    It's not the questions that lead to the apparent conclusion, it's more the way you present them. You seem to be saying that the Temple covenants of sealing have no real value. That's not at all correct. No one will be exalted without them. They happen in the Temples and no where else. They happen under the authority of the keys of the Priesthood, and by no other men. Those are absolutes. They cannot be changed, not even by God Himself (except, when we're too poor to build a Temple, He can dedicate a place for that purpose temporarily).
    No one has all the answers. Please don't take offense at the wording of this almost-a-joke, but the Jewish sages say that one fool can ask more questions than ten wise men can answer.  In this case, it means that we can ask questions that we cannot understand the answers. Asking the questions isn't wrong, it's just futile.
    We have tried to answer as best we can. No, the answers are not perfect, and they are certainly not complete. But, as far as I can tell, they are correct within the limits of what we know.

    We read in Mosiah that the priests of Noah had to teach the Lamanites the "language of Nephi". Admittedly, this could have meant that they needed to teach them to write, not speak, it because the next few verses talk about their writing.
    BTW, this is the only place in scripture that mentions government-run, tax-funded welfare schools. And it ain't for good reasons. And thus we see …

    The word "black" in the AV Old Testament represents several different Hebrew words.
    This is more than merely academic. We do not know which word(s) Joseph saw on the plates.

    A note on the original post and intention: to me it just seems a bit weird to go get "free condoms". It's like collecting the lousy free pens and flashlights at any other expo. What's wrong with paying for condoms? If you can't afford to buy condoms, do you really need to be having sex?

    I don't see it as God being more clever than Satan. Satan initiated the Fall because "he knew not the mind of God". I think he genuinely does not understand the power of sacrifice.
    And just for fun, the Gospel of Nicodemus (an apocryphal account of Jesus' descent to hell and freeing the righteous dead there) contains some of the bickering among the forces of evil, raising some of the same questions you do.

    interesting point. 
    I think always believed that Satan knows that he's on the losing side of this battle, but that isn't necessarily true.  True opposition in all things requires Lucifer to be focused and have Faith in himself.  It makes much more sense that he believes he's currently winning the battle and his purpose is to prove to the Father that Christ's plan is/has failed.

    They are, but it's not because no one is discussing it with them. Parents do (not all, but most), YM/YW leaders do, bishops do, stake president do, general authorities do.
    If they aren't listening, it's not the faults of those who have undertaken to tell them that the only legitimate sex is with one's spouse.
    Handing out condoms or any other form of birth control/infection protection sends the wrong message.
    No one wants a young woman to get pregnant. No one wants a young man or a young woman to get a venereal disease. But if he does, that's a direct consequence of his breaking the Low of Chastity, not a lack of knowledge. That pregnancy or disease is not unique to the uninformed: every grtf-welfare school teaches the birds'n'the bees, and millions of their coerced inmates get pregnant and get infected every year anyway.

    We teach it because it's easy to understand. Many never get beyond that "primary answer".
    It is about much, much more that the ritual, and (given that these same ordinances were done on mountains and in an upper room) it's not about the place, per se, either*. It's about the Priesthood and the covenants, both the promises we make and the promises He makes if we observe the rules.
    * These alternative sites were approved, and so, for all intents and purposes, they were Temples, at the time.
    How hard life is has little to do with Temple covenants. Everyone faces hardships, but the Temples give us more reason to overcome them.
    Where is important because God has established His Temples as the unique places on the earth where such covenants can be made. They are the only places no the earth where His Priesthood officiates in these ordinances. So,it boils down to who is authorized to act for God in this matter. Right now, the only man on the face of the earth who holds the keys of the ordinances, of these covenants, is Thomas S. Monson. He has delegated authority to a few hundred or thousand men around the world to perform them, but it is solely by the keys he holds that they are of value.

    Rule of thumb.  Effort + time reflect a lot about interest and intentions. Things come up, and sometimes plans do have to be cancelled, but someone should quickly make new plans and then follow through with them. If someone avoids, changes plans, and does not actively correct things, make new plans etc..... then you pretty much can see that they are not very interested or even respectful of you.  Its not really even worth addressing, if he is isn't interested it won't result in him changing his behaviors and going out with you. It likely just will create more awkardness for both of you, and needless additional heartache for you.

    He is not playing games with you and he his not stringing you along...  He has already clearly stated his intention and is acting accordingly.
     
    You might want more...  that is to bad because he isn't going to give it to you.  You need to focus your attention elsewhere...  Until you do you will be stringing yourself along.

