What is your favorite temple?
MichaelPAGuy replied to StallionMcBeastly's topic in LDS Gospel Discussion
My favorites are the Washington, DC and Mesa, AZ temples. Now that I am living in Anchorage, Alaska I will add that temple to my favorite list. Although I cannot go through it yet I do like to go over there and just walk the grounds, It is a very calm and peaceful feeling. -
I know for myself polygamy was an issue that lead myself away from the church. We were not alive back in those days so we may never understand why the lord commanded it. It is apart of our church's past. We cannot erase it. It is and will always be there. We do not practice it today. It took me 31 years to finally come to terms with polygamy and gain a full testimony of this church. Her testimony of Joseph might come over time. You never know how the lord will soften her heart.

Congratulations I am so happy for you! Are you also being confirmed tomorrow or is that on Sunday? You will also receive the gift of the Holy Ghost!

Congratulations on the mission call. Your son will serve the lord proudly.

Congratulations! What is your secret to being debt free?

Yesterday I had my re-baptism into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It was without a doubt one of the greatest days of my life. I was re-baptized and confirmed a member which also means I was given the gift of the holy ghost. I feel glad to have it done as now since I am older I can appreciate it alot more. Thank you to everyone on this board for your support. I greatly appreciate it. It is wonderful to have you all as my brothers and sisters in the lord's true church.

Just my piece of advice...Please never give up. It took me 31 years(my whole life so far) to receive a true answer from the lord that this is his true church. Take time to listen to the spirit. Who knows, You might already have your answer.

If you want to read more about the subject read...The Family: A Proclamation to the World. It explains everything in more detail. You could probably do a search on lds.org for it. -
Wonderful poem!

An update for everyone, My meeting with the bishop went well. My re-baptism is scheduled for next Sunday, August 23. I cannot wait.
-
It's ok. I am just glad that I have turned my life around, and I am on my way back into the waters of baptism soon.

I was not excommunicated. I made the big mistake of resigning from the church in 2007.

For those of you who have been following my story, Here is a little update. My paper work finally arrived from Salt Lake City. I am meeting with my bishop this week for my baptism interview. NFL Football team in Utah. Is there one?
MichaelPAGuy replied to Lost_one's topic in General Discussion
The only pro sports team that Salt Lake City has here in the USA is the NBA's Utah Jazz. -
Unfortunately, For some people they are only able to attend sacrament or maybe the first 2 hours of church. I know for myself, I would love to attend all 3 hours of church every Sunday, but my job does not allow me to. At least I get to attend 2 hours.

The Work And The Glory III A House Divided
MichaelPAGuy replied to dvdreviewergal's topic in LDS Movies
I love all of these movies. I feel the spirit every time I watch them. -
I am going to be baptized by a good friend of my parents. Someone who was our neighbor while I was growing up. Someone who I admire alot. I do not have to go through the lessons again. Although, I must admit, I might like to try that again.

As alot of you are aware on here I am have been coming back to the church after having resigned in 2007. I met with my bishop this past Sunday and I have a baptism interview scheduled for a few weeks from now. If all goes well there, in July I will be re-baptized into the lord's true church. I am so happy right now, Words cannot express how I feel.

Tomorrow night is the big game. Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals! As a penguins fan all I have to say is...GO PENS!
-
Everybody heals at their own pace. This is something one cannot rush back into. The husband broke the bond of trust. That is somethingt he has to earn back on her terms. Not his.

Penguins all the Way! This is our year! Crosby Rules!

Church Investigates Proxy Baptism of President's Mother
MichaelPAGuy replied to KeithLBrown's topic in General Discussion
I remember in 2004 when my aunt in Arizona had her's and my father's dad's rituals done. He passed away in 2001. My aunt had her son perform it. My father was furious becasue he was not consulted about it. My father could have done the ordinances for his father. Also, my aunt and father have a brother who is also a member of the church. Needless to say, My my father and uncle did not speak to my aunt for a long time. I feel ,as it was their father, they should have been the ones to perform the ordinances. Not a grandson.
