Depending on what he's saying, could you say those things to your son? Sometimes people say/do things not realizing the effect it'll have on others. It might be the hint he needs that he's been saying some not good things.

I would do some research on the Pentecostal faith. It could be that you said something that they thought was an insult to their religion by mistake. Could you write a letter addressed to her and family in a mass apology?

There are many different callings within the church. It could be that the Spirit was telling you that you will be getting a calling, but the calling you will get is different than the one you thought you'd receive.

As for what you should do about the Church, I would learn as much as possible about all the churches, figure out how you felt about each one, and then pray for strength to do what is best. This is going to sound awkward, but you are You. You are not your parent's Barbie doll. They should not be trying to control you now. My opinion for what it's worth. Blackroads, could you ask her something along the lines of "does he have cancer/health problems/etc" or "do you just need to vent" Also, don't be afraid to say "have you talked to him about this"

disagree. My neighbors are from Bangladesh, and it is common for people to have arranged marriages there (and in India). India and Bangladesh both have very high domestic violence rates. I guess I wouldn't be so against it if it wasn't for that.

My roommate read something in an article once (in the review section), and it was basically someone asking why Mormons are so charitable, to which someone said "because someone has to be" Christ taught love and acceptance. I say the sooner the religious sects stop arguing about whether or not we are Christian, the better. I mean, don't we have more important stuff to discuss? Like how we are going to get the crime rate down, for instance?

It has always amused me how many times throughout history the States have invaded other countries, tore down their inept government, provided jobs, food, and other necessary things. So why don't the States invade the States?

Dang it, if a picture of Jesus is so psychologically damaging that the school has to pay compensation, then why did they not pay me for damage caused by the stress of homework, and essays, and finals? I still have nightmares about middle school and high school. A million dollars sounds fair, right?

When I was in high school (I graduated almost three years ago) I got in trouble for bringing Neosporin to school. I probably could have gotten expelled if they found out I had ibuprofen with me too (I get migraines, so I never go anywhere without something in case I need it)

I live in Phoenix. Here, you'd get minimum wage in most fast food places ($7.80 an hour). Also, student housing depends on the college. And apartment rentals depend on the area. I currently pay about $300 a month on rent. Roommate pays the other half. (incase anyone is wondering, yes, I do work fast food. Atleast until I can go back to school)

Where they (the parents and teachers) sexually active with someone over the adult line (over 18 years old) when they where minors (under 18)? Or where they just a bunch of stupid 16 year olds having sex with each other because they could not control their hormones?

My personal feelings: sex is sex. It does not matter if you have it with a man, woman, hermaphrodite, goat, your car, it does not matter. It is sex, and if you are not supposed to have it, you are not supposed to have it, no if, ands, or buts. One person was 18, the other was 14. It is wrong, end of story.

There is a difference between being a friend and being stupid. Had Hunt not sent the 14yo those "sexts" and kept it casual while on court order, then this would not be as big a deal.
