We just naturally think we look good. (I'm about 20% joking)

It has nothing to do with being right or wrong. The 'eventually made the decision' is referring to the fact that I'm cautious not to head into an accident.

This isn't the first time someone has been frustrated by the notion of "it being to help men." I for one have never come across this besides seeing others complain about so I don't think it is true at all.
Many boys and girls start thinking about sex at a young age. Many will come across pornography as early as 9 (I did).
Now in no girl, but I feel confident in telling you that you will find more joy in your life if you choose to be modest.

I've never been too upset when I have a "less active" companion. Put the strong with the weak, That is typically how the Lord works. ( I'm pretty sure there is a D+C scripture that teaches that)
What really breaks my heart is hearing from every one of my new home teaching families that I am the first HT they have had in a long time.

My home teaching companion is MIA. And has been for a while. I just moved into the Ward and was immediately paired with this MIA member.
In the past I have always just gone alone if my companion wouldn't come (which my last one was less active and I got him to about half the lessons).
Besides with single sisters, Is there anything written that suggests we shouldn't go alone?

Just a thought experiment, not fishing for any responses.
how would we feel as saints in the following scenarios?
    1) A statue of Judas in Jerusalem, even near golgatha.
    2) Bust/statue of governor Boggs in the Missouri capital building honoring his great service.
    3) Statues of Thomas C. sharp, Mark Aldrich, William N. Grover, Jacob C. David and Levi Williams were erect across from Libirty Jail. Or anywhere else.
    4) Statue of Waren Jeffs across the street from the SLC temple.
I know these examples aren't all equal to historical monuments of confederacy leaders or statues of famous slave owners, but to some, those statues can spark the same reaction as statues of the murderers of Joseph Smith.

    Additional experiments:
    1) A statue of Hitler... anywhere
    2) Memorial to the Taliban
    3) Names of terrorists that struck the US etched on a long wall.
all this is history... do we erect memorials for them? If not, should we keep the memorials for people that are known for supporting slavery or other evil things. This of course would be based in secular opinion so if you support tearing down these memorials you may also be supporting tearing down religious memorials in the future if that is the way the world goes.

I think we should just be good always. Personality and how we act does and should change. When I'm around my nephews, I am going to wrestle them all and let them climb all over me. When I'm around my parents, I probably won't.
My stances of gospel topics do not change but how I address them does. For example, I'll openly admit the evils of homosexual relationship in a presidency meeting, but speak more cautiously when im around my many friends that are homosexual (though my stance will be the same).

Well, you know the old joke.  Jews don't recognize Jesus as the Messiah, Protestants don't recognize the authority of the Pope, and Mormons don't recognize each other at the store on Sunday.

The best way to raise any percentage in the church is to raise overall righteousness if the members. No matter how many miracle stories there are and no matter what tactics you use to people to do home teaching, it won't last unless they are praying, reading and living the gospel every day.
I don't like "miracle" stories because like every miracle or conversion story in scripture, they are the exception and not the rule.
I had a cool experience where I helped a YSA I home taught become active again. but I don't tell that story nearly as often as I tell the story of the old couple whom I HT. They are as active as they can be due to health restraints. Before and During my first visit, they told me 3 or 4 times that they hadn't had HT in 3 years and how they had missed it so much (in reality they had HT but they never came). I spent 30 minutes just talking and getting to know them. It was fun!

I get a little fired up on this topic. I was visiting my parents Ward a few weeks ago and the lesson on EQ was about service or something like that.
It was a very good lesson  at the end, the teacher posed the question "what can we do to find more opportunities to serve?" Now in my own Ward, we have as low as 13% home teaching sometimes. And I know the church has a major problem with this. I brought up in that lesson that we shouldn't be seeking additional service opportunities when we are failing in the service we are called to do. And I tried to say it in such a way to not extend judgment as I didn't know the numbers there, nor was it my place or duty.

Does anyone know how to make a video from lds.org available offline?
I tried the "download" option, but it basically made the webpage an icon on my iPad's home screen and was not available when I turned my wifi off. (A test I always do if I'm planning to show someone a video.) The missionaries showed me a video tonight, challenged me to show it to someone, and my thought is to show it to my divorced parents and half sister when we help my dad move into his new home on Wednesday (my birthday, for story's sake). But he obviously won't have Internet...
...you know what? Type-thinking all of this out, my mom will probably have wifi at her hotel and we can watch it there either before or after dinner.
But any information on making lds.org videos available offline would probably still be useful at a later date.

I greatest service is the service you are called to do.
