This is where I'm at for no other reason than it's where I have to be at this stage of my learning. I can wrap my brain around the existence of pre-Adamites as evolutionary bodies that weren't souls.

Is it a sin to go against the cousel of the Prophet?

Thanks. I guess I'm just so new I don't see the subtleties. Perhaps I should read more and post less. -
Is it a sin to go against the cousel of the Prophet?
Grunt replied to BJ64's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
Who cares if it is a sin? We are to follow the Prophet, correct? I have a follow-up question: Why do the bulk of your posts have to do with topics that suggest doing anything but striving to follow the Prophet and Church leaders? -
That's me, only my wife isn't a member. She's an active participant, though. In my ward people don't care if you're married or single. They just care that you're trying to be more like the Christ. We all have "crosses to bear". We all sin. It certainly won't be easy for you, but there isn't much in this life that IS easy. I don't see how we can ever go wrong if we are trying our best to follow Heavenly Father, providing we are sincere in our attempt. In my opinion, those who think "I'll just sin now and hope Heavenly Father sorts it out beyond the veil" are going to be judged more harshly than those that gave constant, sincere efforts to endure to the end. Just my opinion.

I can't believe people drink soda.

Get married at 30, then. You'll still be way ahead of me. Follow your prompting and let Heavenly Father take care of the rest.

I'm not endowed and have performed confirmations. I've never had anyone say anything.

Great article. Is it OK to be sick of seeing LBTGEYQBCS posts? -
It has nothing to do with me. I've only seen him a few times. He pretty much disowned the family and moved to Arizona.

Oh. I should have been more specific. I don't include my brother-in-law in that statement.

I love my in-laws. I hope it's reciprocal.

Can you genuinely love people who you have not met?

I was visiting another ward today that mentioned you were known for singing Karma Chameleon in the shower. -

Any service is awesome. I just knew you were a recent convert, so I was wondering what religion you were on a mission for, that's all. You still didn't say. -
I'm a very strong believer in families support each other. However, that requires frequent and honest communication. My in-laws live 45 minutes away. We don't hesitate to ask them to take the kids. They don't hesitate to say no when they don't want to or have other plans. No hard feelings either way. They'll often ask if they can have the kids for a few days. Sometimes it works for us and sometimes it doesn't. Again, no hard feelings either way. I'm not sure they could handle being full-time caretakers at their age, though. That would be a lot to ask of them, and we never have.

Out of curiosity, which church did you serve a mission with? -
You best friend isn't going to judge your progress here on earth. You determine your own comfort levels.

I didn't want children. As I got older I changed my mind. I had them later in life.

Sounds like you both need to grow up a little. I don't mean that in a negative way. Mature is probably a better word. Talk to your Bishop. A trip to the woodshed for him may be in order.

When/where you are married has nothing to do with a child being BIC, providing you are sealed when they are born.
-
No. I think, since it is for us to impress upon our children, it points towards the importance for them to marry in the Temple and have children. They have an opportunity that converts don't have, unless they are minor or unmarried converts.

I don't HAVE a problem. I like pens.

Don't join MassDrop, then.
