  1. Ah, but don't you know, the Mormons are always doing good things like cleaning up after storms, and providing humanitarian things, so SURELY they are secretly planning something devious... ...yes we are. We are doing good things so we can sit back and watch people go crazy trying to figure out why we are so charitable. lol
  2. (not sure if you where sarcastic, so bear with explanation) A colt is the term for a "baby horse", like "puppy" is the term for "baby dog". "Colt" and "cult" sound very similar, and Mormons are often called a cult. Then again, anything people perceive as "different" is often labeled "cult".
  3. This is all you really need to know about political parties:
  4. Am trying to decide whether I want to click "laugh" or "thanks". It is the perfect cheeky response to the anti-Mormon people (and me being so cheeky, I might actually be tempted to do this...)
  5. I was dealing with some issues and wanted people to talk to, but was a very awkward teen (I think I was 13 at the time), so one day I did some googling, and found ldstalk and decided to join. I seem to recall having some problems with my account not wanting to be recognized, some weird thing my computer was doing, and SoulSearcher was kind enough to help me out. I actually "fell away" from the site shortly after it became lds.net, I guess I didn't like the change, but came back a year or two ago. Good luck getting rid of me now! Edit: According to math, I was 14.
  6. I've been in a simaler situation. I met a guy, grew very fond of him, but had major issues that I had to work through, and decided it best to avoid guys for a while. Perhaps if you tell him how you've been feeling, that you are fond of him, but have things you need to work through before you want to get in a relationship, he will understand. Perhaps he was brought back into your life so he could help you in some way, but that does not mean you won't occasionally need your space.
  7. Have a bunch of friends (female might be best) visit former roommate? It could be she is just lonely and needs someone to talk to, but is trying to say that in a very not good way.
  8. Disney is generally more expensive. I recommend used book stores, sometimes they have movies as well (or can atleast give you some ideas on where to go)
  9. Wishing you well. Please remember that things will work out. You are not alone. Peace be with you, my brother.
  10. Everytime I see someone with them, I get the urge to grab their ear and laugh like a maniac. :hangs head in shame: Somehow, I've managed to resist. So far.
  11. I guess then all you can do is tell him "I'm sorry, your mother said I can't give you snacks." Then again... there is always praying for the Spirit to help, which is really the better answer, now that I think of it. Good luck :)
  12. Not to be a partypooper, but there are many cases where a woman killed her child after it was born (sometimes years after), as well as women who just toss their baby in the trash can (life is not rubbish people!), etc. I do not wish to return to a depressive funk, so I will let you all do your homework on this.
  13. I understood you to be saying that he was asking for sweets, which I interpreted to mean things like cookies and candies and such. I was suggesting that instead of sweets, you give him something else, like pretzels or crackers.
  14. That does not sound like something I would say... nope not at all...
  15. If I am reading this right, the child is asking your mother for sweets, and you have not personally meet him? Has your mother seen him? You said your mother is a teacher, she would probably be able to tell if he is obese or not when he comes by. She would be able to make a reasonable guess as to whether or not he is being starved, and if he is trying to get a bite to eat, or if he is basically trick-or-treat-ing. Suggestions: If he is not being starved, could your mother stock up on those snack-sized bags of pretzles or goldfish crackers to hand out to him? She would likely have to give them to the other children as well, but that way, the-child-in-discussion would know he is not being singled out. If child IS being starved, take action.
  16. I usually go to a flag raising/breakfast at my home ward (the YSA ward is kinda far), and then try to avoid my family for the rest of the day (we don't get along well) HOWEVER... I didn't this year... I over slept, went to see some friends with my roommate (mostly her friends, I'm kinda a wallflower) where we talked about All-American things like cat videos (very popular on the internet). To be honest, I'm really not sure why it bothered me so much, I was in a hypersensitive mood, I guess lol.
  17. Because only men seemed to have been able to master the pickle jar opening. :p:p
  18. :rants for a month about how women are NOT damsel's in distress:
  19. By "abort", you mean "put up for adoption", right? Please tell me that's right. I'm going to be sick... 'scuse me!
  20. Do you think Pony's will be brought up in General Conference in October?
  21. But I highly doubt he was handing Jelly Beans to the disciples. I do not see how they somehow got linked together.
  22. I agree, if it where a dog family watching fireworks shaped in something like the Liberty Bell or a Bald Eagle, I would just be like "okay, that's cute", but I felt like they where saying "hey, you have a holiday, go and forget the meaning behind it", which is why (I admit it) I am not a fan of Christian holidays, I seriously doubt Santa Claus/Father Christmas or the Easter Bunny ever met Jesus (rambles a while longer...)
  23. Today is Independence Day in the States, and as is custom for Google, they have a Special Doodle thingy on Google. The doodle is what appears to be about a dog family going on vacation, doing a lot of sight seeing. Am I just being hypersensitive, or does anyone else feel that it is just degrading?
