An interesting note, although this may be off topic, and I of course lack a source atm but I saw something or the other somewhere that noted that while vegetarians overall have a lower cancer rate than their meat eating friends, they had a 30 something precent higher chance for specific types of cancers than those who indulge in meat. My personal opinion, veggies are great, but have a bite of meat from time to time.

Extend the "Mormon Moment" help me get on the Amazing Race

Somehow, this represents sending waves of mental support to me. -
I smell a battle of the sexes cooking up. The men, of course, are using Barbecues. edit: Of course that's not ALL I got married for, I can't say it wasn't a significant factor either though. On a more serious note, I agree that marriage is both difficult, and rewarding. Creating a family is no walk in the park, but it sure is worth it.

I read this as "working it", now what is on my mind?

I grew up in a very small ward, I had never heard of deacons collecting fast offerings. Needless to say I was shocked when deacons came to our house at our new ward. I told them we gave it on our tithing slip and thought "wow, that was really weird." Later I moved into a new ward, and in priesthood they asked if any priestholders would drive the deacons around to collect fast offerings, it was then I realized our church must still do this and my home ward was the strange one.

How low can you get, stealing money meant to assist the needy from kids.

I don't know, but this one sure has Jesus' face plastered all over it. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Of course when all the non-members leave the site they change the pictures to ones of Joseph Smith instead instead, it's facade.

You are aware of what happened the last time alcohol was prohibited? Your answer to stop the smuggling of illegal substances is make the smuggled item legal? What substance is next, cocaine? After that heroin? That sure is a slippery slope to walk, one with out a path back up imo.

You mean everyone doesn't read my mind? I think all the talk about how soda is acidic ticked off a small pet peeve inside. Everyone knocks soda because it's acidic and sugary (hey I do it too), then they turn around and talk about how great orange juice (insert any citric juice here) is for you. Great, I get orange juice has vitamin C, Pepsi has nothing going good for it, but they both will eat your throat if you drink them to excess, and orange juice will beat a cola drink to the punch by a good shot. So now here I am, ranting and raving about juice, in a thread about soda.

Do you want me to draw a conclusion for you? Fine here it is.

I think your teeth, gums, and esophagus are more concerned about the pH of your drinks than your stomach is.
-
Orange Juice is more acidic than coke. In fact it can be almost twice as acidic (on the pH scale). It also has, ounce per ounce, more sugar. Just saying.

In that case I'll have a beaconchocolatepepsi. Chocolate counts as my veggie of the day right? It grows on a green, leafy thing right?
-
I'll have peanut M&M's now and again, but my preferred method of consumption is imbibing a piping hot mug with marshmallows floating on top. I don't indulge in it to often though. Actually I'm not sure what connection your making with the chocolate, because it has caffeine and sugar in it? I do love a bar of dark chocolate Honestly all things in moderation, I said I believe pepsi to be a violation of the WoW, I should've said, drinking it as much as I do is a violation of the WoW. Having the occasional pepsi is fine, I'm finishing my 2nd 2 liter today, that's not okay.

I suppose it could be looked at that way, based on the wording though, it seems to me to be a code of health more than anything else. Your question would take a good deal of digging through prophets talks on the matter for me to answer for myself. I have always taken the WoW as a code of health, and a preparatory law. Take the below verse as an example, it doesn't say, don't do this because God said so, it says that it is not good for man, so don't use it. The WoW is full of this type of wording. Does anyone know off hand which prophets have modified the WoW, and where the address can be found? I'm interested in reading it.
-
I base my "no" vote on the spirit of the WoW, rather than the letter of it. It is a code of health, we know soda is not a healthful drink and contributes to diabetes. I'm also a hypocrite, I drink a ton of Pepsi. It's one of my many weaknesses.

Man, I worked 6 pm to 6 am, all I saw was a lot of boxes. I missed out, here in California the smog layer gives an added bonus when viewing celestial events, our sunsets light up half the sky in pink, with out any clouds. The moon is a really great red-orange color while it's low in the horizon. The bad part is practically the only "star" I can see is venus, okay there's a few more than that but you can literally see only 2 stars where the little dipper is supposed to be. This thread reminds me, it's almost summer and I'm excited to take my little 3 year old fishing for the first time... maybe. I'm sure he'll get a kick out of casting and reeling in at least. Was there a topic? I can't remember.

People who say "Turkey Day" and extensive use of emoticons.

Reminds me of a line from "Meet the Parents" - "I have nipples, would you milk me?" I think a good list of "Things you've told your children to stop doing" can be even better, my favorite personal one: "Tyler you don't lick the toilet bowl, that is yucky, don't do it again." ewwwwwwww. after-thought: These forums have a TON of emoticons, wow.

Anyone else sort of quit watching TV because it's boring?
jerome1232 replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
I would enjoy a few shows now and then, but as a full time student, with a full time job, and a family, I just can't justify the time spent. I can barely justify the time I'm not spending on my hw atm When I do catch a show it's through netflix, I'm actually canceling my cable, we don't use it. The only way I would get it again is if I could subscribe to like 4 or 5 channels that I actually want and pay for that content only. -
Whether the term existed in his time or not is irrelevant. What the term describes is relevant, and it does describe Adam. Therefore Adam was a Christian, regardless of whether or not he would have used the term.
