  1. My former home town began trialling the use of drones for home deliveries in 2017. The trials continued for about 2 years and were pronounced a success. According to news reports at the time, the most frequently ordered items were cups of coffee and packets of milk. People trusted the system enough that the 7th most ordered and delivered items were eggs. For one regular user it took about 3 minutes to get his coffee delivered from 5 kilometers away. "Wing has trialled its drone delivery service in and around Canberra since 2017. In 2019 it set up a permanent operation based at the Mitchell nest, delivering to seven surrounding suburbs. The service recently partnered with Coles. The drones can carry up to about 1.5 kg so are limited to smaller items. They can't deliver your weekly shop. g. Simon says a litre of milk is the most common order through Wing. "The seventh most sold item on Coles was eggs, which I think is a really interesting example. Eggs are very fragile, but people trust the system enough to put eggs in and that can be delivered safely." But overall coffee is the most popular order - flat whites in particular." https://www.canberratimes.com.au/story/7802239/drone-delivery-is-about-more-than-just-flying-takeout/ https://www.cmtedd.act.gov.au/digital-strategy/current-initiatives/industry/canberra-a-hub-for-trialling-new-ideas#:~:text=Wing Aviation Pty Ltd%2C a,from a base in Mitchell.
  2. This verse might provide some support for considering Christ to be our brother: Luke 8:21 And he answered and said unto them, My amother and my brethren are these which hear the word of God, and bdo it.
  3. 16 Let your alight so shine before men, that they may see your good bworks, and cglorify your Father which is in heaven.
  4. Jesus' first miracle was turning water into wine. As far as we know, nothing was added to the water, it just changed from what it was to what Jesus wanted it to be. I suspect that an egg, if indeed one was needed, could have been produced and placed where it was needed, in the same way.
  5. I think there is insufficient evidence to provide sufficient support for this observation.
  6. 1. Have a clear goal. 2. Know your 3 topics and 3. hit them hard. I see you are practicing what you preach
  7. This comment reminded me that there are many verses of scripture that are worded in such a way as to give the impression that all those in Hell are/will also dwelling in the midst of eternal fire.
  8. This has become a fairly frequent approach for General Conference addresses. Quite a few such addresses are organised around the idea of giving the listener a list of 3 or 4 things they need to do to accomplish a specific objective.
  9. As a side comment, I note that the words used to describe the creation of Adam have about as much meaning and clarity as the words used to describe the creation of Jesus.
  10. I think its important to have accurate understandings and interpretations of the scriptures. And if the reference is to Christ's wife, that would be interesting because it would be scriptural confirmation that Christ had a wife, Even the tiniest scrap of information about Diety can be helpful.
  11. In Australia, law-making is quite often a reactive, rather than a proactive process, with many laws being made in response to particular events. If it hadn't been for the technicians triggering act of revenge, it most likely would have been some other trigger, resulting in a similar, but not identifical outcome. ps The real Captain Moonlight was alive and well in the Australian outback more than a hundred years before this modern day imposture https://www.onlymelbourne.com.au/captain-moonlite
  12. That's hars(h)
  13. I'm definetely pro-noun, I think they have a very important role in English grammar.
  14. From our Sunday School lesson today: 14 ¶ And when Jesus was come into Peter’s house, he saw his awife’s mother blaid, and sick of a fever. Every time I’ve heard this scripture referred to, its always been assumed that the sick person referred to is Peter’s mother in law. However, the way this verse is worded, that is not a reliable assumption. The reference to “his wife’s mother” could just as easily refer to Christ’s wife as it is could Peter’s. Does anyone know of a reliable version/language/edition of the New Testament that makes it completely clear whose mother in law is being referred to here?
  15. AusssieS. There's two of us now.
  16. Would you happen to know of any exceptions or loop holes?............Asking for a friend.
  17. Gooday Alec, its nice to see another Aussie on here, there are very few of us on this site. I think that together, we can be the leaven that this loaf needs.
  18. Do you know if your wife ever prayed for a 4th child?
  19. This experience reminds me of some of the many times when it seems to appear as if God has changed His mind See 2nd Kings 20: 1 - 6 1 In those days was aHezekiah sick unto death. And the prophet Isaiah the son of Amoz came to him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order; for thou shalt bdie, and not live. 2 Then he turned his face to the wall, and prayed unto the Lord, saying, 3 I beseech thee, O Lord, remember now how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. 4 And it came to pass, afore Isaiah was gone out into the middle court, that the word of the Lord came to him, saying, 5 Turn again, and tell Hezekiah the captain of my people, Thus saith the Lord, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will aheal thee: on the third day thou shalt go up unto the house of the Lord. 6 And I will add unto thy adays fifteen years; Doctrine and Covenants 56:4 4 Wherefore I, the Lord, command and arevoke, as it seemeth me good; and all this to be answered upon the heads of the brebellious, saith the Lord. And all the many instances that turn up when you do a search of the Old Testament using the words Lord repent such as (one of many examples) Exodus 32:14 14 aAnd the Lord brepented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. I'm not saying that any of these particular conditions apply to what happened to @scottyg, althought they might. I'm just putting them forth as examples of when it seems as if the Lord appears to have changed His mind. It seems as if some of these appearance of change have come about as a result of something that somebody did, ie, the Lord seems to be reacting to the faith and pleas of His children.
  20. This is a thought that occurred to me while reading the quote from Nibley in Zil’s post. Its not a view I’m committed to, its just a thought that occurred and I haven’t thought it through in any detail yet. It may be that the validity of this method of testing might be influenced by the fact that the test is taking place in a very artificial environment where there are a number of conditions present that will not be present in the longer term environment in which we will all one day dwell. How many of our decisions in this life are driven by the need to satisfy physical desires which will not be present in the same way in the next life? Ideally, a good test mirrors as closely as possible the future operating environment, and to the extent that it does not, the validity of the testing process comes into question.
  21. Are you sure this is a cosplay? It wouldn't be the first time Moroni has intervened in political processes or come back to deliver a message.
  22. "Color" is why it is incorrect.
  23. The way I understand the Book of Mormon version of this teaching, in 3rd Nephi 12: 25 and 28, this counsel was given only to the 12 whom He had chosen. The church today applies this teaching by providing for the physical needs of 12 so that they do not have to toil by the sweat of their brow to earn their daily bread in the same way that others do.
  24. I've sometime wondered whether verse 6 implies the possibility of God having a hand in shaping US immigration policy. But then, as Iaronius has pointed out, the phrase "this land" is a bit vague. I think its highly likely that there is no country in any of the American continents of which it could be said that the only people who migrate there are those who have been brought up by the hand of God.
