  1. I just asked in the yammer group. Hopefully we'll hear from someone soon.
  2. @Bluebird - I sincerely apologize that my comments seemed offensive or insensitive. Neither was the intention. I really do hope you've gotten some feedback here that makes you glad you stopped by and opened up.
  3. Although the op has 'signed off' - for others that read this thread down the road --- Re: making a mistake by not listening to/following the prompting in the temple - God knows all things from the beginning and knew how this would go so stop doubting yourself and make the most of your marriage - what it can and should be. All the best!
  4. I get what you guys are saying so just to clarify - I think too often we're taught/told to 'be nice' when in some instances we should fight and run instead. Sometimes our gut tells us to do things opposite of what years of upbringing has instilled.
  5. Change your perception. Stop focusing on all the negatives (it just makes things worse) and put more emphasis on the good. I'm sure there are resources to address the social awkwardness - have you checked to see what's out there? Also, if he treats you and the kids well - count your blessings. I think there are people in the world that would trade their situation for yours in a heartbeat. Oh, and you can have friends separate from your spouse - even if it's just online for now or you can join a class in your area and meet people that way.
  6. Teach them to follow their gut instinct!
  7. @JohnsonJones - fwiw - My friend has painstakingly gone through her family names and verified the info but due to health issues is not able to go to the temple herself. On top of that, she can't do the male names anyway and can't rely on the few family members she has so the names sit there and she is left waiting and hoping that people will help out. My friend's situation is not uncommon so please don't feel guilty about not having your own.
  8. My parents were 43 when they had their last and kept trying after that (all of us were perfectly healthy btw). It is what you make it to be.
  9. There are gadiantons in the financial sector as well.
  10. Financially speaking - People waiting to have kids till they're rolling in the dough is probably not the best idea but having them when they're dependent on the church to put food on their table has issues as well.
  11. My deepest sympathies for your losses. That's a lot in such a short time. Journaling might help relieve some of the stress and in turn help you physically. {hugs}
  12. @Robdesautel - Chewing gum was mentioned but I'd caution against it. Simply put, it gets the digestive system going and signals to the stomach to create acid to break down the food but if there isn't any food to break down you're still left with the acid = not good. Just thought I'd let you know.
  13. In case he comes back or for others who might feel the same as the op - this matters too... 2 Corinthians 9:7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
  14. I pay a full tithe not only because it's a commandment but also because I like having electricity, heat/ac, water to drink, etc when I go to church or the temple (this is what I "see with my own eyes" but maybe you don't). I pay fast offerings to help the local poor as well as help with other things that come around (angel tree, school clothes, food bank, etc). Then I pay into the various other options the church provides because I do want to help the needy around the world but don't trust other organizations to do it better than the church can and does. As far as seeing it with my own eyes, my in-laws sent pictures from their mission where they helped villages get water wells (the church provided the supplies, the villagers the labor or something like that - but a partnership none-the-less so people are invested in what they get). This is just one example but you get the idea. And btw - I don't consider myself a 'sheep' - I feel great about what I'm doing but to each his own.
  15. I'm not a programmer but do follow the WoW. Try herbal peppermint or ginger tea or diffuse good quality peppermint, grapefruit, ginger or rosemary essential oil in the air. You can also use topically for a more subtle approach in case you share an office. Google for more info and welcome to the forum.
  16. Does she have plans/goals going forward (where she hopes to be in 1 yr, 5 yrs, etc)? If not, I would encourage that. I would also caution you to be careful not to project your worry onto her but instead express confidence to her and to yourself.
  17. Wow - that wasn't the case for me at all so it probably depends on the temple.
  18. I'm sorry you're in this situation. As far as being scared - that's understandable. Focus on your strengths and get help where/when you need it. Sending love.
  19. broccoli salad is yummy and colorful (with sunflower seeds, craisins/raisins, shredded carrots, etc) - just google and look at recipes that would work for you
  20. Secret combinations (23 references) and Gadianton robbers (15 references) need to be added
  21. I just heard of a new app this week and tried it out. You still need to verify the info (dates, relationships, etc) but it at least whittles it down. Take A Name - available to use on phones and tablets (computers later). hth
  22. From universalmodel.com: A Revolutionary Universe Stephen Hawking states in his book, The Grand Design, “…the universe can and will create itself from nothing…” How did cosmology get to the idea of everything coming from nothing? The Big Bang theory, invented to try to explain our Universe, amounts to nothing more than just a “Big” theory. With no observable evidence or testable experiments to confirm it, we need to move past this failed idea. With all of the false modern science theories revealed in the UM, we see entire science fields drifting back to philosophy. How can we ever expect to answer how something formed if we don’t even know what it is? If we do not have the correct knowledge of what the Universe is, then we can never comprehend the wisdom of how the Universe formed. Science today has adopted a Universe envisioned by Einstein, but Einstein’s Universe does not fit actual astronomical and laboratory observations. Now, in the Universe Model Chapter, we discover a remarkable revolutionary order to the Universe.
  23. No. Welcome to the forum. Glad to have you here and happy that you're on this path.
