  1. That reminds me of something my Grandpa said when I asked him why his family did not have any family reunions. He said there would be way too many fights, although I think he used the words fisty-cuffs. As for tracing back my family has some back in the 1300s and others not nearly that far. Still working though
  2. It all depends on where you are in Utah. If you are north of salt lake the polys are few and far between.
  3. I spent two years in the Sydney area and did make it up as far north as Grafton. Felt like i could almost stretch my neck far enough and see Brisbane.
  4. wow I should be ashamed. I have not read that much of the Book of Mormon in such little time ever. to have read all those means you must be flying as you read
  5. the threads on this board go round and round, round and round, round and round. The threads on this board go round and round. lalalalala
  6. I would say if you are going to do that then keep a copy of the letter that you are going to send. It would be cool to have the letter you sent as well as any response that you got together.

  8. I think the original poster is long gone. Everyone bored him with their knowledge
  9. I have found this "We are not preaching a salvation for the inhabitants of the terrestrial or the telestial kingdoms. All of the ordinances of the gospel pertain to the celestial kingdom, and what the Lord will require by way of ordinances, if any, in the other kingdoms he has not revealed" (Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 2:329). as I have been preparing the lesson for Gospel Doctrine this week which is on the three kingdoms
  10. It is a sign from.... Who knows who it is a sign from but sounds like you need to do the equivalent of a rain dance for your tv to fix it. College football is coming thankfully soon
  11. It could have been the tornado sirens that turned on because I was running so fast creating quite a whirlwind. I did not stick around long enough to ask, you never know who has seen my wanted poster in the post office, aka LDS.net inbox

  14. Thanks for the heads up. The hideout has been comprised and I am writing this as I flee to the border to my other hideout. And no I will not tell you which border!
  15. I think that I am close to being put on parole here on LDS.net due to my inactivity. I received this note under notices. Hello goofball it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums? Whatever am I to do? oh me oh my. As a result I am following the wise counsel and engaging in a "conversation" For those who thought this thread was going to actually be about parole in the legal sense I apologize. I still haven't been caught and am still on the run. So as to what we should converse about let us ponder who is sitting behind the curtain in Oz sending out such wonderful notices and as we do that, has anyone ever received this notice before? Please note I mean no offense and this is done tongue and cheek and in no way represents my true feelings or that of my many personalities, of the great administrators in LDS.net and their subsidiaries.
  16. I'm Batman!
  17. I know that there is a group out there called Genesis, see Genesis Group that is a great website.
  18. I spent two years in New South Wales on an LDS Mission. Amazing country and people!
  19. No worries you are never alone with the challenges you have in life. It is unfortunately much easier to drift away slowly because it takes WORK. I think you will find that there are many who have journeyed down your same road. At times it happens to everyone to some degree or another, myself included. My advice is simply keep going, don't ever, ever give up. You need to keep doing all that you have been advised.
  20. For some the answer does not come right away. I have known too many who gave up before the trial of their faith. It can take some time before you receive the answer. Keep trying and dont give up, don't ever give up. For me I remember trying this when I was a teenager, hoping for something to happen. I believed that I needed to know and receive this confirmation. Then the words of the Lord to Oliver Cowdry in Doctrine and Covenants 6:22-23 22 Verily, verily, I say unto you, if you desire a further witness, cast your mind upon the night that you cried unto me in your heart, that you might aknow concerning the truth of these things. 23 Did I not speak apeace to your mind concerning the matter? What greater bwitness can you have than from God? I realized at that time that I was asking for confirmation of what I already knew. I knew the Book of Mormon was true and had known for years. Why was I doubting what the Spirit had already confirmed to me? Many a times I have gone back to this scripture and don't doubt what I already know just because I feel I need ANOTHER confirmation. Cavs-Don't think they can do it. I think they will disappear in the playoffs.
  22. I would go with this explanation. The first resurrection has already taken place. However you often hear in blessings that there are those that will be resurrected in the morning of the 1st resurrection. Implying the resurrection that will come when Christ comes again. You could also look at the 1st resurrection as the 1st that will come after the restoration of the Gospel. Either way the first resurrection has already happened
  23. Thanks for the great post. I am anxious to see if they will print the dedicatory prayer in the Church News as they have some of the past dedications
  24. I concur. Post the source. If it is your opinion say so. Leads to less confusion.
  25. Anyone know of the story about one of the apostles regarding his conversion story. I have heard that someone was giving a talk about his mission and said he felt like a failure because he only converted a dirty Scottish boy. The apostle then later told that missionary I am that boy. I thought it was Talmage but he was born in England. Or is it really just a Mormon legend. Oh wise and omniscient LDS.net board what is the answer?
