This will sound harsh to some but I honestly believe the majority of the things the left promotes is against the values that we teach in the Church. I have a really hard time trying to imagin how a member in good standing could be a Democrat. The far left in particular appears to be part of the modern Gadianton Robbers out to destroy what is good in this world. If I were at the Temple and Harry Reid were there, I would leave. Again that might sound horrible to some but that is how I see it.

I love how Biden is about the dumbest guy in modern political history with more mistakes in 1 interview than most politicians have in a lifetime but since he is a Liberal he gets a pass. Obama even has more slip ups than most Republicans yet he also gets a pass. Palin on the other hand being in the GOP does nothing and gets labeled an idiot... but then again all Conservatives get either the idiot label or evil mastermind label. I can always tell who is the most Conservative in the GOP without even hearing them speak, all I got to do is see who the media attacks the worst and chances are thats the best guy. Same works in reverse for who is the weakest link they praise (McCain) that is until he actually goes up against their guy. On the topic I felt her request was ok, she just went about it the wrong way. Working so 'hard' to become a Senator, she should have learned some tact. I think this whole thing is being way overblown.

Terminator has a great moral to it as well. It really does. T2 really fleshed out the plot and moral as well leaving the viewer with a lot to ponder. Don't dismiss it as some action movie is all I am saying. Love Pixar and wanting to see "Up". They have not let us down yet!

I am just wating for the Church to take over Utah and leave the Union so I can go live there. It is getting so bad, especially with the new POTUS, that I just do not see things getting better as our Govt continues to do things to make things worse. This giant "PORK" bill and the other coming "PORK" bills with other things like Health Care etc will be the death of our Republic.

There are a lot of people in our Church that are as you said, like little birds in a cage that are protected from the outside world and know very little about it. That right there is a huge debate of its own, perosnally I feel that too many members go too far to shelter themselves. Jesus went to the sinners but he was strong enough to resit temptation. Perhaps most of us being imperfect fear that we could not be so strong and the temptation might be too much therfor it is better to shelter than to sin. Personally I would rather be tempted and overcome, at least then I was tested and pass because eventually we will all be tempted... there is no way to avoid it.

Well what a day and prayer change can mean. Today the person in question was let go when our workforce got trimmed for non essental positions. Now that she is gone I feel really bad for her. Even though she was hatefull to me, I feel awful for the position she is now in. I am going to continue to pray for her and hope for the best for her.

I vote we pull random names out of the phone book and let them lead the Country. My guess is they would be the most humble, honest, and connected to the people.

It is such a hard call. I agree with making friends and then getting to a point where you can share this. You can not just be like the Aunt from Greek Wedding and sit down next to people you just met and reveal something so personal. I just do not know about your situation really. I know that we all have trials and I wish I had the perfect answer for you. One thing I have always wondered is how a Hermaphrodite fits into the picture. Being both a man and a woman. When I think of situations like that, it reminds me that we are ALL still learning which is why we have a modern day Prophet and why we are told to teach the Word but not judge others. I genuinely feel for you here as it must be such a challenge to go through being pulled in those different directions. We each have our trials and challenges. My advice is to continue to pray and stay active in the Church. Make friends and then when the time is right, open up to them and share what you are going through. It impacts me because I almost lost my job over her. Even now that I am in the clear, I still feel like people "wonder" if she was telling the truth. I can live with somebody not liking me as that is life but there is more to this than that.

I never dated her and it really is a long story. The short version is she is a dominating person and I have not submitted to her attempts to control me, I refuse to play her game. Most other people do the same but since I was new, she is even more pissed about it. I basicly ignored her attempts and this was her way to try and get control. She has no authority over us or anyone at all but she wants it. It all backfired on her big time but I am left with these horrible feelings towards her. I absolutly can not stand to even be in the same room as her or hear her voice. Even now with things solved with my real bosses she still has an attitude with me and so I avoid her as much as possible.

I feel as of late that I have allowed a bad situation at work to make me feel an intense dislike of another coworker that borderlines on hate. Without too much background details, this person does not like me. They have spread lies and distortions about me to other workers to the point last month I was almost fired until I brought everything out on the table and proved this woman to be a fraud and liar. She was severly repremanded but was not fired. I still have to work with this person. I need advice on how to let go. How can I when she would do it all again and I know at any opportunity to tarnish me she will do so. Even though I was proved beyond a shadow of a doubt to be innocent of the many lies she spread about me, I still have a cloud over me at work where people now "wonder" if there was any truth. I can not stand that I let it upset me so much and that I feel this way. I want to let go, I do not want this hatefull woman infecting me with her venom. Prayer has been my only weapon against these feelings so far but I felt promted to post here and pray that somebody out there has advice for me on how to deal with this situation.