    The only reason you would find the Temple less clear is if you have doubts about modern Revelation and Modern Prophets...  That while you believe the restoration and Joseph Smith calling you doubt the ones who came after.  I don't have to look very far at all to find President Monson and others telling us quite clearly how important temples are.
    If that is your case then you will not find the answer trying to puzzle out temples... You can only find your answers trying to puzzle out who in our day has authority to speak for God

    The fees are relatively small. The GOP/RNC has lawyers, too, and they know the rules.
    But, as I see it, the issue here is sauce for goose v. sauce for gander: if the Left wants to force some people to provide artistic services (e.g., bakers. pizza parlors, photographers) against the artist's wishes, then all artists must comply with the same rules, including musicians and singers. And they have no more right to complain than the former groups.
    In fact, it seems they have less right to complain because they have offered licensure to the public and their recorded performances do not require any explicit effort on their parts. It's more than a matter of getting paid for the art/effort. A baker, for instance, must make a different cake for each wedding, but a singer doesn't go to the convention, he doesn't even have to send the CD — the user buys a downloaded version (if not a CD) and the artist has nothing to do with the transaction at all.

    We assume that you have chosen "to go through a ceremony in a specific building".
    If there is no advantage of making and keeping Temple covenants, why does Father command us to make them?
    If a Temple marriage (more than just the ordinance and ceremony) do nothing for us, why does He command us to build the buildings and use them as He directs?
    There are good people in all churches and in no church at all, but they cannot get the blessings unless they follow the commandments, just as we do. They will not be condemned for the failure, but they cannot be blessed, either.
    Were we to extend your argument, there is no reason to be baptized, or to take the Sacrament. I mean, they're good people, right?

    I have lived through both sides of this horrible tragedy. I have been the cheater and I have been cheated on. Looking back I have a clearer vision and hope I can help. 
    Your husband's infidelity has little to nothing to do with you, and everything to do with his own insecurities, addictions, or lack of being able to express his own needs and have them met. Try to not let your mind go to it being your fault in any way.
    As one who cheated I know it's a HARD thing to escape. I felt I could never be IN love with my spouse again. I thought the grass was greener on the other side. It's not. You almost always trade one set of problems for another (that goes for both of you). When I cheated, initially my spouse was forgiving and loving and wanted to find a way back into love. THAT, along with not wanting to hurt my children made me love him and want to work on it. However, he could never get over the jealousy. His random hurtful remarks and following me to places made me give up after two years of trying to mend it. So in short....love him. He's hurting more than you...which is so hard to get when you've been betrayed. The book "Believing Christ" has helped a lot. 
    In my current marriage, I was cheated on. He also had a porn addiction. Our sex life was amazing, but still not enough (only because he was an addict).  Call it karma I suppose.  But I must say, having been on the other end probably saved us.  When I found out, he continued the lie and wasn't repentant, so I left. It nearly killed me. However, I kept praying his heart would soften. In the meantime, he was lonely. He realized his intermittent sexual highs would never give him he lasting joy a real relationship could. He started praying to see things for what they were and from my (and my children's perspectives).  After a 5 month separation, we met to talk. I still absolutely loved him. He still loved me. He said my love for him even after all that he put me through is what changed him forever.  We still have struggles of course, but I could not be happier. We both changed in profound ways because of pain and a desire to find joy and peace. We still have to be careful. We talk and pray and made some ground rules, and thank God every day for our marriage. This was the short version but the moral of it all is....1) The pain you and your children will suffer by divorce will outweigh the work you will have to do to save it. (Although God does always give us a plan B if we can't find our way). 2) LOVE and don't judge, or keep him stuck in guilt.  He already feels crappy....even if you don't see it. Make ground rules but let him know he is better than the sins and you love him unconditionally. Try to understand how you can help meet his needs without taking the blame.  3) Complete honesty on both parts will help rebuild trust and keep resentments and temptation at bay. Be open about sexual expectations, suspicions, insecurities, temptations, everything. No passwords, no private email/social media accounts, etc. 
    My heart goes out to you. (((Hugs)))

    My family is visiting Washington DC, and we stopped at the Jefferson Memorial yesterday. A very moving place.
    My wife and I both got choked up reading the preamble from the Declaration of Independence: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights."
    I also noted the following on a facing wall:
    "God who gave us life gave us liberty. Can the liberties of a nation be secure when we have removed a conviction that these liberties are the gift of God? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, even that his justice cannot sleep forever."
    Is there any doubt that Jefferson was one of the principle people the Lord referred to when he said:

    The "three-fold mission of the Church" was, in reality, a one-fold  mission with three phases:  improve all mankind so each could enter the Celestial Kingdom (or, at least, give them the opportunity to do so). This includes the "quick and the dead" (living and dead) and, once members of the Church of Jesus Christ, to "perfect" them through temple ordinances. (President Monson's addition of "Care for the poor and the needy" extends the last: a man who's hungry cannot focus on the things of the Kingdom.)
    No matter how we see it, "life", from Father's PoV, is eternity: His children must be given a fair chance at coming home, and, if we don't make the ordinances possible, now that we have access to them, and the ability to build the Temples and do the work, than we are unworthy of the blessings we've received.
