I have guns, the house next to me has guns, so do the houses on either side of them, and on either side of them, plus the one across the street from me, the house next to him, the one next to him and the one next to him. Those are just the ones I know of on my street. Not a single rampant crazy shooter in the 12 years I've lived here.

Me too. I've spent the last 17 years shooting with them. Most are pretty good shots, a few are not. The training is not at a level I would like to see, but is far better then probably 99% of the population. I don't know what officers you are spending time around, but that is not my experience with the vast majority of the ones I've been around. Well trained civilians. That is what they would be.

Make it voluntary. Require the equivalent training that police officers get, which includes multiple qualifiers with their firearm each year and tactical training yearly.

Probably the only time I look at my profile is when I check my PM's and even then I'm not really paying attention to visitors. Sometimes I look at other people's profiles, being a little curious about the people I interact with on the forum.

We had spanish speakers (Span-ams) in the Philadelphia mission back in the 80's. They spoke spanish all the time. I was paired up with one for a few weeks and my companion and I had one contact that spoke english. The rest were spanish speaking.
