I disagree. Nobody's opinions will be changed. Nobody is going to suddenly support him that wasn't before if nothing is found. The same vitriol is going to infect the discussion. All they've done is drag them both through the mud for another week and bring things that much closer to midterm elections.

The problem is population centers and state size. I'm sure the same problems exist out west. I'm sitting in Kansas this week and the nearest temple is 2 hours away. Boston is a few hours from most of the major population centers in New England. The nether regions are being served, but there aren't many people up there to serve.

Sure. And the answer is "Yes. I stay for the first two hours, then I have to visit elderly relatives and walk my sister's dog". If your Bishop yanks your recommend for that, I'd go to the Stake President. Has a Bishop ever done that to someone who could only attend 2 hours?

This is the point I have a problem with. Will it really help them? How? We have agency and use that to progress our service and faith, or not. What are people doing that three hours instead of two keeps them out of church?
