  1. Saw this the other night and thought it was ok, not as good as Batman Begins. I just thought that the story was a little disjointed in places.
  2. Strange as it is perfectly legal to post copyrighted material as long as it does not exceed 10% of the whole document.
  3. The world doesn't owe you anything mate. You said that your job doesn't pay you enough to support both you and your girlfriend, but you don't want to leave it because you like it. What is more important, finding a job that meets the needs of supporting both you and your girlfriend or staying in a low paid job that doesn't? I believe you need to get your priorities sorted out and go and find a better paid job that will support the both of you. If you did have a better paid job then you wouldn't need to rely on social security, so then you could get married, but from what I have read it would seem that you are more than comfortable to stay in your low paid job and get by on your girlfriends benefits. I don't know what it's like in the USA but here in the UK if your living with someone on benefits and do so for more than 6 months then you are classed as common law man and wife. Then your income is taken into account when her benefits are accessed.
  4. It would be great if there was another book in the series! Can anyone recomend something in a similar vein as this series?
  5. So which bits are sybolic and which bits are true? Are the bits we cannot prove sybolic?
  6. What a great story!
  7. Maybe he's from Finland and has just finished reading the Finnish translation of the BOM
  8. I'm currently reading the 2nd book in the Seventh Seal series of books by Draper and Draper, was wondering if anyone else has read them and if anyone else knows if there is a third volume in the series? I'm really enjoying it, fast paced with a really good story line. I recommend the two books to any one who likes a good thriller/end times story.
  9. This is an interesting topic, what about people who download TV programmes? I downloaded the entire 2nd series of Jericho and have started to download the latest episodes of Battlestar Galactica, now these programmes have been aired in the US but probably will not be aired in the UK for a while. Would you say that this is morally wrong?
  10. I'm sure there was a case in Bradford a few years ago about a bigamous muslim man being charged with, well bigamy! I'm sure it's illegal here wether your a muslim or anything else.
  11. I concur with Vanhin, the best book about the book of Mormon is in fact the book of Mormon :)
  12. I think that is where we are getting ourselves mixed up. Your talking legal and I'm talking historical. Oh and Britannia may be outmoded but it is what the Romans called the place when they popped over here 2000 years ago, in latin that is.
  13. I new doing those A levels in Ancient History and Archeology would come in handy some day! Britain has been called that since Roman times (Britannia). It has nothing to do with the union of 1707, in fact Great Britain was probably coined by the French (Grande Bretagne) to distinguish it from Brittany (in French: Bretagne) after the Norman Invasion. Here's a link to a site that explains it in very simple terms: Are Britain, Great Britain and the UK the same country?
  14. Eeh I think you will find that Scotland is in fact part of Britain, as is England and Wales. And Scotland does have a different legal system to England and Wales, Britain is not a country but the name of the island that has England, Scotland and Wales upon it.
  15. I've got a guide book that gives you a set section to read each day that can get you through the full standard works in one year. I've also got the scriptures on mp3 so when I'm riding to work I can listen to them.
  16. Yes, but I could never eat a whole one
  17. Exactly my point, you married someone who was not a member and found that it was missing something, in your case the priesthood at work in your home. I'm also married to a non member, whom I met when I was inactive from the Church, and we have struggled in our relationship when I returned to the Church. My wife is a member of another church but is inactive, I pray that she will discover the truth of the Gospel so we can be sealed together in the Temple. At times it is hard work but I move on and trust in Heavenly Father to guide me and to soften the heart of my wife.
  18. Hi DS, just wondering why you married someone who holds a completely alien viewpoint to your own? Did the subject of faith and religion play no part in your courtship and marriage? I find it difficult to believe that someone from the Church would marry someone who has a viewpoint that puts them at odds with their beliefs that they hold.
  19. I don't understand the problem here, they are not living together as partners just sharing a house. Why would that stop someone becoming a member and getting baptised? I could understand it if they were living together as commonlaw man and wife but that does not seem to be the situation. Coming to think about it, the person who introduced me to the church lived in a house with a person of the opposite sex, his landlady as he rented a room from her, does that mean that he would not be able to get baptised if he was an investigator of the church?
  20. Greek recipe - greek food recipes and cooking
  21. Could you not capitalise practically EVERY first letter of every word in your posts, it's poor english and makes reading difficult:mad:
  22. Like someone else has said, it's us that sin so it's upto us to repent. Also could you please not capitalise the first letter of each word as it makes it really hard to read, makes my eyes go wonky:huh:
  23. I also believe that the book of Mormon is true, a historically accurate document that gives us a detailed account of the people and events it contains. I cannot think of any examples where the Church has said anything other than that the BoM is a historical document either.
  24. What a coincidence! I met him last year at a meeting for new converts to the Church over here in the UK!
