a farewell tour of my favorite band. I'd also go if it was in a bar/tavern etc. I don't have to consume alcohol while I'm there. In fact most venues I've gone to alcohol has been served. Why should it matter if it was a bar or USANA? I've also participated in events due to unusual circumstances. Like next week I'll be on a cruise on Sunday. Should I skip out on all the events/activities because it is Sunday? That would be silly.

The divorce rate in law enforcement is not 50%. In fact it is quite a bit lower. Being in law enforcement prior to getting married reduces the risk of divorce as well. Police work has it's pros and cons. Shift work, working holidays and weekends, dealing with the losers of society most of the time. Low pay, average benefits. You get a pension after 20 years. I've been an police officer for 16 years and I am still glad I made the choice. I'm not divorced, nor contemplating it. I'm active in the church. So, as you can see pros and cons.

The new youth curriculum and how it had increased testimony of the Godhead and the Plan of Salvation. It was our Stake Conference this week. Little mirky was one of the youth speakers, I'll share his talk below. Good morning brothers and sisters. President ****** asked me to talk on the new teaching curriculum for our classes. This new curriculum has given the young men and young women an opportunity to participate more in class instead of listening to lectures all hour. The changes also let us decide where the lesson will proceed. I really enjoy this new curriculum because it gives me and my classmates the opportunity to have our questions answered, and we can decide what we will learn about on a general topic. I will first talk about the plan of salvation. We first heard about the plan of salvation in the pre-mortal life, in what the scriptures call our first estate. We don’t know much about what has happened in this time period, but we do know that we lived there as spirits. We know we made certain steps of advancement to prepare for the opportunity to live here on earth, be tested, and finally be judged into one of the three kingdoms of glory. These kingdoms are: The telestial, terrestrial, and celestial kingdoms. In the telestial kingdom it will be much like earth is now. This belongs to the people who have received the gospel, then rejected it. The terrestrial kingdom is the glory of the moon, which lets people enjoy the savior, but not the father. The celestial kingdom is the highest and is compared to the sun. We will be able to become gods, create worlds, have eternal happiness, have our eternal families, and more. You can read more about this in sections 76, 131 and 132 of the Doctrine and Covenants. We also know that our Father held a great council to explain why we would come to earth life. We had the opportunity of accepting or rejecting the plan of salvation. It was not forced upon us. The essence of the plan was that man would have an opportunity of working out his own life on earth, with God’s help. A leader was selected to teach us how to follow the plan and to redeem us from sin and death. God’s only purpose is to enable all of us to enjoy his gifts and blessings. He has provided a perfect plan to accomplish His purpose. We understood and accepted this plan before we came to the earth. God created Adam and Eve in His own image, with bodies of flesh and bones, and put them into the Garden of Eden. They were given the choice either to remain in the garden or to partake of the fruit of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and have the opportunity of experiencing mortality. They accepted this challenge, partook of the fruit, and thus became mortal and subject to physical death, sickness, and they would also experience all of the trials and other difficulties of mortality. Elder Bruce R. McConkie has said, “There are two purposes for life in mortality. The first is that we might gain experiences that we could not obtain in any other way. The second is to obtain tabernacles of flesh and bones. Both of these purposes are vital to the existence of man. We are now being tried and tested to see if we will do all the things the Lord has commanded us to do. These commandments are the principles and ordinances of the gospel, and they constitute the gospel of Jesus Christ. Every principle and ordinance has a bearing upon the whole purpose of our testing, which is to prepare us to return to our Heavenly Father and become more like Him.” All of this is possible because Jesus Christ. He is the centerpiece of the eternal plan of the Father. God sent His Beloved Son to overcome the Fall of Adam and Eve. He came to earth as our Savior and Redeemer. He overcame the obstacle of physical death for us by giving up His own life. When He died on the cross, His spirit became separated from His body. On the third day His spirit and His body were reunited eternally, never to be separated again. I’d like to bear my testimony; I know that this new curriculum has been designed by the lord for the youth. I know that this plan is the perfect plan for not only our world, but all other worlds, I know that if we endure to the end that we will be able to liv with our Father in Heaven again, and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I come from a part member family. One where my father was/is not a member. The vast majoriyt of my extended family is also non LDS. From that perspective I can gurantee that your attitude towards the beliefs of your family members, ones supposedly you love, is offensive in your derogatory and offensive attitude. It is probably time you took a step back and recognize that it is okay for others to believe something different than you...and that you do not need to be an *** about it. Quite frankly it is clear to me that you are actng that way towards your family and you will cause irreparable harm. Again, this perspective comes from someone who grew up in a largely non LDS family and lived with your type of hostilities. If you care about your family..stop the attitude.

Alma 48:17 Yea, verily, verily I say unto you, if all men had been, and were, and ever would be, like unto Moroni, behold, the very powers of hell would have been shaken forever; yea, the devil would never have power over the hearts of the children of men.

We attend church, we do family activities that do not involve someone having to be employed for us to engage in the activity, we watch TV, we play games together. We don't shop, we don't go to concerts, we don't go to the movie theater etc. I exercise 6 days a week, but not on Sunday. The only "normal" activity that occurs in our family is when I go to work. I work graveyards and my shift starts at 8 p.m.

You are 28. Ask your fiance if he cares one way or another and then do what you want after his input.

I have a container of coffee in my food storage. It sits there for a year unused and every summer for about a week my dad makes his coffee from it as he visits. When it becomes stale he throws it away and buys a new container. My dad is not a member (never has been). So am I breaking any rules? Yes that is rhetorical. Breaking the Word of Wisdom comes when a person who is a member of the church consumes proscribed items. Some of you are straining at gnats.

Back in high school I used to pick up one of my buddies early in the morning. Our routine was I just walked in the front door and met him in the kitchen. This one morning I open the door and walk in to see this tall guy with long hair and long beard. I stopped for a second thinking I was in the wrong house. Turns out his aunt who was staying with them was dating the bass player from the Oak Ridge Boys. I don't remember his name, just that he was a nice guy. He was there a few times until they either quit dating or she moved out, I don't remember which.

Do not tell your little children that is so inappropriate. If they turn into dirtbag teenagers then feel free to tell them that. I have chewed out more then one parent of young kids for saying that in my presence.

You are his parents, so it is your decision. I would like to nitpick one detail. It wasn't a real gun. It was a pellet gun. The proper care and handling of it should be one and the same, but call it what it was: a pellet gun.

Not to mention several GA's, apostles and two prophets. Someone in that last group might have gotten pulled over for speeding. :)

Why would you put yourself in a position to potentially fall in love with someone who does not share your values?

I like Games Workshop games. Most of them are well made. I deeply dislike thier business practices and hubris.
