  1. Isn't this something you should be asking your doctors about and not some unknown random people on an internet forum?
  2. Reincarnated? :)
  3. I could care less?
  4. Vort you do know that the primary martial art that the Tokyo Riot police train in is aikido? There are many flavours to aikido, the soft/gentle style you and your kids have experienced and then there's the hard style like Yoshinkan (which is the style the riot police train in). You can actually go to Japan and do the Riot police senshusei course, which has been said to be one of the most brutal year long martial arts courses you can do.
  5. Funny it must be a cultural thing as I find violence as pretty off putting but have no problem with nudity.
  6. Having seen both I must say that Big Love is very tame in comparison to Game of Thrones! The first season of Big love having a few naughty bits with not much in the other seasons, where as Game of Thrones seems to have some nude scenes in practically every episode!
  7. Oops! Didn't see that one!!
  8. Isn't Big Love a completely different programme to what's being discussed here?
  9. Is this one of those reality shows on the Mormon channel? EDIT Just googled it and I guess not!
  10. Maybe you were watching a re-run of airplane
  11. I've heard that 47 Ronin has been getting some poor reviews but then most of my friends who have seen it think its quite good!
  12. Apart from the Orthodox/Coptic Churches in what is now the middle east and turkey who have used the same litany/rituals since the days they were founded in the early 1st century AD with the spread of the Church outwards from Jerusalem under the guidance of the first Apostles and their followers.
  13. The Dark Ages is historically the middle ages period of European history dating from the fall of the western Roman empire to the beginning of the Italian renaissance (roughly 6th century AD to end 13th century AD). The library of Alexandria is generally held to have been created under the reign of either Ptolemy Lagides or his son Ptolemy II who reigned between 323 BC and 246 BC, as for the date for the destruction of the library its generally held to have been closed/destroyed by the edict of the then Roman Emperor Theodosius in approx 391 AD.
  14. Second the Empirical evidence of Apostasy and restoration: History is a very strong indication that human society have fallen into a long era of decay. So pronounced was this decaying that it was called - The Dark Ages. Again even a casual student of history realizes that human enlightenment took more than a hiatus but a serious and devastating decline. A very western European centred view of that particular period of history, the dark ages wasn't a world wide event and to say it was is giving the rest of the world at that time a pretty bad rap. The dark ages is a distinct period of time in western European history, outside of western Europe in places such as the Byzantine Empire and the Islamic world there was no decay at all. Whilst in western Europe the ancient knowledge found in the books of the Greek, Roman and Indians was being burned as heresy this was not the case in places like Constantinople, Baghdad, or Cordoba where learning and knowledge was seen as a great virtue and a gift from God.
  15. Love spam!
  16. Funny that, as I know several married women who didn't take their husbands surname but use Mrs as their title. I also know several woman who are in a relationship but not married who use Miss. I was taught that Miss was the title for an un-married woman, Mrs for a married woman and Ms for a divorcee.
  17. The extra stuff is in the appendices of the Return of the King, from what I remember it fills in all the details about where Gandalf kept disappearing off to in the Hobbit. Tauriel is a completely new charactor made up by Peter Jackson so isn't in any of the books. Saw Desolation of Smaug last night in 3D and though it was excellent! The 3D was amazing and the pacing of the film was spot on. Seeing Peter Jackson walking across the screen at the begining in Bree eating a carrott brought a few laughs :)
  18. Sounds like an amazing place!
  19. Your cinema's are open on Christmas Day Outside of Hospitals and the odd small corner shop or petrol station, everything is closed on Christmas Day in the UK!
  20. Doesn't he fill in the back story using material from the appendices found in The Return of the King? If I remember rightly they contain a lot of Hobbit related stuff but it's been a while since I read any of it!
  21. Never heard of this elf on a shelf thing before, seems a bit weird to me!
  22. There was nudity in Dredd? Don't remember seeing any!
  23. Just been to the cinema to see Gravity, was fun but a bit unbelievable.
  24. I always got a smile on my face when that line is sung in the Band Aid song, of course there will be no snow in Arica at Christmas, its summer there!
