  1. I think it is always an interesting question of how we handle deviation from the norm. Chickens do not handle it well and will peck the eyes out of chickens who are different. Others, such as Unitarians seem more adaptable and will welcome all.
  2. A Elbereth Gilthoniel silivren penna míriel, eh?
  3. Had to track this down in the Wikipedia, to make sure this was indeed misinformation rather than something valid.
  4. Have you ever suspected that the term "know it's all true" when applied to anything metaphysical, really means, that it is believed to be true with some self or group hypnosis added for seemingly greater emphasis? Belief in and of itself is sufficient.
  5. The Wikpedia gives this insight: This description does not contain any information about the work of Simcha Jackobi.
  6. I've spotted a resemblance of some children to lemurs. Our relationship to anyone down the line past Homo Habilis seems too far for exact genealogical work.
  7. I understand you just fine, Maya. BTW, what if you applied some baking soda directly on that Dysgarfi? Hey neat, the two items I checked are leading in the polls.
  8. Hi Bytebear, here is an extension on that in this Wiki article: Barack the Magic Negro - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
  9. If not supernovas, then we can perhaps assume that Intergalactic Lord Xenu went on one very large rampage.
  10. Who does that Grandma think she is wanting to bring down the full weight of a socialistic state on our heads just for a little clean food? Why does she not have her Pâté de foie gras flown in from one of those socialistic European countries if she is sooo picky???!!!
  11. Tombs would not have looked like this:
  12. So basically fig leaves are a poor clothing choice? Just be glad they didn't reach for the coca leaves.
  13. The phrase was by American conservative satirist Paul Shanklin who has been contributing to the Rush Limbaugh show since 1993. In the song he was imitating the Rev. Al Sharpton (hopefully he did not dress up in black face too). Your other comments by about Al Sharpton are made up too. Usually when I make things up they are about Space Aliens, Vikings and BYU football, but we all have our peccadilloes.
  14. I think I might have left out the main event for next week: Kong and Godzilla versus Chuck Norris and Iron Mike Ditka.
  15. Just letting out the natural man versus man or natural pittbull versus pittbull or natural rooster versus rooster or natural bull versus matador or natural alien versus predator or natural Kong versus Godzilla. What could be more natural? Perhaps a steel cage match with Kong and Godzilla versus Bambi and Thumper!
  16. Except possible collateral damage to that hundred-thousand throng doing their toe-to-toe circular pilgrimage.
  17. My guess is that living in Europe for the moment, you are not strapped for cash. My thoughts are to go to BYU, marry a returned missionary, have kids, raise one of them to join the Air Force when he gets older and when you retire, go on a mission with your husband. Actually any one you choose first will be correct. Some of the most practical students I ever ran into first went the military route, and they were the better for having done so. Don't fret over this decision because there are pluses any way you choose. Being educated and entering the military (especially if you go into nursing - English or history not as much) will help the Air Force. Maybe there you will snag a returned missionary Naval Aviator.
  18. So are you speaking of Darwin or Dawkins from Carlimacs post? Are these courts of glory really dependent on disbelieving science? I would think that a full understanding of God's methodology would be well received, especially if such an understanding was ultimately essential for eternal progression.
  19. The wrong I was initially talking about was the guy running for Chairman of the RNC who mailed this out as a treat for the committee members. In their eyes, perhaps Obama was magic in defying the odds and was most definitely observed as a 'Negro', with full knowledge of the history behind that term. The people showing the cartoon also knew of the implications of what they were showing. Best to let Limbaugh off with this parody, although I might add that Beck fellow does a much better parody. So what about this anti-mormon cartoon?
  20. Perhaps it could symbolize some transition between agrarian tillers of soil to nomadic hunter-gatherers, although I imagine both coexisted for a long time. The story of Cain and Able provides further symbolism along this line.
  21. So parallels to media being wrong only exist depending upon which side of the political or theological tracks you are from? If so, then justification for the cartoon does exist somewhere. Unless one takes the position that such defaming material is in itself wrong.
  22. Have there been any early estimates from Fox that the crowd will be over 2 million? How about the aerial surveillance photo people placing it at 57?
  23. Usually a determination is made if the prospective client is able to pay and if so how much. Sometimes court ordered cases remain jailed till a bed opens up.
  24. When news stories say he was the Seminary Principal, does that mean he was the lead teacher? Six years to life.
  25. I think the FDA was right to say it intends to regulate such e-cigarettes in accordance with its mission to protect public heath. Smoking is hazardous.
