BYU Dancer Counciled For Showing Too Much Skin On SYTYCD!
Latter Days Guy replied to Carl62's topic in General Discussion
I don't get this, was he on school property? Was he in class? No, so what has it got to do with his school what he's doing outside of their jurisdiction in his free time? -
You said: Even in my Stone Age childhood, women's swimsuits were revealing, and I got a lot of sex education ogling the women on the beach. If you think the sight of a woman's crotch (even if covered by a piece of fabric) doesn't rivet a man's attention and awaken his desires, you do not know anything about men. Is there something wrong with men getting a thrill from the female body? I think that getting a thrill from the female body is masculine. Need I say more?
-
So Vort you base your masculinity on getting sexually excited by the female body? Is that every single female you see gets you sexually excited? Do you walk around in a constant state of sexual arousal or do you lock yourself away in a room to limit yourself from those harlots who are tempting you in such sexual ways that you get exited by mealy just looking at a woman?

Sod the zombies, I thought Vort was a girl!!! So I guess that is not you in the avatar then?

Why is immodesty and pornography disgusting?
Latter Days Guy replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
I guess its the whole thought of people having sex for other peoples pleasure/enjoyment/being paid for sex acts thing. It just doesn't sit right with me. -
Funny as most men I know wouldn't as they see beyond the idea that women = sex idea that you seem to have. And I very much doubt that most men do either. I would suppose that most women wear skimpy swim wear because its fashionable to do so, most of the women I know choose their clothes because its fashionable.

Why is immodesty and pornography disgusting?
Latter Days Guy replied to Vort's topic in General Discussion
Totally agree that porn is disgusting. The problem with immodesty is the standard you measure it by. Is my idea of modest dress the same as yours? Its certainly different between myself and my wife. For some a style of dress is modest to others it's revealing, do we have the right to decide for others what is modest or not? -
Why would a woman's crotch rivet a man's attention? It certainly never riveted my attention seeing woman in swim wear, if it did you then you have problems mate. Certainly if a woman was wearing a revealing outfit I would notice but it certainly wouldn't turn me into a seething monster full of desires.

Is Thomas S. Monson the LDS equivalent of a "pope"
Latter Days Guy replied to kookiethekat's topic in General Discussion
Isn't it true that any worthy Priesthood holder can be called to be Prophet but tradition has been for the longest serving Apostle is called to that role. Also that the 12 Apostles can decide that they should guide the Church if led to do so. Remember listening to a podcast a week or so on this very subject. -
Does anyone know anything about this movie? Its trailer is on the DVD for One Good Man. Cannot find any info on it on the web, has it been released?

Our government tried to pass a similar law but it was shot down because of the breaches to human rights that it would entail.
-
Well thats France for you! But one daft law does not mean the rest of us are upto the same thing. And when has anyone not been able to buy property in europe (if they can afford it), and even when I didn't own property I still had the same rights and freedoms as I do now. I don't pay excessive taxes either and get good services and healthcare in return.
-
We may make European socialism look like free nations. Since when has europe not been free nations?
-
Whats with the stupid European comment?

I was knocked of my motor bike and broke my leg just after finding the family history centre which is in the sunderland stake!! It's what gave me the time to reinvestigate the church when I was off on the sick for 3 months

Hi, I'm not from London either but from near Newcastle upon Tyne. Been to London loads of times and love the place! Will try and catch you in the chat room some time soon. Also a quick question to the mods if they read this, why is the english langage chat room only open between certain times? And am I right in thinking even in those times there has to be a mod online aswell? Why is that?

I'm in a similar position to the OP. I returned to the church after a long period of inactivity about two years ago, my wife was not at all happy about her husband joining up with a "cult". My wife was pregnant with our second child at the time and was having a pretty bad pregnancy so after a while church took a back seat as I took care of her needs and the needs of my soon to be born son. Anyway she made her feelings known about what she thought about my membership of the church so I kinda stopped going, thinking I would get back into regular attendance after the baby was born. That never happended. My wife wanted us to get our son Christened so we both started to attend our local Anglican Church which was nice for a while. Then over the last few months I began to feel the calling of the Lord to retrun to the LDS church but kept putting it off because of the trouble it would cause with my wife. Finally it all came to a head, I just could not continue living a lie, I knew that the LDS church was true and that that was and is the church that I should belong to. I have told my wife that I love her but I must follow the guidance of the Holy Spirit and go to the church that I know to be true. She did get upset and had a few tears but it wasn't half as bad as I expected she would react. I feel a lot happier and I believe that we can work through whatever problems she has with the church. She may or may not join the church in the future, but at least I know that now I am in the place that Heavenly Father wants me to be.
