Christian music isn't Iron Maiden! I already followed the WoW without realizing it, since as I said before coffee makes me sick, I don't like alcohol or drugs or cigarettes. Tea, well most of it tastes the same, and I'm not a fan, well maybe the pine varety-but that's camp food. Strange how life lines itself up

What is the church's policy towards unfavourable media attention?

Yeah they say any publicity is good publicity, people google Mormon and what do they get? -
Inviting the missionaries for dinner

Well no I don't see it as a bad thing, the times change and to be successful they have to know when people are home and the like. Can't get any referals from someone who isn't home, and you can't go to someone's house because you have a set hours, that no one is home. It's great the missionary is there to teach, but if there's nobody to teach, and there's a clear wall right there, well it makes sense people are gonna start complaining about the wall. The times are changing and to reach people on these levels they have to understand that. Gotta have someone there to share the gospel with. -
Sexless marriage vs adultery vs fidelity
Lakumi replied to MrShorty's topic in Marriage and Relationship Advice
Its less about a covenant because even athiests have a concept of loyalty. I haven't made any covenants and yet I wouldn't dream of cheating on anyone. You bring shame upon yourself when you lie, for really any reason-no matter what you believe what good is there in deception? -

Yeah it brings dishonour to one to abuse trust, no matter what you believe. What is a person without honour? -
Well how can blasphemy exist to a non believer?

I got an avatar so I'm happy, also says I'm from the Land of Horror, which is where faeries come from and often lure humans within its portals!

I have been told about things that chase away the spirit, like pornography and whatnot I think the story of Laban isn't the best example because God told him to do that-so it wouldn't have chased the spirit away, am I right? God didn't tell Mr.So and So to watch the porn or steal my bag of chips. Would those things chase the spirit away?

Inviting the missionaries for dinner

Problems arise with that, what if there are no investigators on hand, or like me, don't like people at my house. Or like me (when I have work), work hours that don't at all fit into this. I work, in retail, on average 2-10, I very seldom deviate from that time, and feel later the better. I don't have a wife or anything, and even if I did, she'd probably have to work too, and if she was anything like me, she'd have the same wacked hours I enjoy. People just aren't around that early anymore, nor is there, on average, anyone home during the day. People just can't afford it anymore. -
But don't bad actions drive it away so it's not always with you, if you live a life doing things it finds sinful?

Yeah I have no interest in being tossed into a box, or even into the ground, as I said I want to have my ashes mixed with concrete, left to harden into a great stone block and thrown into the deep ocean. I would say, at the funeral (whatever from it might take-and if I was a true LDS when I die) would be the only time I wore garments, due to the weird sensory issues I have with fabric in life. I'd be dead, what would I care.

Inviting the missionaries for dinner
Lakumi replied to Dreams_Of_Deutschland's topic in General Discussion
Yeah in my house dinner is typically served at 7-8. There's no stay at home anyone, (there never was) I mean in this day and age a stay at home anyone is rare (no one I know is even married) though if given the option I'd rather stay home and the wife go out to work (if that was an option, and these days it seldom is) I don't know what the feeding Missionaries rules are here, if any-it is a whole different country. I did go over to a members house once, (invited, along with the missionaries who went over every Monday) and it wasn't rigidly timed. -
Go to O Town (aka Ottawa) I grew up there, it's not wholly useless lol

Where specifically?

I'm going to be burned and the ashes put into a brick of cement and thrown in the ocean... is there a policy about burning them?

A lot of people underestimate its sheer size-I've seen many places of my beloved land, but still haven't seen much. With Canada, you kind of have to pick a place and stay around it, because travel is long and boring (with such a low population things are far apart, when you drive here, its KMs of nothing)

it took me a day to drive on a train from Montreal to Moncton, it would take a week at least to get from Vancouver to Toronto, probably more.

I hold extreme grudges on a person to person basis, in addition to my generally cold additude towards many (for no real reasons other then not enjoying socializing most of the time). I suppose you could call me extreme, I've detested people for things they've said, views they've had that I considered hateful or cruel or what have you. Church, of any kind, has always been tricky for me because someone will say something I really don't like and I won't want to go back because my mind associates it with that person. Card Stores are usually the same, though I seem to be a tad more lenient because I never like the folk in there lol
-
Canada is truly massive, take it from someone who lives there, pick a place and then we can go from there-nothing is that close here lol
-
makes sense, yeah I remember being in there, though I was only standing in there to keep out of the way while chatting with, I don't remember... At the time for some reason I thought it had to do with the family history center.

ooh no nothing personal, more a broad stroke like what are their duties, do they get an office, do they share the office? Where does he get his pens, does he bring them from home, stuff like that. I am sure there's books somewhere talking about those basic little things, or proper people to ask
-
oh I had my tech savy friend do all that, I just comprehend basic upkeep. There are enough linux lovers out there to give you more advice then you could ever use.

like what its like from a different perspective, the family man, a child, that sort of thing. I can only see something from my own eyes, my own path. I suppose inner workings sounds a bit cold, sometimes my choice of words isn't the best

I use ubuntu, best decision I've ever made