Get a Permit to Carry and get a restraining order. People that have nothing to lose are the scariest. Be prepared and take everything with her serious. Watch your child like a Hawk. Its not paranoia when you KNOW they are out to get you.

This one hits home close to my heart. I joined when I was 18, almost 19. I had been an active part of the Church for a while but never could decide if it was right for me. Then during Fall Conference in 1997, I felt inspired and knew it was right to join. I am the only member in my family and to most of them the Church seems odd from "reports" they hear. Before my Baptismal water had even dried, I was starting to get the hints and pressure about going on a mission. Then about 6 months later it all blew up where I was told by the girls in the ward during Sunday school that I had to go on a mission and that if I did not I would never marry a good woman and I did not love Jesus. I left Church that Sunday in tears. These were girls I considered my friends who had stabbed me in the back. The Bishop (whos daughter was one of the girls) saw me and tried to stop me from getting in the car but I left and did not come back for a long time. After that I had nothing to do with those supposed friends anymore but I heard they were not sorry about it at all but rather were just "telling me the truth". Eventually I started to attend my ward again but it was never the same. I got a lot of snide comments about serving a mission from peers as well as adults. Needless to say, the more this went on the less I attended Church. So I moved away for School a few years later. The ward there was great. I started to attend more often again and met my future wife. We were sealed in the Nashville Temple back in 2002 and have been happliy married since. Nobody here has any issue at all that I never served a mission. All of this turned me to a very important lesson about the Church and the members of the Church. The Church is perfect in every way being the Church Jesus established but it is run by inperfect beings and so it goes without saying that the members are not perfect. In the end if there is some stuck up girl that is not interested in you because you did not serve a mission, think of it as her doing you a favor because chances are you would not want to be with a loser like her in the first place. When the time is right, I am sure Heavenly Father will show you the right person to be with, a person that will love you the way you deserved to be loved. I wont claim Obama. I dont claim Bush either. In fact I think we all need to move to Utah and leave the union. I look at Obama's election and the recent nationalization under Bush as a sign of the times. If Obama or Bush were actually constrained like they are supposed to be under the Consitution then that would be different, but we are no longer living in a Republic and it is only going to get worse with Obama. I honestly see both of them as modern day Gadianton robbers, especially Obama. Any person that works so hard against the work of Christ with such a vast group of support must be part of them.

Unions have far outlived their purpose. They are now a curse on us and our economy. I would rather be without a job than join a union. Education, Big 3 Auto, Airlines, to name fail because of.... UNIONS! Honda, Toyota, BMW all have plants here and make a nice profit. Private schools thrive with LESS money than the public school systems get. And the airlines that are non union also thrive. Anybody see a pattern! Instead of Unions being encouraged and backed by this darn card check that is sure to come... they should be outlawed.

Nor would Obama as he does not even pass for security clearence. Our Commander In Chief does not even pass the standards for a basic security clearence. If Obama was trying to apply for a job as even the garbage man at the White House, he would be turned down.

Yes he did, I can not believe how many libs say Bush was so right wing and blah blah blah. Bush went out on a limb to reach out to the other side. We have No Child Left Behind, Drug Benifits, Harriet Miers, Amnesty, 700 Billion bailout, and the socialized bank buyout to name a few big ones. These are things the GOP does NOT support but the DNC does (Other that Harriet, they liked her cause she was not too "right wing"). While on the flip side when the GOP had full control they failed to push through any meaningful conservative bills. They simply brought up the idea and when the DNC said "NO" they walked away without a fight. Why do you think Bush's approval ratings are so low? Do you think that the % of support he has is the last hold out of the GOP in this Republic? We just saw a huge turn out for Palin with about half the countries voters going her way. No, Bush has his approval ratings so low because he turned his back on his own party in an attempt to reach accross the asile. The Democrats hate him more than ever for it and he loses his base too. Then McCain steals the nomination and he is not that different from Bush in that he would again try and reach accross the asile while leaving his party base (Those that voted for him) in the dust in favor of those that would NEVER vote for him. I agreed with Obama though that we do not need 4 more years of a Liberal Republican like Bush. Instead we need a real conservative to run and when we do, Obama can pack his bags.
