  1. I have 15 years in law enforcement. I've carried a Glock 17 for fourteen of the fifteen years. It is the best pistol I have used (yes you pagans I have shot other handguns). The most important thing is to find a gun that YOU are comfortable with. The different gun/caliber arguements are like the different car/make/model arguements. That said, with your age, you may find a 9mm easier on the body then the .40 or .45.
  2. Bini is correct, I am a police officer.
  3. A meth user I have spoken with described it like this: "I gave Satan the keys to my body and had to sit back and watch the ride." She quit using after that and has stayed clean ever since. Meth is equally destructive to both sexes. There is not a worse drug out there, not that any are good mind you, but meth is by far the worst. The worst fights I've been in at work have been with meth users.
  4. Bath salts = cheap high. People on bath salts are dangerous. The last one I fought I got worn out to the point I wondered how the fight was going to end. Fortunately in handcuffs. Good shoot on the officer's part.
  5. I have a "civil" relationship with my fil/mil. It is all I can do to make it civil with FIL. FIL used to always try and manipulate my wife about our "relationship." She finally learned (with my coaching) to tell him to talk to me and not her. Rotten man whom I have no desire to have any kind of relationship with. He has terrible relationships with everyone in his family. Good luck, it is a hard row to hoe.
  6. I've worked Sundays for many many years now. Where there is the will to find ways to keep the Sabbath holy while working, there is the way. There are things that I have done to keep the day holy and still function in my profession. My bishops and stake presidents have spoken favorably of me and how I treat Sunday. They have even given me a temple recommend and ward and stake callings. All that while working Sundays. Imagine that.
  7. Even with my profession and training, if I'm not at work and there is not a life in jeopardy, I practice this mentality....and LMM knows from numerous other conversations I'm no pacifist.
  8. Here is the quote:
  9. I missed that, I will go back and read again.
  10. I picked up the Eye of the World when it was first released.
  11. Definitely green. I'm about halfway through Towers of Midnight. I stopped reading the series after the abominable book 10. I refused to read further until reviews improved and the series was completed. I started reading the whole series a few months ago in anticipation of the final book being published. I was surprised that I enjoyed book 10 the second time through.
  12. Evidence mixed for Zimmerman's self-defense claim More than 200 pages of photos and eyewitness accounts released by prosecutors Thursday show a loud and bloody fight ensued Evidence mixed for Zimmerman's self-defense claim
  13. George Zimmerman had a broken nose, two black eyes and cuts on the back of his head the day after he killed Trayvon Martin, according to a medical report taken by his doctor. It also emerged on Tuesday that an autopsy showed skin on Trayvon's knuckles was broken. The new revelations bolster Zimmerman's claims that he was being punched and pummeled by the unarmed teen when he opened fire on February 22 in a gated community in Sanford, Florida. 14. Someday as part of her healing process this would probably be appropriate. There is NO excuse for this.
  15. I would tell him he was erroneous in his belief that he was my HT and that while he was welcome to visit my mother, to who he is assigned, the rest of my family would continue to have our visits with our own HT.
  16. No, but it does make me need to pee more often. So I suppose if I was praying and suddenly needed to pee it might make it harder to feel any prompting besides "go to the bathroom."
  17. You two need to have a loooong discussion about some things. The first thing you need to talk about is that you are married and decisions are yours as a couple...not yours as a couple and his family. That does not mean good advice can't be accepted, but it needs to be clear that the decisions are not theirs, but you and your husband's. There is nothing wrong with waiting on children...for a good reason. That good reason is determined between you and your husband, with input from the Lord. For us that meant my degree and establishment in my career (that = 8 years). That doesn't make it right for anyone else, unless they have consulted the Lord and received a similar answer. Being bullied into a decision is wrong as well. Manipulation = satan's plan and that just won't cut it in a marriage, not if you want it to last. My $0.02.
  18. I adopted this philosophy a long time ago. I'm happy to answer honest questions, I am not interested in arguing religion. I wish I had learned that lesson sooner.
  19. BUT, WHAT ABOUT JUSTICE FOR ZIMMERMAN? Lloyd Marcus -- But, What About Justice For Zimmerman?
  20. Point out where I did this. Then why would you make this ludicrous statement: and follow it up by saying this is how a soldier would think. If you have the training you say, you would not make/believe such a statement...unless you have another agenda on the topic of self defense. Not necessarily. Plenty of criminals do not freeze because a gun has been drawn.
  21. That doesn't make any sense. When using deadly force, you are trained to shoot at the largest target: center mass. Are we safe in assuming you have little or no familiarity with handling/shooting firearms and no tactical experience/training? It really does sound like you have already determined in your mind that Zimmerman is guilty.
  22. Where in the world did you come up with this idea?
  23. The parents maybe, but not a lot of the other so called supporters. My prediction is acquital, followed by rioting.
