  1. We just need to build another Great Wall that can be seen from space. It will take decades to build and we can get a bunch of illegals to do it too.
  2. What about the 90% of people who are wrong about everything? Can I be a part of them too?
  3. The answer is simple then. Invade mexico, make it a State, and all their citizens US citizens. No more illegal immigrants, as they are all Americans now. Instantly makes the problem of mexican illegal immigrants go away.
  4. The OP asked if he had missed any Commonly used LDS reasoning against steady dating after 16 and prior to mission:(his words) and I gave him one. I will defer to Hemidakota, and the words of President George Q. Cannon already quoted by him. As far as my first question, perhaps quoting all of it instead of pull-quotes. From an objective viewpoint, a youth wants to steady date. We have statements from the General Authorities, and by extension, a commandment from Heavenly Father that we are not to steady date under a specific set of circumstances. There are many human reasons listed, but the only reason that matters, is Heavenly Father has required it. We can justify obediance, just the same as we can justify disobedience. Should we need to justify obedience, or is it enough that we obey.
  5. I like your well-thought out response Funky. As usual you make the rest of us sound like raving schoolchildren. I'm still waiting to see what PrinceofLight2000 has to say regarding my point #10 I hope he puts as much thought in to it as he has his first post.
  6. Ok, you asked for it. Here is my Reason 10. Who do you think you are, to call in to question counsel given by the General Authorities? Are you better than they are? Do you think that somehow, what they say doesn't apply to you, because you are "special" or "different"? It's not about the objections, or the reasons. If you are going to go on your Mission, there is one thing you need to learn. There is only one principle, only one thing upon which the Universe works, even down to you. That principle is obedience. Obedience is the first law under Heaven. It is how the stars and worlds were formed. It is how Jesus Christ Atoned for our Sins. It is how we will obtain Immortality and Eternal Life. How can you expect to learn and to grow, progress in this life and the next, if you are unwilling to obey even the first law of heaven?
  7. Illegal immigration will stand so long as employers are willing to get cheap labour and pay in cash. Those All American strawberries in the supermarket? Picked by illegals. The potatoes in your mash-in-a-box, the fields were tended by illegals. Heck, the house you are in may have had some illegals hammering nails or something. And you know why? They're cheap, economical, and from what I have seen, work pretty well, better than their American counterparts. If you want to tackle illegal immigration, target the employers, and target the American work ethic, and sense of entitlement.
  8. Oh Noes! Boobies! At least that seems to be the response I am seeing here. The Bishop was, by Scottish Law, out of line and that is all that matters. It's your right to Breast Feed, exercise it.
  9. meep, and I went and responded to an ancient thread. Oops. Locktime?
  10. Umm, a lot of what was "wrong" back in the 1800's has since proven to be "right" in the 2000's. What is left may yet be proven true or may not even be provable one way or the other. Archaeology is not so much a science as it is evidence-based storytelling. Some things we can know, some things we cannot. I've always considered the Book of Mormon to be the most correct book as it pertains to spiritual and doctrinal matters.
  11. Not correct Mahone, Android is distributed under the Apache Software License, which allows for commercial and proprietary extensions to source code. The Linux kernel remains GPLv2, but all the userspace stuff is Apache. Neither license requires changes to be fed back to the developers. The GPL only requires that the source code be made available upon request, not that I feed back changes to the devs. It can be in my best interest to do so, but Ubuntu and Red Hat both have kernel enhancements and backports that aren't in the kernel's main development tree. The ASL is compatible with Google's goals, moreso than the GPL would be. There are plenty of licenses accepted by the OSI, Google just chose one that allows for proprietary development. Heck, HTC has doe wonders for UI, and they don't have to pass those changes upstream.
  12. The BNP is not a political party for starters. It's a bunch of thugs who have managed to get some political backing. UKIP is of a similar bent, but the Church doesn't really tel people how to vote. That question is best left between the interviewer, the interviewee, and God.
  13. That is a very good question. There is no doctrinal answer other than what is there, that God has always been God. Anything more as far as I am concerned is idle speculation
  14. I am going to throw in a c-c-combobreaker!!!!!!!!!! before this gets out of hand.
  15. There is also evidence for books which we don't currently have. There is a whole Pandora's Box there.
  16. Odd, SharePoint Integration was flakey to none at all when we tried it. No extranet so too many things to go wrong. I've not seen reference to the required server configurations, but we're on Server 2k3, not 2k8, and can't use the newer versions of SharePoint. I wonder how well it works on the iPad, our boss wants something smaller and lighter than the 13.1 inch , 2.5Kg Sony Vaio he currently uses. Personally I think he's being optimistic, but he is the general manager, so no expense is spared for him.
  17. we quite happily use Dell workstations and servers where I work. I have just ordered 3 OptiPlex desktops and am waiting on delivery of a server. All are Windows, but we have in the past, and may do in the future purchased Linux and bare servers from Dell. Nothing from Apple. I am tempted by the new iPhone, especially with Tesco's tarriff. Phone for 350 or so, and 20 quid per month for more voice and data than I can use. One lady at work jus got her iPhone 4 today complete with transparent case that cost her as much as a month's tarriff. The display is stellar I must say. To bad it doesn't integrate with SharePoint.
  18. I think Beefche has this thread licked.
  19. At least Beefche licks the inside of the monitor. I don't have do deal with that side of the screen. Although I did have to take apart a LCD monitor because Beefche's saliva gummed up the electronics. That was just gross.
  20. Aww, heck, Home Teaching, to do your visit, just log on to LDS.net, post a new thread, and be done with it. Your families just need to log on and read it to be taught. That counts, right?
  21. You tend to need to be behind someone to push them off a cliff.
  22. On this side of the pond, and what news media I've been exposed to, the Tea Party folks have a bad name, as militant anti-government neo-terrorists. While I may not agree with their politics, this video puts a much more human face on the Tea Party goers. We have a few political parties over here that need to re-make themselves or face severe fallout in their traditional strongholds. The US needs the same, for both parties, heck, the US needs more variety than just Democrats vs Republicans. All the other minor parties are not really worth much in US politics as far as I can tell. Lobbyists and big Corporations are where it's at right now.
  23. spec sheets on the new server?
